I am finally getting around to doing our trip report for the weeks of August 27 to the Fort Fiend Dream Cruise on September 4, 2011

I was not so sure this trip was even going to happen. First we had an earthquake, then threats of hurricanes and then Hurricane Irene was about to shut the airport. Had a 6:55 AM flight out of Philadelphia and made it out just in time before they shut the Philadelphia airport. I was really beginning to think we were going to have a locust swarm on the way down. This was a girls only trip including me, my mother, sister and daughter. I have to say that this trip had to be one of the best vacations I have ever had. It gave me time to spend with my mother, my sister that I don’t see very often and a wonderful bonding experience with my soon to be married daughter.

We arrived in Orlando and rented a car and did some grocery shopping.

Got to the fort and checked and headed to our site. We rented a 5^th wheel from Camp at the Fort. It was all set up and ready for us when we arrived on site 1637. Site was nice but narrow.

The fort was not very crowded. Many empty sites. Air conditioning on and even two cases of bottled water that I requested. AWSOME!!!! We unpacked, ate lunch and headed to Downtown Disney to return the car and meet a friend that had moved to the Orlando area.

Headed back to the fort early as we were so beat. We had all gotten up at 3:00 AM to be at the airport by 5:00 AM so we wanted to turn in early. Had dinner at Trails End and headed to bed.

Great report. It was nice to meet you. We were so busy the whole trip that we really didnt get a chance to talk. I too enjoyed sitting in the water at Castaway Cay being waited on even there. It was great!!!!

Ok, noe i feel bad, i need to do a report too but just havent had time. You are right, it was hard to find your cabin on deck 5. we got so lost but i have to say your cabin was huge and that deck was awsome!!!

So where r we meeting tomorrow? In the terminal?

I am headed to bed now and leaving for the airport at 4:00 am. Irene is headed our way but not supposed to be here until tomorrow night. Sooooo, i hope i can still get out. WIll be at the fort by tomorrow afternoon. I will see all of you on the ship and some of you at the fort next Saturday. :banana:

I hope the hurricane doesn't hurt Castaway Cay like it did on our last cruise. We wound up going to Key West for our "island day".

I hope not too. Ive been to key west. While it is nice, i woulde prefer to visit castaway cay. I have never been there.

If I remember correctly she said if you paid the deposit and the final payment with your Disney Visa you got an extra $50 OBC from DCL

I think we used my moms disney visa to book but i used my debit to pay it off. Oh well, missed that one.

We are getting picked up at the fort at 9:30 and we have a 11:00 check in time. What is this about using disney visa for OBC. Someone please tell. I am leaving a week from Saturday :banana:

Did anyone else book Palo's?? We have dinner booked Monday night, but would cancel that if we could get brunch on Wednesday.

We didn't book any excursions. At Nassau we'll hit the straw market & walk the shops & maybe take a carriage ride to historic places & cemetery if the price is right (usually is). At CC we're just gonna hang out at Serenity Bay (adults only beach). If you want a suggestion.....do the parasailing at CC, it's fabulous!!

I am soooooo looking forward to this cruise:) It's the bestest birthday gift ever!!

Roz.....thanks for the gifts in the mail today! I need to know if you can book interliner? I might rebook onboard & they'll do interliner there & I could list you.

We have parasailing booked at Castaway Cay and Auquadventure at Nassua. Otherwise we will also be haning out at serenety bay. I also want to thank Roz, they are awsome!!!!

Another silly question? Is there a power outlet on the balcony?? Lets say I want to bring string lights and/or my rope light mickey head to put on the balcony, would that be possible??

Oh you have to do that, bring an extensions cord.

I don't think you can buy liquor early on Sunday. Could you get it Saturday at the Wal-Mart liquor store?

We wont have a car. We are flying in and renting a car from the airport to stop for groceries. We are renting Tina's 5th wheel. I guess i can always get to the liquor store then. But i will probably drink it all the week before we get on the ship. Hmmm, self control. So do you all think we will get sued for doing the same thing that the other place does? So Jen, what do you think. Dont want to cause a problem. C:-)

I think we are all late dinner. I have a sundress and capris and a nicer shirts for dinner. George has khakis and casual shirts for dinner. We are not ones to dress to eat.

Carol we are staying at the Sheraton on Saturday. I don't know what time we are gonna get there as of yet.

What time is everyone set to arrive at the port? I know our shuttle is at 11.

We have a limo picking us up at the fort at 9:30. Our arrival time is 11:00 so we may be a little early. May have to change the pickup time. We do plan a stop at the store on the way. Does anyone know if liquor stores are open that early and can they sell on Sunday mornings. I remember on our last trip we couldnt buy beer on sunday morning.
