One catch to Lou's plan... if you're going to Epcot on a weekend during Food & Wine (which btw, I do NOT advise) you may not be able to park at Boardwalk, as Epcot resorts sometimes crack down on non-resort guest parking during those weekends.
That happened to me. I was at WDW several years ago in October and wanted to park at Boardwalk so I could watch that night's World Series game at ESPN. I wasn't allowed in the parking lot.

I found a few books at Barnes and Noble under "Camp and Camping - Children's Fiction".
Here are a few:

Just me and My Dad

Yum!
I'm thinking a little rum and some coconut would make nice additions to that recipe.
Maybe a few pecans. Canned pie filling would probably work, too.

I found this recipe for Pineapple Upside Down Cake (sort of) cooked on the grill in foil packets. It looks good and easy. SaraLee has pound cake in the freezer section that has individually wrapped slices. It would be very handy for camping.

I just checked with my sister-in-law about the kids clubs. She said there are two age groups for the cruises they have been on - up to 12 and over 12. She said the younger boy spent every minute he could in the club. This year the older girl (who is on the shy side) didn't spend much time there because she was happier spending her days with her grandparents.

DIT: I don't meet your criteria; but, my brother and sister-in-law along with their daughter and her family take the Holland America Alaska cruises every two to three years. The kids are now about 12 and 14. They add ground excursions to Fairbanks and Denali onto one end or the other depending on where they start. This year they flew to Fairbanks, stopped in Denali for several days, and ended up in Seward where they joined the cruise. One of the reasons they like Holland America is because the ships are smaller and can make it into areas where the larger ones can't. Their high reccommendation of Holland America was why Joyce and I selected them for our Canadian Maritimes cruise last year.

Carol: Did you replace the screws because you wanted to or had to? Were the originals cheap, too?

I ended up buying an ez up type one today at our new Gander Mountain. It was on sale and came in a carrying case with screens and three solid sides (I can't think what they are called right now ). I'll put it up in the backyard tomorrow.

He bought a blowup movie screen and is showing old movies this weekend!

Elvis and Hawaii... Where is this going to take us?

What a great trip report! Thanks for posting it. :)

If I buy my hopper passes thru my NYSUT benefits will I be able to link them in MDE and take advantage of FP+ or do I have to buy the tickets thru Disney?
I just checked the MDE app and there are two options: Enter ID and Scan Ticket. I get tickets through the local military base. They have a bar code or one of those square thingies that I take a picture of and that links them to the Magic Band. Perhaps yours will work the same way.

According to London's Sky News:
"Bo Jones, of the Reedy Creek Fire Department, told Sky News it is possible the thrill-seeker did not keep his hand inside the ride. "We received a call from a Disney cast member informing us that a guest had been injured, so we responded and he was treated at a local hospital. It was a non-emergency situation," he said. "He was around 57 years old. What the medic told me is was he was saying, 'I had my hand on the side of the boat and I shouldn't have. It was all my fault.'"

Sports talk was speculating today that the Rangers hit rock bottom last night. Tonight the Rangers have a pick ax and are working on chipping at the rock. 10-2 LA of A in the 4th. Two really bad errors. One "OMG I'm scared the ball might hit me... duck!!!" error and one lazy in the glove and... drop... It is ugly.
PS: the Rangers have allowed at least 8 runs in 5 straight games.

Giddy up and go... Chicken dinner with the fixin's from The Fort's Trails End restaurant.

I've never gone to Downtown Disney.
That means you've never eaten at Earl of Sandwich. Boy, are you missing out!

Welcome! I hope you will get to see Osborne Lights at Hollywood Studios. They are spectacular.

That makes sense, Harold. Thanks for the input.

After being swept by the lowly Houston Astros, the Texas Rangers are now is last place....not just in the AL West... in all of baseball. Bummer.
DET has Ian Kinsler batting over .300 and the Rangers have an out-for-the-year Prince Fielder who can currently be seen posing naked on ESPN. That's one vision I could have done without.

Yes, stand alone. There's only one awning with screens made for an Aliner but I don't want to put out the $$$ for it.

The top on this straight legged one from Gander Mountain looks to have a bit more support . I wonder it this would help with the water collection issue?

Camping local can be nice, cause you don't have to "remember" everything!! A great spot for your "reshakedown"
We did a local camping trip last weekend, too. It was nice to be able to run home to pick up the mail, feed the cat and take a nice shower without worrying about the folks waiting their turn. :)

I wonder how they are handling the groups that assign one person to stand in line while the rest of their group wanders the park then expect to be able to get in line where the person they left behind is? I had that trouble with Olivander's Wand Shop. Not fun.
