How many times do you..
Judy in Texas replied to disney92's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
1-2 times a year... 20 hours/1150 miles each way... . That's why we fly and stay at Pop Century most times. Hoping to get 2 weeks vacation this year so we can drive and stay at The Fort again. -
1500 Loop Fans
Judy in Texas replied to Just Whipperwhirl's topic in Fort Wilderness Loops Information
The only site I wouldn't want to have is the first one on the right, 1501 I think. It is right up against the bus stop. No such thing as sleeping in once the busses start running. If sleeping in isn't your thing, then it might not be so bad. It's right next to the Comfort Station. I stayed in 1502 which is right across the road from the Comfort Station. Here is a view of it from site 1501: -
Stay away from the big convention hotels. I stayed on Maui (Ka'anapali Beach) and Oahu (Waikiki Beach) with groups of over 2,000 people each time. I wouldn't have wanted to pay good $$ to stay at the hotel with our group there. My friend wanted to drive the Road to Hana. We got part way there when I got car sick. Not fun. Next time I'll take my motion sickness patches. Make sure you daughter sees and understands Pearl Harbor. Too many younger folks don't understand its importance in our history and don't care to learn:

If each of you doesn't already have a National Park Passport I suggest you get them. They are the size of a regular Passport but with sections for each region of USA. Each National Park, Monument and some Nation Forest visitor centers have inked passport stamps. It's fun to collect the stamps and then to look back at where you have been. The only cost is the original outlay - $8.95 each. National Park Passports: http://passport.eparks.com/store/ Also make sure you get a National Parks pass. On a trip like you are talking about it will pay for itself quickly. http://www.nps.gov/fees_pa

Wolfgang Pucks Express at Disney Marketplace
Judy in Texas replied to Live4FW's topic in Dining Reviews and Information
I like the Wolfgang Puck Express mac'n cheese. I order a side portion and then a salad. The entre portion is way too much of a good thing. -
We look my friend's 80 year old parents to the Grand Canyon last year because it was on their bucket list. We stayed in a small cabin about 20 yards from the rim. It was awesome. You might try sitting on the El Tovar Lodge porch in the rocking chairs at sunrise or sunset to watch the colors change. If you drive up to Glen Canyon Dam, please note that you are not allowed to take ANYTHING in the visitors center and the parking lot is not monitored. We decided not to go in because we didn't want to leave cameras, cell phones, purses unattended in the car. If you are going to Custer State

Earl of Sandwich
Judy in Texas replied to Millermouseketeers MaryAnn's topic in Dining Reviews and Information
We eat at Earl of Sandwich at least twice each trip and I really love the holiday Sandwich. There is an Earl of Sandwich about 4 1/2 hours south of us in San Antonio. Once the weather warms up we're thinking about driving down for lunch. -

Makes my heart feel good to see the effort everyone is going through to find their way here. -
Where to take a picky man to eat at Disney...
Judy in Texas replied to Lil Lisa's topic in Disney Trips
I have a friend who swears by Le Cellier. Keep in mind that you need to make reservations as far in advance as possible. This last trip we tried to get reservations 2 months out and it was booked. -
Oh boy! A trip report! I LOVE the Osbourne (sp?) Lights. Thanks for sharingl
