  1. Where do you get your meats? Do you do brisket? Up here in Tampa the prices are ridiculous.

I use a Masterbilt electric upright. Has done me good.

I also have a Char Broil Big Easy IR cooker and a Blackstone pizza oven.

I do brisket, I follow Paul kirks brisket rub and use a mustard slather, comes out great and I get a nice smoke ring.

10314454_10100677551648195_2008742414372I get my meat from win dixie most of the time, I also think the meat department at BJ's is good as well

  2. I don't think I got feedback on this....

I know that we don't want a truck that is lifted (I mean, it's ugly...right!  Yes, I know there are other reasons :) ).    However... if found a good truck that was lifted, could we lower it and be okay??

that all depends on the lift, some are easy bolt on, some are welded.

if your going to go back to stock, the lifts that use spacers will be the easiset ro revert back to normal.

just unbolt, remove the spacer, and replace the hardware and shocks.

if its more than spacers, say factory brackets removed and things welded or bolted on, its going to get pretty involved pretty quickly.

in either case, you are going to replace the shocks, nuts bolts and other hardware, so keep that in mind for cost purposes.

  3. I have been in to BBQ/ Smoking for quite some time now and by the looks of it there are others that share this passion.

Not sure if any of you have heard of the website http://www.amazingribs.com

Before I purchased my smoker I did research there and they have lots of reviews on products, as well as a meal planing area, I have made a bunch and can tell you not a single one has come out bad.

I highly recommend Memphis dust, its a home made spice rub that i use on everything.

I personally own a Traeger Jr Elite, at the time cost was important to me and i was able to get it for $350

    1428873_orig.jpg

it has folding legs(show with them folded but will stand about 3.5 feet tall), and runs off of wood pellets (looks like bunny food), you need 110 power to run it, but it works like an oven, set the digital thermostat and it will maintain it as long as you don't run out of the wood.

While its small, it does a good job

they do have other sizes and as my budget allows Ill most likely get something larger, not sure if ill stay with Traeger or switch brands, but for now having a portable smoker is pretty nice.

here is a pic of 3-2-1 ribs, with memphis dust, and Alton Brown Mac and Cheese in the smoker

Let me know if anyone needs help, or has questions, I use my smoker 3-5 days a week and can share my knowledge!

  4. I just got back from ACE

they had a bunch of stuff on sale

their craftsman tool sets are 1/2 off

I made a small tool kit for my Popup for under $30

    The tool bag was 2.99

5 piece craftsman flat heat screwdriver set 2.99

6 piece craftsman Phillips head screwdriver set was 2.99

    2 piece Stanley plyer/ needle nose 2.99

    25 ft tape measure 2.99

    10 piece 3/8 drive cratfsman 12.99

$28 spent and have new tools with warranty, I thought it was a good deal

  5. Wow that Stout looks good I am coming over (lol...this is NaCole's husband Tom saying this). I see several Fiends on the west coast of FL. I am originally from Port Charlotte. I do appreciate the help with the trucks. What is killing me is the lack of inventory and the fact that I have very little time to just take off and go find one. I like both the Ram and Ford but I think I found an incredible deal on a Ram just waiting for them to get it ready to sell. If not then probably will wind up with a Ford. Just so freaking expensive. This is cutting into our Disney Funds.....sorry hunny.

Its a great beer, expensive but great, check out the notes on it

http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/17981/47022/  you can only buy it from the brewery 1 day a year and the ticket to get in and get 4 bottles will set you back $200, I am sure you could find it it you look hard enough but be expected to pay $100+ for a bottle if you'r not buying it from the Brewery

I understand the frustration with the truck, I am in Cape coral and had to go to Tampa to get my camper as there was nothing local.

Add to that I work every other weekend, and my wife is a baker/ cake decorator who is busy on my off weekends and it makes it tons of fun!

best advice is to be patient, don't want to make a $30K mistake, If there is anything in Lee county you want me to look at let me know.

My dad was an ASE Diesel mechanic/ Fire Apparatus Tech  for 33 years, and has no problem going to look at things and do test drives.

  6. My wife is a baker/decorator what she puts out is some amazing stuff, I am shocked I still am under 230 lbs....

    That looked and sounded good!

Check out her work if at like, maybe she'll do something when we're there for Halloween 2016

  7. so Ill be storing my PUP in the Garage when not in use, question is do those of you with towables use locks of any kind when parked at the Campground? like this

    41EJ-KxUkSL.jpg

Do you use locks when traveling like this? locks the coupler to the ball, and subsequenlty, i would then also get the lock that secures the ball/ hitch to the TV

by no means do i live or plan to camp in a questionable area, but if the opportunity presents itself the right( or wrong) individual will take action.

The Trailer is insured, I have to check if theft is covered, but i assume it is as its financed, but just one of those things....

  8. there was mention of Ecoboost, I wasn't clear that gas is out completely

There are a few "truck only" dealers down in the area, Ft Myers, Arcadia, LaBelle and some just out side of Tampa
Like others have said its a $30,000 decision, so if you have to spend some $$ to fly and drive back that may not be bad option to get what you really want.

and you have options for airports to fly into MCO, TPA, RSW

  9. I considered a BGE but wound up with a Pellet Smoker from Traeger.

I have the Junior Elite, and plan on bringing it when we camp.

the thing i love is that its like an oven, I load the wood, set the temp and let the computer do the rest.

Pizza on the grill, no stone for a more crispy crust

  10. I thought the racetrack was going to be used for some new bus hub or something to do with the buses

I heard/ read its mainly going to be parking, with a turn around for the tram

I don't think this will increase Park Capacity at all, It will offer more parking.  Park capacity was increased already when they finished the New Fantasyland expansion +5,000 guests from what I saw.

With the increase at 5,000 guests, Id expect to see parking for maybe 1,000-1500 cars in that area, maybe even a parking garage.  Whatever they plan on doing they will make more money, $17/ car to park...

  11. my dad is a mechanic, you want 4 new tires.

Reason being is the diameter of the used tires is different from the new one, this can add more stress to the drive line.

I have a 4x4, so every time a tire goes, i get 4 new ones

there is also the saftey involved, 1 or 2 tires with better stopping/ grip vs all 4 have the same stopping/grip

only the best that i can afford to keep my family safe.

Check out tirerack, personally prior to owning a popup/ towing I have been impressed with Toyo Open Country AT 2

    http://toyotires.com/tire/pattern/open-country-at-ii-on-off-road-all-terrain-tires?cat=10

They do make this tire in a P and a LT series

I have not towed yet, but i have a 2007 nissan xterra with a set of P275/75/R16  that have about 10,000 miles on them.

I got them when i lived in New Hampshire, as it snows there and i wanted a good tire for winter/ summer driving.

Now I live in Florida, and the worst weather it sees it rain faill at 2+ inches an hour, never had an issue feeling like i didn't have enough grip in either situation( snow or rain)

That says something, as in Florida when it rains, the streets become slick, very slick as they are made with crushed sea shells, and all the oils come back to the surface and its like driving on black ice.
