Rauguste 0
We vacation at the Fort a few times per year. This past February I met a fellow camper who was with a bunch of other campers staying for longer than 30 days. She told me that there were discounts if you camped with at least 10 others staying the same dates. Is this true? If so how can we contact the right people to get started? We are season pass holders from NJ if that matters. Any help and feedback is welcome. We love the fort and look forward to extended stays. :-)Rene
PureTcrazy...rita 380
Hi :welcome: to FF! I'm not sure about the rates, but I'm sure someone will jump in soon!
mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
That is know as a "group reservation". If you book at least 10 sites for set dates, then there is a discount on the sites, but not really very much. There are two types of group reservations. One is where you say I need x number of sites for x range of dates, then you give out the group reservation phone number and the contract number for your "group". Then folks call and make their reservations under your group reservation and everyone is responsible for their own money. They "try" and put you together, and there is a small discount. The other kind is where one person is on the hook for all the money, and you can commandeer an entire loop if you wish. I'm guessing the discount is higher for that one, but only one person takes all the risk.Individuals for longer stays must compete for the same discounts as everyone else, searching for AAA, Passholder, and/or Florida resident rates. The maximum reservation length is 30 nights, but you can have consecutive reservations.

Rauguste 0
Is there a way to become part of an existing group that is camping during the time we want to book?Or is that just asking for too much, LOL

Also getting this bunch to agree on anything is like herding cats, so we haven't attempted a group reservation in a couple of years.

Grumpy and Grandma 739
We do extended stays several times a year and the discounts, as was said, will vary. Depends on the time of the year and how many that are available. AP discounts (when available) are only good for 14 day stays so you have to make back to back reservations in 14 day blocks. Rhonda has been making our reservations and most of our discounts have been AAA. If your going to be there FEB 2013, see you there.ALSO:
Rauguste 0
Very funny, we are G-Ma and Grumpy to our grandson. We'll definitely be there in February. We just have to figure out the dates. This past Februarywe were in the 600 loop. Great Great Great location and it's pet friendly. We are AAA members so I will check on those discounts. (? AP discounts ?)

rdancemom... Pam 113
In the past AP rates were always the way to go but for the past couple years, I've found the AAA rates to be better than AP. It's also nice to be able to book AAA in advance without having to wait. AP codes are typically not released more than 3-6 months in advance.
