Standing underneath the old windmill got me really thinking about how much the TCD Farm area has changed over the years. I used to bring my girls down to watch the blacksmith work....he was there regularly working on horseshoes, and we have a couple of old horseshoes that he gave them as momentos. On this trip, in two weeks I never saw him there. Do they even use the blacksmith shop anymore?
The blacksmith was there last Thursday. We watched him for about 15 minutes while he was putting new shoes on a horse.

Trails inn does not accept magic bands. Trails end does. Where is this trails inn you speak of....lol
It's part of the new DVC at the Fort. Lol. My mistake. I was hungry when I typed it.

Just tried to make a purchase from Trails Inn and couldn't pay with my MB. The story we got was that the IT group is in the process of making a move to a new system and caused the outage for all of the parks and resorts. We were told that you can't pay with the MB, FP+ isn't working and people can't get into their rooms at any of the resorts. Not a very magical evening for some people.

Happen to stop at the Outpost.
300 campsite check-ins, 170 cabin check-ins and 190 cart rentals today, So if your heading this way you may find it crowded up front.
Glad we are already here today. Nice meeting you and Grandma this evening.
What Dave didn't tell you is all of those people will be on three sites in the 2000 loop.
I saw a popup and 3 cars on one site this evening. Does that count?

Looks good!
I feel better now since I'm not the only one who had their first globe turn out like this. We attempted to make our light this weekend. I guess the drill bit caught the globe wrong and it cracked into about 3 pieces. Our HD doesn't stock them either so now I'm waiting on a replacement.

Another awesome trip report! Thanks for sharing! I think I see a trip to Disneyalnd in my future.

It's a Reese hitch. I like Reese hitches.
It looks like I have the opposite set up.
I've already got the gooseneck. Or I'm I reading it wrong?
I might have read what you wanted to do wrong. I thought you wanted to remove the goosneck hitch and install a 5th wheel hitch but still have the option to pull a gooseneck. Is your gooseneck hitch a Reese?
-
On my previous truck I had the 5th wheel hitch rails installed in the bed. When I needed to pull my gooseneck trailer I used this adaptor. http://www.etrailer.com/Gooseneck/Reese/RP58079.html It worked well and I did not have any issues with it.

We stayed at Twin Creek in Gatlinburg this past summer and would stay their again if we go back to the area.

What you have (i.e. Class A, TT, 5th wheel): 41' 5th wheel
If you're towing (so TT or 5th wheel) how heavy is it: Approx 15,000 lbs loaded
If you tow, what is your tow vehicle: 2013 F350 DRW
Gas mileage: 9-10 towing, 15 empty
Do you like it, love it or hate it : Love it.
If you'd like to make a change, change to what and why: We consided a Class A but decided to stick with a 5th wheel. They both have pros and cons.

I'm in, and maybe even on the 2nd page. Great report as always.

Cooked these Saturday. 5 hours indirect heat with a temperture between 225-250.
And the finished product:
Fall off the bone tender. :drool1:

Cool video. Wish I would have gotten the chance to ride it.

I'm in! Wouldn't trade my BGE for anything!

Every one of those rules shouldn't be necessary if people these days had half a brain.
In fact, I'm surprised the rule listing doesn't begin with:
"Because we have determined over the course of the 43 years we have been in business that you all are ignorant, self-absorbed ass clowns, we hereby offer the following rules for our parks:"
Especially this one:
c. Please show common courtesy to fellow Park Guests and our Cast Members by not using profanity or engaging in unsafe, illegal, disruptive or offensive behavior.

I pretty much got the same blank stare from the staff at Art of Disney.
My husband called and spoke with someone at David Doss' studio. As he understood it, David Doss Disney prints are only available in WDW. Currently the only time the "Fun in Fort Wilderness" print is available is when he is showing in WDW. As the print gets older and newer prints are drawn, this print may become more readily available when he is not at WDW, which would explain why some prints can be found there and some can not. This is what we were told, so it may or may not be 100% true.
I missed him by 6 days. A friend went to DTD and picked one up for me. My Birthday present to myself!
I emailed the studio recently and was able to purchase a "Fun at Fort Wilderness" print directly from them. It took a few days for Robin (David's Wife) to respond but she was able to get my shipping and credit card information and send me a print. You might want to give email a try.

I can't stand to leave ours outside if we are not using it. Storing inside or under a cover definitely prolongs the life and cuts down on maintenance.
Totally agree. My last rv baked in the Texas sun while sitting in my driveway. The new fiver has stayed in a buidling at my house when not in use since we brought it home.

Thanks again everyone!

Sounds like you have ruled out any issues between the switch and motor. When the slide becomes fully retracted or extended, do you hear a clicking sound from the motor? If you do, those units usually do not have a control board. If this is the case, based on your statement "I have monitored the power as I hit the switch, with everything wired normally, and the voltage drops to 0 as soon as the switch is tripped and climbs back to 12v when released." it sounds like you have a bad connection somewhere between the switch and the battery. It sounds like there is enough of a connection between the switch and battery to provide 12 volts but once you hit the button there is not enough of a connection to operate the motor. I would inspect every connection between the switch and battery for corrosion/tightness.

Yay!
Are we going to have our own Fiend shareholders meetings?
Sounds like a plan. All Fiend shareholders should have a say in how in the Fort is ran.

Thanks for the info. Just bought one for my son who is 9 for Christmas using the free shipping code. I went with no frame (free) to save the $34 since I'm sure i can find one at a local store alot cheaper.

I thought I remembered seeing that dinosaur before.
We were camping at Dinosaur Valley State Park in Texas over Thanksgiving this past year:
From Texas Parks and Wildlife -"Dinosaur Models - The fiberglass models of the tyrannosaurus rex and apatosaurus were built by a New York artist, Paul Jonas, to exhibit at the New York City World’s Fair in 1964 - 65, then donated to the park in 1970"
