  1. Thank you all for the help! This what I am doing; 3.42 gears and pinion change, Detroit Truetrac differential, and CoilRite air bag spring helpers. Changing the gears alone will up my rating to about 8900 lbs, it has a factory tow package. Thanks again.
  2. Norm we are looking at the Rockwood Roo 233s. Your post was on the money!!
  3. All of you, thanks for the feed back!!! Hope to meet you at the Campground soon!!!
  4. Thanks Gang!! I have a 5.3 (323cui) with the 3.08. I just want to bump it to a 3.55, the little lady still drives daily. @ Rennie did you upgrade your brakes? I am stock from stem to stern.
  5. Rennie that helps some. I am looking more towards changing gearing and drive train upgrades to take the towing capacity to about 8,000lbs. Current set up with the GVRW for the burban is about 11,000. Fully loaded that takea my tow rating to about 3,700 lbs. Even the 233s i am looking at weighs more than that.
  6. Howdy All!!! I want to tow with my 2009 suburban, but it has a very limited towing capacity due to the 3.08 gear ratio. Has anyone upgraded theirs to get more pulling power from their burban?
  7. Hello All, I am going to jump in on this convo if it is ok. I have a few questions of my own. I have a 2009 Chevy Sis - burban. It contains a 5.3 with a 3.08 rear gear. It has a CGVWR of 11000 lbs, and GVWR of 7200 lbs. I am now a math professor, by my calc that is a 3800 lbs trailer With stuff inside at the maximum rating. Minniemom and I want to go with a Hybrid (Rockwood Roo 233S.) If I change the rear gearing to a 3.42, with the same engine I go up 500 lbs. The Sis - burban has a tow mode and a trans cooler in place already. What can I do to get 2000 lbs more towing capacity out of the Sis
  8. Dave, Check my avatar, his name is Maxx, he is a pure GP. He belongs to minniemom and I.
  9. Amanda, I have been looking at trailers for awhile...just waiting on bank account to catch up with my dreams. However yesterday looking for a combo for sale (5th wheel and tow vehicle) I found the website www. classyrv.com you will need to cut and paste and remove the space. Not associated with the site in any way, nor do I have anything for sale on it, thought you maybe interested. My $.02.
