BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
From the Disney Food blog... House of Blues Crossroads Menu Comes to WDW’s Downtown Disney in DecemberNov 12th, 2011 by AJ.Thanks to Andy Jackson over at Eating (and Drinking) Around the World for sending over the photo below!Celebrity Chef Aaron Sanchez is leaving his mark on the House of Blues chain of restaurants by introducing his new “Crossroads” menu, a fusion of food representing “music, love, art, and spirituality.”A Crossroads menu was introduced in Disneyland’s House of Blues this summer, and the above announcement notes that a Crossroads menu will be moving into Disney World’s House of Blues restaurant in December, 2011.While we’re not certain they’re the same exact menu, the new menu in Disneyland keeps HoB favorites like jambalaya, and adds new signature dishes including shrimp and grits, short rib meatball sliders, hand stretched grilled flatbreads, chile braised short ribs, and street tacos. Guest favorites like cornbread, pulled pork sandwiches, and signature burgers will still be on the menu, but will be updated.Hand-Stretched Flatbreads at House of Blues CrossroadsCheck out the full Disneyland Crossroads menu here at All Ears. There’s no telling if the Disney World menu will be slightly different, or if it will incorporate the same changes. My fingers are crossed that my white chocolate bread pudding stays on the dessert menu! What do you hope the restaurant keeps serving?http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2011/11/12/house-of-blues-crossroads-menu-comes-to-wdws-downtown-disney-in-december/

mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
I really need to get myself over there to eat. That's one of the few places I haven't tried.
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
We had drinks and apps there last year - not impressed. The calamari was so salty it was pretty much inedible. When the waitress asked why we left so much behind and we told her, she said lots of people had complained about it. Hopefully the new menu will be a nice change. I love the atmosphere there.
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
From the Disney Parks blog. Anyone tried the new menu yet? New Tastes at Crossroads at House of Blues in Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World Resortposted on January 24th, 2012 by Pam Brandon, Disney Parks Food WriterWe’re fans of House of Blues just for the incredible collection of folk art – we visit just to enjoy the fantastic paintings. When we headed back last week, we found some new menu items – and tweaks to old favorites. If you loved the HOB shrimp and grits, the new version is just as delicious, but now the grits are fried in a crispy cake, smothered in a chipotle garlic cream sauce with six pan-seared shrimp. If you’re trying to behave, the new grilled flatbreads are a winner: they grill the dough then finish it in the pizza oven. The simple basil pesto and tomato was our favorite.Cornbread is back minus the rosemary, jambalaya returns without shrimp, but with a hefty serving of chicken and spicy Andouille sausage. The diverse menu runs the gamut from lobster mac & cheese to street tacos and generous salads, but we have to say that the new Juicy Lucy burger topped our list of favorites. The Angus beef was stuffed with cheese and Applewood bacon, then topped with crispy pickled jalapeños and chipotle mayo. We split it three ways. The wine list is all new, and you’ll find 15 beers plus local micro brews and a full bar. When you’re really hungry, end with an order of bourbon bread pudding, now served with a splash of bourbon, or the new molten chocolate cake – then stroll Downtown Disney end to end to burn those calories.http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2012/01/new-tastes-at-crossroads-at-house-of-blues-in-downtown-disney-at-walt-disney-world-resort/
mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
HoB is one place I've never tried
WannaBeImagineer 98
I've been! And I tried the new menu.I used to love the House of Blues and went there all the time. Sometimes for just a drink and the music but a lot of times to eat. We really liked a couple of the appetizers, shrimp over cornbread, and the catfish bites, some of the other things were just ok, but we also enjoyed it for the most part. Then on this last trip over MLK weekend, we went not knowing about the new menu, and honestly we weren't happy to see the change. Everything seemed fancier and not the down home southern anymore with the exception of a few things. They didn't even have a shrimp po-boy anymore, or the dishes from the Blues Brothers movies. Anyway two of us had the Jucy Lucy burger with fries and my wife tried the turkey burger with sweet potato fries. I have to admit it was great! My burger was very good, they were all pretty spicy but thats how we like it. The food was all served real fancy like which I don't care for, and they all came with three different sauces for the burger and fries.I guess my review is, the food was good but pricey. I still love the atmosphere and music but the menu lost a little something for me. I'm sure we'll go back one day but we'll think twice before eat there.WBI
