  1. Hi everyone, nice new site.  I promise not to post anything to bring everyone down.

Dan, I literally did a happy dance in my computer room when I saw you registered.  You are ALWAYS, ALWAYS welcome here FOREVER!  You are a fiend, period.  Let us help you like we have get through each day.  You keep posting and letting us keep you and your family in our prayers buddy!

    WE LOVE YOU MAN!

  2. I gotta get some flamingos, but can't decide between purple or burnt orange and navy blue.  Probably have to get both...then crimson and white for DW.  How many flamingos are allowed at each site at the Fort?

Oh, and Retired and Happy 41 is now back to Retired and Happy with thanks to our able administrators.

I had 12 fiendmingos.  They were very happy.  Now they have requested to be purple.  One has requested to be navy and one has requested to be orange.  I have told them they may have their wishes granted this weekend.  I will post pictures!

  3. After reading what Chris posted here I was thinking that bashing Disboards (can I phrase that here?) only shows envy, anger and jealousy which we all need to get over. The camping forum was pretty much all I really ever looked at and from what I hear it's pretty dead over there. We almost got everyone over here that we liked anyway.

One thing I would like to also point out is we are going to get people here that we don't always agree with and some are just gonna be goofy or whatever and I think we're just gonna have to put up with that and respect that not everyone thinks like most of us. I guess what I'm saying is let's be equal oppportunity snarks.

    6000 points for run-on sentences

However, you do have a good set of points.

  4. Scott and I own an auto painting company down here in Ft. Myers. (He does the painting, I do the paperwork)  That will take A LOT of paint!  And A LOT of clearcoat!!  Very expensive -- but if you have the equipment to spray it, it will be cheaper than bringing it someplace.

I would love to see you driving down the highway!!  It will definitely attract attention!

We are estimating 3 gallons for the orange, 2 gallons for the blue and a gallon for the white.  We are also going to look into making all the lights LED cuz I am sick and tired of changing bulbs.  My dad is a former body shop guy and does paint and body work to flybridges on sportsfishing yachts.  It is going to be a lot of sweat and bullets and we (yes the geek and me) are going to have to help him sand it.  It can be done because I refuse to pay 15K to paint the bus.

  5. My experience is that anybody that says RV repair (with the exception of one person I have found) will suck you dry of money.  I take my RV to marine mechanics.  Now, I know you are not near the ocean, however, find a person that does boat painting and get a quote.  I guarantee that person will do a better job and be half the price.  My diesel mechanic is a marine mechanic, so is my air conditioner guy, ice maker repair guy, transmission guy, alternator guy, and the list goes on forever.

  6. Over the Thanksgiving holiday my dad camped in my TT.  It was very cold that weekend.  He did use the heater, which is run by propane.  Well it started raining so he brought all the chairs and such in under the awning.  What he did wrong was lean my very expensive  :) lounge chair up against the TT blocking the furnace exhaust output "thingy".  When I pulled up to the site the next morning I almost crapped!!!!  The whole side of my TT was brown from smoke.  Most of the smoke came off, but there is a section closest to the output that the fiberglass and paint is cracked and screwed up!  So my question.............where do I go to get estimates to repair the damage?

Thank the Good Lord above that my dad didn't die that night.  While at the RV show yesterday a guy told me that there should be a safety function that should have turned off the heater when it got this hot.  I am just a women that doesn't understand all the jargon of mechanics, so if I just sound like a dumb*** just ignore this post!  If you understand what I am trying to say help me PLEASE!  ;)

psst, no stars are allowed here, 145 points for you!  say ass next time!

  7. After going to the RV show with Lorna, it became painfully apparent that 15-20K for a new paint job was out of the question for us.  So, we are gonna do it ourselves.  We had success with transforming the golf cart from a Gator cart to an Auburn cart, so we are now going to attempt to match the RV to the golf cart.  Crazy you say?  Why yes, we do things backwards in our family...

    Here is the concept drawing...

and yes, it is going to be the same orange as the cart...
