We ate at the restaurant there last Feb. It was the only place we could walk up and get a table for six. The place was almost full. The wait staff was great and we really enjoyed it. It was hidden away though.
We've been able to walk up and get a table at the Mexican table service on the water before too, and enjoyed that. The waitress there was excellent also.

I really enjoyed this report. Thank you for taking the time and putting it together.

Thank you so much for another great report! I have long been inspired by you and Yuri and the adventures. You taught me to get out there and go exploring!

Any site between the marina and the meadows will do just fine. They are walking distance from each other. I obsess over getting a good site too. I need to relax. Since I'm going to be there on SUNDAY! If the RV holds together. Going back out to the garage now. Just got finished with this job (no not my site, but it saved me lots of trouble)

Excellent! I was hoping there wasn't a master thread on this already somewhere. I seem to remember a couple years ago there were some discount programs available that applied to the Fort.
For tickets we have my mother who winters in Ft. Myer's Beach buy them and she gets the in-state rate for her and the kids, but my wife and I still have to pay the full boat.

What have we got for current discounts on sites and tickets available?

Oh, and I forgot to mention, Lego is all closed off at DTD. They also have been busy demolishing the buildings for the revamp of pleasure island. They have a really sad Lego store next to the toy store near the pin station until the new one is opened.

When we were there the first week of Feb, I was amazed at all the empty sites. I took a pics of the vast supply of empty sites (which will be in a future ride report). And all the while I wasn't able to get a reservation for those dates other than a popup. As I assumed, when I showed up they put me right into premium at my request and we got the best site we've had so far! I believe I paid just under 70 bucks for the mid week days. I did have some sort of discount that they had sent me in the mail though.
And yes, it's getting expensive. I hope Disney isn't reading this, but it hasn't reached my threshold. We only go once a year, and only stay for seven days. The price per night isn't what makes me re-consider the trip, it's the 6 mpg and 3.00-4.00 gas prices. But that's my problem....

While we were there the first week of Feb they dug up the hole at the entrance to the 300 loop and fixed stuff, then patched the pavement in that spot. Got it all done in one day. I've got pictures. Y'all will have to wait till I get back from Mexico, and figure out how to post pictures.
A bit of off-season pixie dust at HDDR!

I worry they will start cutting back on HDDR since they can't fill the tables. We were thinking of doing it again in Feb since it's been a couple of years. But it is an investment, that's for sure!
