Wow. So much more to this story than I knew. This is awesome. Doodle and Mike are especially awesome (already knew that), but glad it's all staying in the Fiend family.

Imagination Pavilion in Epcot?

That's pretty awesome. Looks like I'll miss his show by a week. I wonder if they'll start selling it at Art of Disney all the time?

I agree the 4th is great... just not the best for someone who wants to spend a lot of time in the parks. The July 4th trips are some of the best trips I've ever had... and last year I never went to a park. There was enough to do around the Fort that after 6 days, I wanted to extend. Also, there tend to be a lot of fiends around for the 4th, so there's always a potluck or drinks to be had.

I've been a passholder for quite a while. There used to be decent AP discounts at the Fort, but I haven't seen any at all this calendar year. In fact, the current ones specifically say the Fort is excluded.

I'm in (since you told me I had to be)! Have a great few days with Bob and Kathy.

Great report. My favorite Fort trip ever was a no-park trip. Was great to not be on the go all the time!

Suppose I'll guess Captain EO then.

Welcome!
If you're trying to avoid crowds, stay far away from WDW the week of July 4th. It's fun and there are tons of special things happening, but it's horrible for park touring. I've done it a few times. This year was awful. Just waiting for the parade was a test of patience that week.
I agree that early June always seems less busy, but I also think that about late august. Otherwise, go when is convenient and get to the parks at rope drop. Plan your day by doing the big attractions early and you'll be fine. Don't forget a day, or 3, just to explore and relax at the Fort!

I've seen it a hundred times off I-95. I can't comment on the park, but that exit might make me uncomfortable at night. I can't say for sure, but it doesn't look great as you pass by.

I have AT&T and the LTE service is great at the Fort. The 3G wasn't the best though.

I was in the 200 loop in June. Honestly, you are close and can walk, but you're not THAT close depending on where you are. It was definitely convenient but I wasn't as impressed as I had hoped to be. I think I still prefer 1600 or 1700.

It's pretty slow that time of year, but not completely dead. I prefer to go up there then since I can't handle the summer crowds. Usually ocean blvd is deserted and so are the hotels. I would imagine, though, that some folks will be around that week for the holiday. Either way, if you're used to going in the summer it will be hard to recognize the place.

So I read the review to try and figure out the mystery topping. The person thinks it was butter fingers, now if you were writing a review, wouldn't you take the time to ask?!?!
I'm pretty sure that's what it is. Don't tell anyone, but I actually prefer it over the carrot cake cookie.

It sounded delicious until I saw $29 for a roll. Umm, no thanks to those prices. Wow.
-
Ah! If only I'd read the post.

Don't have one either but have had my eye on that very model. It's a great floor plan.

I'm curious. What were the hours before they extended? I thought I always remembered the meadows being open until 5.

Just for the record about the cable modem for Internet. I got one in July. All they needed was my site number and signature. No deposit and no KTTW. I didn't have charging privileges on it even if they had asked.

I also have had nice experiences at Jiko. The first time I ordered their famous steak with Mac and cheese. It was good, but I think the hype got to me and I was expecting too much. The most recent time I asked the server to choose based on what I like and was blown away. It was pricey, though, so definitely save up.

It's funny to hear Gwen say that. It's one of the few table service restaurants I wouldn't even consider going back to. I actually like, ok love, French food. The heavier the better. Maybe I'm spoiled from our restaurants here, but everything I've eaten there was microwave meal tasting at best. The staff was indifferent and acted like they wouldn't even eat the food. I tried it twice and everytime went to the bakery next door and they had the same options there that they'd heat up for you from the cold case.

I HATE HOA's. I'm dealing with some drama with my current one. I will never, ever buy another place with one. Ever. I had a similar American Flag incident a few Memorial Days ago. I just politely told the jack hole that he was welcome to fine me, but I was sure the local news would love the story. That solved that.
Good luck, Lorna. They can be difficult, but it will work out.

Sorry. I was away. It is Mexico! Where? It's right in the pavilion othe Grand Fiesta Tour.

Since I never post... how about this one:
The Trolls Return to the Fort

Even though I approve of many anti-troll things, I'm in.
As far as the race track... That's the first thing I heard on my first Fort trip. I remember thinking, "that thing is a mile away. No way that's what I can hear." Wrong. It's obnoxious. And loud. So for once, we agree on something. Rant on.
