  1. Loretta, you will break even on the card once you spend $500 in food/drinks. After that you will actually save 20% of every dollar. We saved a ton on our last card, but we paid for several 8-person meals. With just the two of us, three weeks is about the break-even point. But we time our trips so we get at least 2 trips on each set of AP/TIW.

There are usually 5 of us, but sometimes 8, so I haven't weighed out for less than that, but if you plan to do several sit down meals I definitely think it's worth it. Especially on character meals.

  2. I think 10 nights has been our max, but that might change this summer.

We ALWAYS do the beach in June, but my hubby might have to cancel because of work. I told him he could make it up to me by dropping Z and me at the Fort. It helps that I'd have various friends staying with us for periods and splitting the site with me.

We usually stay at the fort then cocoa beach for a week. We have a dj business that messes with our weekends for long stays too.
  3. We saw it last night with a full row of little girls.  We loved it and cried (it was very sad, even though we knew what would happen).  We were sad there wasn't more singing and that the prince wasn't more charming looking.  But, the costumes were amazing and the castles and scenery were awesome.  The Frozen madness at the beginning was totally confusing and I don't understand why we should even continue the insanity and mix it again with Cinderella, but that is a whole other conversation.  Everyone around was confused by the song in the Frozen Madness or whatever it was called because it was like just taking a conversation that was useless and turning it into a bad song.  At least the actual movie did have fun, catchy songs.

  4. I see what you did there! We are close for sure, and we're heading down in a few weeks. I teach as well and we also have AP's.

    Again, welcome aboard

Awesome.  We are hoping not to have to go to school all summer with all of our snow days.  We can go for 22 days this summer, we hope to be able to rake up enough $$ to stay at the fort for at least a week or two...but that doesn't come cheap, does it?

  5. We always do the boat to the Magic Kingdom, but we are probably some of the only ones with ZERO patience for buses.  This could be in large part to us having 3 small children and a double stroller.  I know everyone loves to see us all fighting when we get on the bus :)  The last couple of times, we haven't had our own car and have had to ride the buses.  I just feel like we have such a huge time loss with them.  If we don't have a golf cart to get to the settlement, we often walk.  If you don't have kids, the buses aren't as bad, but definitely plan for a long wait time unless you get lucky.  Also, if you are there at a busy time, they seem to be packed and you often see people that are so rude, they sit when there is someone who obviously needs their seat...but I would stand, holding on with my 50 lb., squirmy, 3 year old in order to give a seat up to someone who looks like they need it worse than me.

  6. Welcome! I see your not too far from us, is the name a Keisel reference?!?

Anyway, I'd have to say- for towing as far as we do from PA/WV area, after buying a tow dolly and all of that- It would be much cheaper to either rent a cart, or rent a car.  Florida rental cars are DIRT cheap.

    Hope you enjoy you're trip!

    AP

Mountaineer reference. Sorry, we are all reds and WVU fans here. We are close!
  7. Welcome!!

I'd be concerned the cart won't work in the Ranger, and if you put a cart in the bed of a Silverado you'll exceed the motorhome's 5k lb hitch rating.  My opinion is that you'll have a tough time pulling everything you want to pull with a gas motorhome....I've gone through these considerations in my own mind.

The only thing I can think that MAY work would be to trailer the Cavalier and a cart.  Not sure how heavy a trailer would be that would fit both....but Cavaliers don't weigh too much so it might work.  But minivans and Silverados are too heavy IMO.

We agree we are concerned about the weight. I have seen the tow things where you drive the cart up sideways then just drive up on two wheels. Have you seen these?

Thanks for all of the hospitality guys :)

  8. Hi Fiends. With this being our first post, we thought we would introduce ourselves before we started asking questions or being nosy (we are good at this) :). Any post could me (Julie) or my husband (Will). We have 2 daughters, Jorja-8 and Ashtyn-6. We also have a 3 year old son named Jack and a 5 year old yellow lab named Peter Pan, or Pete. We are annual passholders. I'm a high school teacher and my husband is a professor. We have a Minnie Winnie bunk house class c. Before the motorhome, we were cabin addicts. We enjoy the page. We first somehow stumbled upon a post about the "abomination" which was too entertaining to pass up. We will usually be seen chasing our wild son or you could even see my husband beating the stroller off the side of a bus...keeping it real magical :). Anyway, glad to participate...looking for ideas of the easiest way to tow a car or small truck with a golf cart so that we do not have to ride buses anywhere. We can tow a cavalier or ford ranger club cab if we swap our mini van or chevy Silverado with our parents...any ideas are appreciated!
