  1. I kind of thought so- but I wasn't sure.

I guess I don't have to bother with my experiment now.

Lorna- I wish I had known you needed the box- I brought mine back on Thursday night.

I agree with you- I never look at the stuff in the check in packet- because they never update it anyway. I didn't see my little note until after I had picked up the box. They did a terrible job communicating this to campers, and they shouldn't have done it in the first place. I can still use old analog TV's at home with my cable. And, my old TV's used to work when the first switched over to the new cable this year. The only reason they are doing this is to save themselves some money. But, are we going to get lower rates for sites?

    TCD

Remember that the US is supposed to be 100% digital by 2015 so you'll eventually needs cable box or some sort of converter at home. I know we switched over a year ago in charleston.

  2. Gwen - Enjoyed the ride home update. I know that drive all too well, I actually hate the I-4 part of the trip. I-95 doesn't bother me too much since I take exit 32 in SC, then it's a highway the rest of the way to Charleston. That part is terrible at night,

Lake Norman is phenomenal, I agree. I have friends who live there and was just up visiting them last weekend. It's hard to believe you're so close to Charlotte.

  3. We didn't leave the loop til late (245pm), our neighbors were great and let us move our rubber totes on to there sites grass, so we could take our time and not rush. At 245pm when we were leaving there were many at least 10 sites that had just checked out.

Thanks for the update. I requested 1700, so I'm feeling better about getting one of those sites!

  4. Thanks!!! Oh you missed on your countdown, it says your there already!

I was originally supposed to leave today (Sunday), but life/holidays/finances got in the way. Actually, just my friend Justin's job got in the way. So, to make up for it, we're staying an extra day or so now (we've changed the dates so many times, I can't remember when I was supposed to actually be there). The best part is, we overlap with you, Mo, some friends we met at the Fort earlier this year and a whole pile of other people.

  5. I know for certain they don't use WDW Transport. It's right there on Hotel Plaza, but I'm not sure it uses those DTD area hotel shuttles (which are a pain) or if they have their own from that hotel. Regardless, those are probably the best option, regardless of how much of a pain/slow they are. No free theme park parking or anything, either, staying at the Hotel Plaza resorts.

Also, if the boys walk over to DTD, those busses don't go to the parks - resorts only - and even though it looks close, that walk takes a good while. I made the mistake of doing it once.

  6. This will be my first stay in a full hookup. My fear in the past has been that the sites look narrow, unless you use the unpaved portion of the pad. I hate coquina, so I've been afraid to try.

From what I can tell, 1600 has narrow pads, 1700 has wide pads, but will be pretty well taken up this coming week by the northern pioneers.. so that leaves the 1800 loop. The sites look pretty wide, and are according the the app and videos. Any advice on sites in 1800? I'm looking for good and bad. I like the sites back near the canal, but I'm open to suggestions. I haven't seen much chatter about the loop.

    Thanks!

  7. I don't know if I ever posted it, but when we were at the Fort in June, one of those little terrors chewed through the propane line on the popup while we were at DTD. Luckily, it wasn't at night when we were both sleeping since one of the bunks is right over the tank.

No idea what made them think they needed to do it or what they thought it tasted like, but I assume others have had similar problems.
