Buyer beware!! Info from Doctor Disney on the latest ticket scam - this time aimed at DL.

New Scam Promising Free Disneyland Tickets Hits Facebook – Don’t Accept Invitation
January 9, 2015 by Doctor Disney Leave a Comment

A new year doesn’t mean that the scammers are going to stop trying to get your information and more. There’s a new scam being passed around Facebook, and this one states you can “Get Tickets TO Disneyland for No Cost,” but again…it’s a scam so don’t fall for it.

The scam going around this time is one that is not a Facebook page like so many others have been in the past, but it’s in the form of a Facebook “event.” I’ve been invited to this one a number of times now, and it’s ridiculous.
The event is not official and it’s just completely and totally fake. It’s connected to a Facebook page called “Disney Trips” that has been around less than a week. May I also point out that for free tickets to Disneyland, it would be smart to try and fool people…NOT with a photo of Walt Disney World as your cover photo.
Here is what the event says to do:

We’re Giving away tickets to Disneyland at No cost to a certain lucky users.
To get yours, Follow the steps below :
Step 1 : Click on “Join” at the top of the page.
Step 2 : Click ” Invite Friends” at the top of the page and Invite 50-200 friends (*NOTE* The more friends you invite, the more tickets you are eligible for!).
Step 3: Comment how many tickets you need (1-4)
Step 4: Visit link given below in ‘Pinned Posts’ to qualify.
Wish everyone a Happy New Year! We will announce the winners soon.

Then, there is a pinned comment stating this:

Step 4 : [link deleted] <- Please visit this website and register to confirm your participation. ( Doctor Disney Note: DO NOT GO!)

I’ve removed the clickable link because I don’t want anyone clicking through to the site. There isn’t even a preview of the link to tell you where it goes so it’s a scam and most likely being used to get your information or have you sign up for something.

Avoid sites like this or the other scams for VIP Passes, fake sites leading to a virus, and other Facebook scam Disney pages.

And the FB pages that have a period at the end of the title are fake too, stop sharing them people!!

I took that FB page link out of the quoted post too, just in case.

There are so many "FREE DISNEY TICKETS" scams out there on FB - I see people sharing them around all the time.  Unless you see something posted directly by Disney, or it's a contest to WIN Disney tickets posted by a company you actually know, chances are really good it's probably a scam. Usually they're run by people trying to get clicks for their website (on the benign end), spread a virus, or part you with your money. And since anyone can put up a FB page in minutes... be especially wary of those.

I've never seen anything legit posted by Disney or anyone else that was a way to get FREE, real tickets.

But hey, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn that I'll sell ya for cheap!  B)
