It?s being said that the Yeti has been covered by a scrim for the time being, possibly to perform some kind of work on the giant figure. I?m not sure if this is another minor ?fix? or if they are attempting to fix the problem once and for all. According to one anonymous tipster, the Yeti figure appeared to have been skinned, allowing work to be done to the mechanical insides, which seems to indicate that some kind of repair is taking place, though this is still not expected to be a full blown fix. In fact, according to one story, the word going around was that Disney may have been looking into replacing the Yeti finale with a new projection effect instead at one point.(3/22/11) For all you Disco Yeti fans out there, you may want to check out this funny music parody (below) that pokes fun at Disney and is sung by the Disco Yeti himself. Speaking of the Yeti? I?ve got a quick update on the situation. I?m told that the proposal to use a projection effect was said to be just a temporary addition if they opted to go for a long term fix of the Yeti figure. When he does return, there will be some motion once again. It wont be the same old motion program, it should be something new.
