Our local dealer has many floorplans on their web site so this may help in the search. 6 or 7 different companies.
If something looks interesting call Amy at Mid-West RV 937 236 0200 she will glady answer any questions for you since she sells and ships nationwide. She also camps and will give you very honest answers.

Looks Dan. See you at the FORT.

Now, even though I still have two kids at home, only DH and I go camping. The youngest, 18, wants nothing to do with it. Now, we just have to make room for the grandkids....
We went through that, now 2 of our 3 children have their own campers. The oldest once said, as a teen, "I'll never camp"! Guess who was the first to buy one? :rofl2:

Thanks for all your advice everyone. So, what do you think we should look for in a gross trailer weight? Do you think we can even find anything that will sleep all of us in that weight?
Here's a "HYBRID".JAYCO Hybrid
Sleeps 8-10 but will be a little tight.

If you don't belong to PC here is another source and they usually don't charge tax..
Dave, They are almost in your "backyard" Sevierville, TN

Hey Dave, I've looked at that unit before (actually the 30 amp version). How do you secure it so that it does not "walk away"?
As BRDof3 said they have a hasp that will lock your cord and the surge protector together. Also as he mentioned there are power boxes that have the tab so you can lock the lid closed after you plug in. If I'm in an area where I have concerns I wrap a chain around the power post and the top and bottom of the surge protector and the lock it.

Ok folks, looking for some input.
Finding a few different ones out there - prices from $70 - $300 and not sure what the differences are.
All seem to be from Surge Guard. Recommendations?
Some only watch for a surge others watch for hi/low voltage as well as check polarity before turning on. The 50 amp we bought checks everything for about 2 minutes before it turns on (proper voltage and polarity, open ground or neutral etc). If the voltage drops below 103 or exceeds 130 it turns off. Also look at the joule rating, the higher the better. The hardwired units are a little less expensive but if you buy a new unit then you have to get a new surge protector.
Also I've seen pictures of what happens if there is a lighting strike and I don't want the surge protector inside our coach. Once it is hit it isn't a pretty sight (kind of explodes) that is why we bought the portable.

Thanks! I like that model. So you think our vehicle would be alright towing that?
This is what we were really in love with: http://www.lakeshore-rv.com/cf/shopmast/productdetailp.cfm?productid=2694
Is it too heavy?
As Carol said it depend on how much "other stuff" you put in the van and trailer. The one your looking at is 6470 empty and the Jayco is 5600 and those are usually "dry weights". Does not include propane or any water in the tanks.

We also buy the Trailer Life Directory, but we do it every other year. I think it is a little easier to use and it shows the Good Sam parks if you belong. Woodalls is available online once you register with them.Woodalls

This unit sleeps 10 and has a GVW of 7500 loaded if you add the outside kitchen (you loose one bunk I think) taking the sleeping to 9, so in your case it should work. Suggested retail is around $29,000 with the larger a/c and customer value package, which means you can get it for a lot less.

It's truly a shame when a $350 investment could have prevented it.
I never leave home without it.

We really don't exclude travel on any particular day but we do plan the time we go thru a major city such as Atlanta. We do however usually limit our day to no longer than 350/375 miles a day. Many days are even shorter. One advantage of retirement.

100, 200 and 300 are preferred, they have that designation since they are near the Marina and the Settlement. Location, location, location. The pads are close to the same size as FH (smaller than the premium)
Cherie beat me to it!! :rofl2:

I just plugged in December 7 - December 23, and both partial hook up sites and full hookup sites were available for those dates. Once you book, then call back and cancel the extra days.
Better yet, email [email protected] and she will take care of EVERYTHING including finding discounts and booking your dining!!
Bet you get your ressies if you follow Carol's advice...

same here, only thing missing was the online name:) Oh, question.....who has what seating for dinner?
If I remember correctly we all were moved to "late" 8:30/9:00 or whatever that time is.. Also since this is in the "Public" section I would rather you PM the list you have to everyone instead of post it. JMHO
-
I have a list, but don't want to post names/room numbers unless everyone says ok.
Jen......I thought deck 11??
When I finalized my online check-in it gave me the list of names and rooms that Rhonda linked.
