Americamps KOA Ashland, VA. / I95

Recommended Posts

We have stayed here only once so far a couple of years ago. It seemed nice and clean. A little heavy on the gravel everywhere but the website says they have completely renovated the campground and put in concrete pads.

Open year round, easy on and off I95, dog friendly, pull through sites.

8 miles north of Richmond.  Doesn't say if they still have after hours sites available but every KOA we have stopped at has had it (when they still have sites left.... always best to call ahead)

We have stayed at this campground twice on our way to FW.  The location is great for an overnight stop... about 2 minutes from I95 just north of the 295 bypass around Richmond.

We found the work campers to be very friendly and the campground well maintained.  I would definitely recommend this location as an overnight stop or for anyone visiting the Richmond area.

As a side note, we were told that the owners of the campground also own American Heritage RV Park in Williamsburg, VA.  We have stayed at American Heritage also and thought it was great.  According to Trailer Life, it is the highest rated campground in Virginia.
