  1. Gwen you travel the path from the Lodge to the Fort often. How far from your camper to the Lodge would you say it is?
  2. We all enjoy bike rides and usually bike for miles at a time. I just see so much on golf carts that I wasn't sure if I was missing some major advantage to them.
  3. I hadn't thought of night riding, good suggestion. My older boys would have the freedom to ride but the younger crew would stay by the camper maybe allowed to ride around the loop.
  4. We have thought about coming down twice a year. Once for parks/camping and the other just camping.
  5. Is the camp ground so big that looping with a bike would be too much? Do you use the carts to avoid internal buses? Do you feel safe with the children riding their bikes around?
  6. Bringing bikes down to the Fort is so much cheaper than renting a golf cart for 20 days. You get more exercise with a bike. Lets discuss this because I have never stayed at the Fort and am flying blind to it's size and traffic.
  7. Oh mercy that looks yummy. After drinking that they might be calling management about a crazy drunk lady. Mixed drinks are my downfall. They just taste so good you tend to forget how many you have had.
  8. I just read an article about why Disneyland has a different feel to it besides it's quaint size. The theory is that Disneyland is visited by mainly locals and that they received very little tourists. The locals are actually second and third generations who have grown up there. This, I think, explains why you are not seeing the character craziness and people are calmer and nicer. The article goes on to say that WDW is set up for the masses and yet Disneyland seems to "huge you" as you enter in. I think a trip to DL is going on the bucket list. Really enjoying the pictures!!
  9. Not so sure about the character thing but it is weird. Agreed on the jogging and like it style strollers. Especially the ones where that stupid long pole juts out in front with a wheel on it. Really they should not be allowed into the parks as they can be dangerous. It has been 7 years since we have been back to WDW so I was not aware that folks were actually using those. Since we are reflecting back I also remember when you could just walk up to just about any restaurant and eat. We used to get to the park and make dinner reservations at the Diamond Horseshoe Saloon. Another thing you c
  10. When I was younger you used to be able to just walk up and get your picture taken with any character you liked. They were everywhere and no one rushed them and most of the time they were by themselves. When my husband and I honeymooned in 1999 I was surprised to see the meet and greets and the long lines for them. 15 years later and trying to get pictures with characters is even worse. I mean a fp for a meet and greet, really? They also used to have fire coming out of the torches going into adventure land. I used to marvel at how they stayed lit even in the rain. Also at the Poly at night th
  11. Bet ya had lots of folks stopping and starring as you pulled in. Glad you made at but hope the bushes didn't get the best of you back end.
  12. I know I am new here on Fort Fiends but I love the community already. I hope my family is able to meet many of you face to face one day. Enjoying your TR keep em coming! :D
  13. Great tip! Thanks That was kind of what I was thinking but mercy I know what 4 or 5 days worth looks like around here But then again I really do not want to be going over every other day either.
  14. Really, you would think they could be creative in some kind of offer. Maybe limit it to only 6 guests. The Fort is not the only Red Headed Step Child in WDW property is it?

  16. Thanks for the answers and the fun hijacking. Not on the Beer topic but certainly the accent, google how to peel potatoes fast. It is a youtube video of a German or maybe Russian guy. Interesting video but funny accent. I am a Mikes kind of gal. btw how do you tell the difference between a German and a Russian?
  17. I have noticed that the Fort is left out of the DDP and just curious as to why?
  18. Unbelievable, the nerve of some people. I just don't understand that mind set.
