It's just another version of my out-of-control Murphy's Law. When gas was reasonable, DH was working and getting even a week off was a major endeavor. Now that he'll be home 24/7 til death do us part, gas prices skyrocket so we can't get far. The key to whether it'll stop me is in the preceeding sentence though - he's home 24/7now 365 days a year! - No way am I gonna let some bozo oil sheik make me put up with being trapped in this friggin house surrounded by my loving family forever. Distractions, we need massive distractions... grab your coats everyone... wanna hand me those car keys? :p

Love it..... a tent with Slides! Making the payment as soon as my calls slow down. Should have it in the next 2 weeks. Might just have to do some backyard camping! wow. That really is some tent. Looks like more room for extra fun! Congrats! -
If you're uncertain, you could always get a standard AP for just one of you to take advantage of any AP discounts. You can always upgrade the other passes to APs, if you decide that works best for you, before heading home from that first trip. You'd only have to pay the difference in price to upgrade the others once there as long as you do it within 14 days or so of first use...

I'd expected to buy from Leo's. We visited their lot a few times last summer and thought they were great, I'd talked to them about the TH we wanted last week and went back today armed to finally hand over that check. Talked to an older, experienced looking salesman who was sitting at the table with a factory rep and told them we'd brought our checkbook to make a deal today. During the week, they'd sold the one on the lot but offered to order us one at the sale price. We were looking good until I gave him the figures I'd gotten from both the all-cash internet dealer and the dealer in PA who'd g

Sorry, I got that mixed up. The York Campers World Show 3/11-13 is the one we'll be doing to help out some friends, but I'm hoping to swing a deal this weekend when we go back into the Timonium show. I got a cash price from an out of state dealer on the TT we're currently aiming for of $21,100. A local dealer has two sitting on their lot that didn't get taken to the show last week and we're hoping to swing a better deal for one of those. Their website lists them at $24,990. I know that's below MSRP which was somewhere in the 30,000 range. There are also a couple of the same model on lots in PA

We were at the Timonium show last weekend and have passes to go back this weekend for a more relaxed look. Hoping to strike a deal and hand over that deposit check then. If not, we'll probably buy at the Harrisburg show. Spring's coming and I was literally chewing aspirins while hauling our too-big TT as it swayed across the interstate lanes last summer. No way, I wanna do that again... ever. I'll go back to tent camping first. Anyway, while I chatted at the Timonium show with CG owner friends from last summer, DH went around entering his name into all the drawings. As of yesterday, he'd alrea

DD10 has Lanie's camper and she really wants her own lamp post. Since the dolls are 18" tall it should probably be at least 22" tall or so and the head should be bigger than a doll's head. I was in walmart the other day and tried fitting two of the smaller solar pathlights together end to end. That'd work well for the light in a pinch but I still have no clue what to use for the head/ears or a bottom so it'd stand on it's own. How about it... you all are used to looking at big ones, what would you use for a 4ft x 2ft doll size camper? Help me make some Disney magic American Girl style... hmmm

I keep a George Foreman in the TT so I usually don't have to use the stove. Our stove in the TT is bigger than many we're seeing on new models but I cook with electric at home and prefer that. Between the outside grill and the Foreman, kitchen cleanup is much faster and propane seems to last forever. -
The used TTs we looked at last year are priced within a thousand or so of many new ones. Maybe it's just the dealers in the mid-atlantic area but honestly, we've seen quite a few new units for less than some wanted for used. I did ask the Forest River rep last weekend about buying one from a dealer I named that we'd been to in Elkhart, IN but he said we'd likely pay more there b/c they'd overbuilt and had more overhead than here. He said the VA/MD/PA/NJ area were among the most competive in the nation and Massachusetts was the least. I'd always figured it's be cheaper to buy closer to the fact

Just wondering if anyone has any advice on negotiating prices at the RV show? We'll be trading our too-big TT in & buying a smaller unit in the next month and have been trying to get to the shows in nearby states. How flexible do rv show prices tend to be? We need to trade this for something more towable...
