  1. momof5, I got the info from here.. one of the fiends that just got back, for the life of me I can't find the thread now, Golf cart guy name was Steve, I have his emails at work, if you send me your email I'll forward his info to you, sorry!

  2. I purchased a $25 dollar gift card recently on www.disneystore.com.  They ship for free and you get to pick the design that you want.  I found out that you can't load more money online but you can call 1-800-362-4533 and add money via the phone.  This can be done in $25 dollar increments up to $1500.  Pretty decent deal I think, this is the method I use for "saving" for expenses in the parks, I just add money as I can and by the time we get to our trip, I have the extra funds onhand.  I don't have to worry about "dipping" into the disney dollars this way either.  I also inquired about Disney Dollars, I was given a seperate number for that: 714-781-4400.  This number was not nearly as user friendly as the other.  I waited for about 10 minutes around mid day on a random Wednsday.  Regardless, I finally got a live body on the phone and I inquired about the Disney Dollars.  She hesitated as if I had ask her for her weight.  Then proceeded to tell me all I needed to do was go to the nearest ticket window and they would exchange my dollars for disney dollars one for one.  I explained that I would like to have some sent to me so that I could surprise my son for his birthday.  She said that wasn't possible.  Now, I'm almost positive that I read somewhere that you could buy them over the phone so I politely ask if she was sure, so put me on hold for another 8 mintues and then came back and said.. and I'll quote.. "I was right, we dont mail them, your were mistaken, thank you for calling Disney .." and she hung up on me!  Ok, this wasnt suppose to turn into a rant, it's meant to be informative.. SORRY!  Moral of my story, Gift Card service, excellent!  Disney Dollars.. SUCKED!  I guess I'll get some of those another time...  :))

  3. Hey guys, I have a cart reserved with Kenny for the 29th of October to 11/5,  I love Kenny but I found another source that has a six seater for just a few more dollars, I wont cancel with Kenny just yet, if any fiends needs it let me know!

  4. and then Lou you have to come to our site, where you'll be greeted by 5 more little house critters all wanting to know what you do, they have dubbed you "uncle Lou" and they havent even met you yet.

You have five, Loretta has five, and I believe Marty is bringing only five and you'll all be at the Fort at the same time, wow.

we are conspiring to take over the 1500 loop.. :D If I get nothing else out of this trip, I hope to get a group picture of all our little fiend children, priceless!

  5. I didn't make the list either, Lou. :(  You can hang out at my site for plenty of free food. ;)

Will I be number 6 or 7 in the food line Marty?

Lou, you will be number 1!  However, the children will be lining up right behind you. ;)  Actually, they will probably be busy pestering you with questions about being a bus driver for The Mouse.  Except for the youngest, who will be shy at first, and then will adopt you as her new best friend. :D

and then Lou you have to come to our site, where you'll be greeted by 5 more little house critters all wanting to know what you do, they have dubbed you "uncle Lou" and they havent even met you yet..  :D  as a matter of fact, I should warn all the fiends, my children refer to all adults in a social situation as "Auntie and Uncle" it's the norm in Hawaii, so if anyone takes offense, I apologize now  :))

  6. :banghead: Will the miracles never end?! My husband just said we were going to the fort July 1st to 8th.. he wants to go to Daytona on the 2nd.. but that's not the point.. he ACTUALLY brought it up first... hot damn!!  :banghead: :banghead:

  7. Hey Whip, I lived on Oahu for 10 years, I worked for Aloha Airlines (no longer in buisness)  for 6 of those.  I moved to Alabama from Hawaii 2 years ago, I'd be happy to help you in anyway I can.  Alot just depends on how long your going to be there and what's "must do's" for your family.  When you start planning again hit me up!  There is so much more to Hawaii than than the touristy places can offer, I highly recommend Turtle Bay Resort unless Waikiki is more your speed, again depends on what your family is looking for.  Me and mine like to take the path less traveled :0)

  8. Love it, I to got a little slack last year when I took my kids alone to the fort, it was a 12 hour drive, never tent camped for fun (my military exursions didnt really count) and first time at WDW.  My kids are 11, 10 , 9 and 2... IT was awesome!! never once felt concerned for our safety.  I will admit however, Disney is probably one of the very few places I'd do this.  We checked out Racoon Mountain in Chattanooga this weekend.... wouldnt sleep there by myself... not impressed or maybe I'm just spoiled from our Ft. experience.  Regardless, great report!

  9. I have Armada, I feel totally safe and I can get my kids in it car seats and all comfortably.  The gas mileage sucks however...

How is it for towing? if you tow and if you do what size trailer? I'm courious what they are like as a T.V.

im by no means a expert on towing but the old man loves it and prefers to use it to tow instead of his Chevy Silverado, we have towed a rented 28' TT, i personally have only towed it with a 5 x 8 utility trailer packed with camping stuff and a motorcycle.

  10. IMHO, the fort is totally worth it for my family.  HOWEVER, we can only do it once a year,  if we lived closer, and could do it more often I think the price would be a issue, as someone said earlier, I have a large family and the "camping" route, is alot cheaper than flying us all somewhere and staying in a hotel.  As I learned last year, my first trip, the fort is an experience in itself when you have smaller children, I can understand that for adults only and older kids there might not seem like there is alot to offer in its self but my kiddos loved the placed!  The gas prices are killing me to, I have a Nissan Armada and get about 14 mpg....  it's enough to make me cry!!
