Riverside definitely still runs the boat to Disney Springs.

For monorail hopping using free Disney transport bus to MK and monorail from there.

Thank you. I thought MK was where to get on the monorail. Its been too long since I have been to Disney.

I also recall taking a big boat across the lake. Does this take you to the main monorail hub?

What Jason said - avoids having to throw a couple extra buses in the mix at Disney Springs.

We like poking around the main areas inside the resorts - lobby, shops, bars and lounges (there are quite a few of those!)  Some have more to explore than others and some (like GF) are super spread out. Also a good time to check out anything you think you might be interested in later on - like the spa or Narcoosees at GF, Trader Sam's at Poly.

And then just generally exploring the grounds - wander down towards the lake, check out the beach areas.

If you want to expand the tour a bit, hop a boat from MK or Contemp and go poke around the Wilderness Lodge.  The lobby alone there is impressive and it's lovely to grab a quick snack or a drink at Geyser Point along the lake.  Also the whole new DVC area nearby is really cool.

For other free stuff there's always poking around Disney Springs.  Lots to see and in the evening lots of places where you can hear live music for free.

These are great ideas. Thank you.

Do you have children who would be interested in playgrounds or children's activities at a resort?

     TCD

It will only be my husband and I.

  2. Hi

I know a lot of you out there are Disney experts.

If I can manage a trip to Disney this summer. I would like to visit some of the resorts via the monorail. We will probably be staying at  Port Orleans, Riverside. What would be the best way to do this using Disney transportation? And does anyone know if Riverside still runs the boat to Disney Springs? We will probably only go to a park for 1 day and I am looking for other things to see and do. ( for free would be great)

Also, what are some interesting things to see at the resorts?

    Thanks

I made this tonight. It was very good.

I don't buy the Little Debbie cakes, because I will eat the whole box. And I am trying to cut down on sugar and processed food. But sometimes I would like to have cake, lol !

This was fast and easy. It could use less sugar though.

After I made the cake. I scrolled down the website and found the sugar cookie recipe. That will be what I will try next.

  4. I just wanted to say, Thank You, to all of you that have written and are writing travel reports.

My Dad had a stroke a few weeks ago and has been in and out of the hospital. Reading your

travel reports have helped give me a break from the hospital boredom. I have enjoyed reading them.

Dad is now home and doing pretty good. He is having trouble walking, (very weak and unsteady) but has

    been getting physical therapy.

    Thanks again!

He's my hometown guy....I grew up with this man.  If you ever get a chance,  come to town and see his bronze sculpture.  On a side note, when I was growing up, Handy Man Joe Negri lived in the house behind us.  If you know who that is, upvotes for you!

I grew up watching him too. Watched him everyday after school. He was a good man.

I will take part of the blame for that.  I have been very sick during 2017 and I am not a very public person.  The WWW group has known because we all talk privately on our phones.  However, I have been doing all I can just to keep my head up at work.  In addition, I was attacked at school after my surgery (to fix what was wrong) and had to immediately change jobs.  If you noticed, I disappeared.  I didn't mean to but something had to give and that is why I have some other people who help me in the background who I could not thank enough.  My goal in 2018 is to hopefully get everything back up to steam.  I cannot and will not beg people to come back, however, I can recruit new people to stop by for information.  I am not here to spread pixie dust, but the real deal.  I am working on being at Disney more often and reporting from there for the site.  The app will be updated this year come hell or high water and work on all platforms.  (or supergeek will not go to Blizcon, hahaha)  I apologize for not being the admin you expected me to be.  Unfortunately, when I get sick, I get really sick.  I will do better.  We will also be camping more and hopefully we can get some GG's planned for the year as well.  I know it is not much of a comfort for 2017, but it can be a building block for 2018.  Every site goes through ups and downs.  We have had our down and now it is time to go up again.

I had noticed you have been away for quite some time ( There haven't been very many yummy recipe's being posted, lol! )  I hope things are looking up for you, and I look forward to a great 2018!

  7. Nice photos and great report (really enjoy the humor)!

I understand the excitement in everything hot air balloon related. In our area every year for Derby we have balloon glows and early morning balloon races. They allow the crowd to mingle and experience the balloons preparing for the show or race. Totally awesome.

I have taken a ride in a hot air balloon, a gift from my husband, it was an incredible ride. Rough landing though !
