  1. Stroller no problem for the boat. I have seen plenty of them this week's from side by sides, to long doubles. Bus will be your only issue. The ride is pleased and very smooth. I wouldn't  venture to MK in your car. Its a bunch of hassle for maybe 1.5 Miles of travel. I'm sorry your going in the August heat. But your still going to love the fort.

  3. Still no issue with road noise. We have sitting and eating outside. My 7 and 4 year old have no problem sleeping in their bunk house.

As for the garden hose, I'd steer away. It only takes 1 dark night, or one friendly hand to have you drinking out of that slow flowing hose. The big Y for dump hose doesnt cost much at all. I now have all the hose I'll ever need I hope. Ended up with a 15' section. but if i cannot get it done with 40' of sewer hose, i need to move the camper.

If your going to get another sewer hose, be sure you get a hose spreader.

I've come up 5 foot short to make my Y. So I'm going to find a short section and move the Y to the dump station. I always buy pretty assembled. Keeps my delicate hands(hahahaha) free of poo.

Thank you for the reminder however. It's nice to know those of us willing to help still exist.

  5. Okay I'm not a muscle head or gym rat. However I am trying to get back into shape(other then round). I have been working out often to build strength while losing weight. Is there any facilities at the fort? Or is there somewhere else we can access? Ill be there in a little over 2 weeks from now. just tying up loose ends now.

I think I'm turning into a walking advertisement for Mac The Fire Guy. His site videos are pretty helpful.

I am also going to be looking at buying a 5-pack of fire extinguishers, 1 of the automatic fire suppression ones for in the basement where my furnace and water heater are, and at least 3 smoke detectors (my bedroom, kids bedroom, basement, and maybe a 4th in the hallway coming up the steps).

I'll also be practicing exiting my bedroom with the emergency exit (which is different than what I showed in the videos AND should be more conducive to feet first exiting). And, the kids are going to learn to open their emergency exit and get out that way.

I know they can be trained/taught to exit via it. But one of my concerns is simply daughter having the strength to open it. The red tab is a pain in the but to pop-up in order to open the window.

ependydad, look up metalcraft fire in Maryland if your going to put a self operating system in with your generator. They are built and designed for high-end road and water vehicles. Worth every penny because of their testing. Also I would recommend buying anything less than a 5lb extinguisher. The smaller ones usually don't have enough emmmph

I have no idea what was going through my head! I think my brain left for the Fort a week ago. We loved 900 due to it's closeness to the pool and the fact that it's a smaller loop. My husband is concerned about being so long now,60 feet, and having room. We check-in Sunday so hopefully we can find something better. Any suggestions?

I'm confused as to why you coach doesn't have a rest room if it is 60 foot long, or even half of that.

  8. This is our first trip to the fort. We will be traveling with one happy mutt. Not sure if its our laid back old dude, or youngest furry critter. I booked a premier site? Well the most expensive one because of size and why not, we will be there 7 nights.

Can anyone point us to a loop we are bike and walking friendly distance doesn't matter. we are there to camp and unwind not have the hustle and bustle of rushing around. Can ya give a family some help?

I like the 800 loop because the sites are bigger and there is a dog walk in the back of the outside sites.  Look at the sites towards the back.  I love site 841 as an example.  Florida does have mosquitoes but Disney sprays when everyone is asleep and they encourage the growth of bats to eat mosquito larvae.  Not that I think bats are such a big improvement.  May should be a good time to come down.  The pool water is still refreshing, not hot, it should not be crazy crowded and if you go to the parks you shouldn't burn in the sun to badly.  I found the walk from the back of the 800 loop to the pool took me 7-10 minutes and did not tire me out.  I did find a thirst for a frozen margarita along the way but I'm not sure if that was because of the walk or the fact that it was 3:00 PM and I always need one at that time. I also found that a thermocell is an excellent investment if you are worried about mosquitoes.  I also recommend bringing a large supply of your own bottled water.  Florida tap water is an acquired taste and buying a case of water at the settlement store will send you into shock no matter what your economic status is.  $17.00 for 24 16 oz bottles.  Still a little chafed over that one.

Do you use a filter on your water intake? I will have bottled water just because you mentioned it, but I am still curious
