Infographic: What Does It Take to Decorate Walt Disney World for the Holidays?

posted on December 21st, 2011 by Jennifer Fickley-Baker, Social Media Manager

Every year I’m wowed by the amazing holiday decorations that seem to cover each of our parks and resorts here at Walt Disney World Resort. And I love looking at the stats on just how many Christmas trees, wreaths and other decorations we have on display, because the amounts are always amazing!

Take a look at the infographic below to see what it took to decorate Walt Disney World this year alone!

Each holiday season Holiday Services decorates all WDW resorts, Disney's Vero Beach Resort, Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort), WDW theme parks, 2 cruise ships, the DCL terminal, Castaway Cay, the Disney Reservation Centers, DTD, and more than 400 shops.

The warehouse covers approximately 50,000 square feet of space.

The decorating is done during the third shift while guests are sleeping.

Holiday Services moves about 150 semi-trailers of decorations each holiday season.

Almost 8.5 million lights, 15 miles of garland, 1,314 wreaths, 300,000 yards of ribbon.

Excuuuuuuuuuuse me, but that's old news. The above was posted in April.

Ok, so I didn't have the graphics and it was a little early, big deal.
