  1. Awesome!! Can't wait to see pics. And I know what you mean about camping and large families. It's about the only way we could afford vacationing these days. Imagine the airfare and cost of a family suite or two hotel rooms?? Crazy!

    Congratulations!

ETA: Nevermind about the pics...I saw them in the link on the other thread. Beautiful!!! We also have a Keystone TT and so far we love it.

Am I reading right in your signature that you have 5, all girls? That's wonderful! We had 5 boys and then 1 girl. We aren't finding out what this one is.

Yeah, we would never have considered flying down, it would be crazy expensive. We have been doing 2 rooms at WDW or squeezing into a cabin and it is getting so expensive, especialy since the discounts aren't as good anymore. undecided.gif

Glad to hear your big family loves your TT. ;D

  2. Congratulations! You're going to love it.

Go ahead and ask a million questions, we won't get sick of you. :)

Thanks, I am just beyond myself excited to get it here.

I've already posted 2 questions in the tech area. :))

Ask away. Does it have slides? If it does and you can afford slide awnings by all means get them. When I was washing my roof yesterday I noticed how the roof of the slide has stayed brand new. It was the one thing the salesman told the truth about when he said I wouldn't be sorry for getting.

Thanks for that tip. I'll tell DH your advice. :))

I'm so happy for you. We really need to get the Michigan Fiends together for a mini GG

That would be so much fun! Are there many more of us? I'll be asking about good Michigan campgrounds soon!

I am going to have questions for anyone up this way about getting the TT to WDW. I'll be posting that later in the getting to the fort area.

  3. We did it! Dh talked them down to our price and put the deposit money down on our very first travel trailer! We'll go in later this week or next to sign the rest of the papers and see when we can bring it home.

This is so exciting! We were up forever last night talking about all the fun we'll have with it. The biggest reason we are buying this is WDW and the Fort. It's our happy place, and this makes it so much more affordable for our big family. We plan to take at least two 2 week trips down there each year, if not more. We'll take it on a few other trips as well, but The Fort will be our home away from home. 8)

Now, I will have a million questions for you all. You guys are going to get sick of me!

  4. With all of that said, it isn't that big a deal towing & parking an RV. Yes, you DO need a little practice, but it isn't rocket science ... FWIW, our first trip after getting our 5er was to The Fort!

We'll see. If we get it or another one soon, I'm sure we're going to be really tempted to take it to The Fort. I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch though, trying not to get my hopes up too high. Although I think it's already too late for that. :P :panic:

  5. I've bought 3 new campers in the past 7 years and I have always offered 30% off first but never settled less than 25% off period. Don't cave in. Just tell them ok, we're going to keep looking and leave. They will work with you trust me. The reason I suggested 30% is the dealers in Michigan don't have tons of miles to ship campers from Indiana where most of the manufacturers are. Good luck, hope you get it soon.

I would agree with this plan remember they have they have to sell to stay in buisness you just wait and get the price you want. Check other dealers on the web and see what prices they are asking.

Thanks so much, I will pass your advice along to my husband. We would be so hapy to get that much off!

  6. We went looking today at TT's. Looked at 2 dealerships.

First guy was very knowledgeableand honest about what we can tow with our van and about teh models we looked at.

2nd guy told us we could tow up to 11,000 lbs  . He then proceeded to show us several very nice TT's and competely made up weight and length numbers off the top of his head. We loved a lot of what he showed us, but would never buy from him and after looking them up online when we got home several were over our weight limit.

Anyway, we fell in love with the first one we saw at the first dealership. It's a 2012 Bullet Premier 31BHPR. We got the out the door price, financing, etc. numbers. Now my question is how much do you think we can reasonably talk them down if at all? Is it just like buying a car and they expect you to try to haggle a bit?

Thanks so much for everyones help and advice here so far. We just can't stop talking about it and all the fun we'll have taking it to the Fort!
