  1. The reality at RV shows is that the units shown have factory incentives attached.  You may not have much wiggle room with the dealers, and if you go to the dealership afterwards you may not be able to get the same price - factory incentives are gone.  Poof. I have found the prices at show are pretty low.  The drawback is you are buying the unit there which 500 people and their dirty kids have run through, jumping on the beds and dripping ice cream on the sofa.  I have heard some real horror stories from people who picked up their units after buying at a show.  That being said, I have heard many happy individuals who have gotten some really good deals at shows.

  2. This topic is what started the ball rolling for me getting banned on some other site - somebody asked if staying at the fort was worth it, and I said no.  I believe the mouse is approaching that price where it just isn't going to be worth it to stay at FW anymore.  If neighboring camgrounds are smart, instead of raising their fees to that level, they will keep the prices down and offer more activities to attract campers.  If the mouse sees revenues falling and empty campsites during "peak" season, maybe they will rethink things.  Either that or Bobby will use it as an excuse to shut it down and expand the proposed DVC resort.  Amazing that during this recession, Disney has done nothing but raise prices.

  3. The hospital I work for gave us a card for 25 bucks at Christmas.  At first, I was excited - hey, I can take the wife out on the hospital.  Then I went online and tried to redeem it and found out it was a discount off your tab at restaurants we never go to.  So to save 25 bucks, I had to spend 50 bucks at a restaurant I didn't like.  I guess if you can find a discount someplace you normally go to, it is worthwhile.

  4. I think that the Outback is a nice made unit thay seem to be popular as I have seen alot in our travels, the only thing I did not care for was the white interior but that's just me.

The all white interiors were discontinued in 2009.  They did keep the white upper cabinets in the the Kitchen, but all other cabinets and the cover on the refrigerator is a darker brown.

  5. My son would kill me if I didn't mention his company's attraction, The Sum of All Thrills.  It's at innoventions, sponsored by Raytheon, and you design one of three types of courses, then get on a motion simulator and ride what you designed.  The motion simulators are more open air than the ones at Disneyquest, and are mounted on the robotic arms many auto manufacturers use.  It's more for older kids, but I have seen a number of little kids that liked it, too.

  6. I used to do a fair amount of woodworking before we moved into this house.  We moved here 16 years ago and my woodshop still isn't set up, other than my radial arm saw and bandsaw which I needed for some remodelling projects.  My dad was really into it.  After he died, I brought home a lot of his stuff from his shop, but it is still in boxes in mine.  Maybe in 6 years when I plan on semi-retiring I will get around to it.  My son is trying to get me interested in helping him build a bar.  So far, just in the planning stages.
