  1. Do we know when the official date was for Meadows Premium ? June 19 ?
  2. We are about to camp at the Fort for 10 days. Hate actually spending valuable vacation time inside the Wal-mart. So, I've read there are fees for delivery to Fort Wilderness... is that still the case ? Which grocery store do you recommend for the most hassle-free experience for either delivery or Pick Up ? THANK YOU~ Mitzi
  3. so, here's my question.... I made my premium reservation for our upcoming 10-day stay at the Fort many months ago. Way before Meadows Premium was an option! Are they going to honor the fact, when we check in, that I was given many premium options for loops to pick from when I made the reservation and now many less ? We were splurging on a premium site so we could possibly have loop 1400 to celebrate my triplets' high school graduation. We rarely ever pay for premium and I am assuming they would hit us with a fee for a downgrade at this point since we arrive in 5 days. Very disappoint
  4. I feel out of the loop as I don't know who this lady is that you all love so much. Where is she ? How do I meet her ? When will she be leaving ?
  5. I know about being in the sandwich generation. I really am sorry. I've been there. (((hugs)))
  6. Gwen, I'm sorry to read that you may have to cancel. I know that must be a disappointment to you. Jason, I thought that might be a big possibility that Disney wouldn't put a cancellation back into the pool. So, I was wondering if someone on here coordinates with me and we call Disney together and I take over the reservation being canceled (or rather just the days I need). Is that possible ?
  7. Hello friends, We camp about once a year at Fort Wilderness in our 35+ ft travel trailer.... DH, myself, our 17 y.o. triplets and our 75 pound Golden Retriever. For the first time ever, we decided to spend Thanksgiving week at Disney. I began the process in January 2017 of trying to book Fort Wilderness reservations. NOTHING for the full 10 days. So, I began piecing a vacation together. Checking online 5 & 6 times (maybe more) a day for openings. And, yes, I have Jason helping me, too, as he is our TA. We've been able to secure all but 2 days. November 20, 2017 and November
  8. Jason did it! He got our family the vacation we wanted at Fort Wilderness in January! Yippee!! :yourock:
  9. From wdwinfo.com: As of 9/27/14: The monorail will have a different operating schedule than normal as an automation upgrade takes place. An automated monorail will allow for faster switching times, more frequent dispatching of trains, and accurate arrival information. Additional buses and watercraft will be available during this time (guests who have early breakfast reservations can also use watercraft or bus service). This schedule will be in place for a few months, but no specific end date has been set. The schedule will be: Epcot - 8:00am-11:00pm or 1 hour after the Magic Kingdom close
  10. As I've mentioned in another post, we are relatively new to RV camping. Have a 40+ ft. Jayco Eagle (thus my screen name) travel trailer that we use, on average, 2 times a year for 10+ days at a time. We hope to travel more as vacation days permit w/ my husband's job. So, my husband is one of those 46 year old men that has everything. In general, if he needs it throughout the year, he buys it. If he wants it... same thing. So, when Christmas rolls around, our family has NO idea what to get him. We're all tired of seeing the gifts we get him collect dust in his man cave, never to be touc
  11. I've always found allearnet to be pretty accurate. They give a "range" for the buffets, stating that the prices can fluctuate based on the season, etc. so, if I were you, I would just say that it is going to be the highest amount since it's Thanksgiving week as my estimation. Here is the link- last verified Aug `14: http://allears.net/dining/menu/trails-end/breakfast
  12. my computer, the site or all of the above went nutso and posted my reply a million times _ I am trying to delete them!! I don't seem to have the power to delete so maybe someone else can ? So sorry!!!!
  13. I completely agree. If you call 3 times, very likely that you'll get 3 answers. Lunch is definitely a la carte but breakfast should be a set price as it is certainly buffet.
  14. I saw this first mentioned in another thread that started with the price of ice at the Fort's machines. We are relatively new (last 4 years) to RV camping and didn't even know such a contraption existed. Questions: If we have a 40+ foot RV travel trailer with a Frig/freezer, is it worth getting the ice maker ? We are a family of 5 with 3 growing, eating, munching, grazing, hungry teens. Our freezer NEVER has enough room for ice trays or ice or I wouldn't even consider this machine. But, now, we have to buy ice b/c all other space is full of food for the triplets' growing bodies. What
  15. Thank you, Carol! My TA of many years retired recently and the new one (bless her heart for trying!) probably isn't very familiar with Fort Wilderness. if we book seperate ressies do we have to switch campsites ? I know that sounds silly but I'd hate to have to do that. I may need to contact Jason when he returns.
  16. Some may find this throw away only a rumor but I can't help but compare this ridiculous situation to the previous years we've had the campgrounds practically all to ourselves in January and February without a lick of trouble getting the reservations. I was given a link to this article. I think it appropriate for this situation: http://www.wdwinfo.com/the-great-throwaway-room-debate.htm
  17. I feel a bit stupid but who is Jason ? I'm suspecting he's a TA ? Thanks :)
  18. So disappointed today when trying to book our upcoming January/ February family vacation at Fort Wilderness. NOTHING was available. We wanted two weeks. Our dates were flexible all over those 2 months. Nothing. We were flexible as to whether we had preferred, premium, full-hook up or even the pet loop was optional since we won't have our dog with us this year but love the fur babies. Nothing. So, after some digging around, I found out that tons of people are booking 1 "throw-away" night at the campsites during Jan. and Feb. so they can qualify for something - not sure what it is - suspe
  19. This reply is coming way too late (like more than a year!) but thanks to all of you that replied so quickly and stayed with us online while we found our Kenzi an ER vet. He did have a cone for our entire trip. He handled it better than I did, actually. You all were just awesome! The sad news, however, is that our beautiful boy died 3 weeks ago. However, from the time of the original post asking for a vet in WDW, he lived another 13 months. He was nearly 17 (pictured) and was the love of my life. I grieve for him every day. He had dealt with cancer surgery back then in Sept.2013 and it
  20. we're on our way to vet emergency clinic - thanks so much!
