  1. (This probably needs it's own Category so that people can post questions about specific Campers; or post reviews of campers; or ...)

Mainly, I wanted to know if anyone if anyone had experience with - or comments about - Keystone Campers ... specifically the Outback Loft or the Laredo.  We have a dealer "nearby", and PureTCrazy, our Mom and her son all went 'shopping' and liked those two floor plans.

  2. As always, these are just my opinions and YMMV  ;)

    Magic Kingdom:

    Sit Down -

The Plaza - great for lunch.  We've never been disappointed eating there.  Don't forget to order the Banana Split!!

    62253_115827848474536_100001419647492_120624_2724411_n.jpg

Tony's Town Square -  Go here for an appetizer and dessert.   None of us were very impressed by the entrees.  :P

Liberty Tree Tavern - Dinner was unimpressive ... both food and service.  >:(

Crystal Palace - Service was horrible; the food was adequate; characters seemed 'rushed'; the only good part was getting into the Magic Kingdom an hour early and getting Christmas Photos with no one else around.

    Counter Service -

Aloha Isle - You MUST get a Pineapple Float!  :soapbox: :)

Cosmic Ray's - Always a winner for us.

    Animal Kingdom:

    Sit Down -

Tusker House - A real winner at breakfast.v  Not only is the food good, but ... you can get into the park an hour before it opens, giving you a fast track to Kilamanjaro Safari or Expedition Everest Fast Passes!

Yak & Yeti - we all enjoyed lunch here.  Don't forget to have the Fried Wontons for dessert!  :)

    Counter Service -

Flame Tree Barbeque - enough said!

    Disney Hollywood Studios:

Sit Down is the ONLY meal we would eat here -

Brown Derby - one of the best meals we had during our over the top Deluxe Dining Plan week.  :rofl2:

Sci-Fi - Good food; good atmosphere; quiet; and one of the best servers!  :)

    EPCOT:

    Sit Down -

Biergarten - NOT a pleasant experience!  :argh: The food was NOT the food I remember from my 3 years in Germany!  Add so-so service, and it was a night to forget ...

Chefs de France - Great service; good food (at a reasonable for Disney price if you get the Prix Fixe 3 Course meal for lunch); and desserts to die for!

Le Cellier - The WORST meal - EVER!  I would rather eat Cheese Soup out of a can than the nasty stuff we were served.  Service was some of the worst we've ever had ...

    Rose & Crown - unimpressive :(

    Counter Service -

If you can't find something you like, then you have issues!

Personal Favorites are - Sunshine Seasons and Tangierine Cafe.

    Resort Dining:

    Sit Down -

Animal Kingdom Lodge - Boma!!  Breakfast (get the Frunch!) or Dinner (Zebra Domes!!) - both are fantastic!

Beach Club - Cape May Cafe Clam Bake Dinner had a wide range of choices and the food and service was good.

Caribbean Beach - Old Port Royale (yes this is considered Counter Service, but you sit down - so it's a hybrid) - Breakfast was great, and so was the service.

Contemporary - California Grill vomit.gif.  Worst Server at Disney ... and the food wasn't much better!

Contemporary -  Chef Mickey's.  We didn't eat there, but just the noise level was enough to keep us away!

Grand Floridian - 1900 Park Fare - The dinner buffet was great; good character interaction

Grand Floridian - Victoria and Albert's - Maybe we were expecting too much, but it didn't seem worth it.  Service and Food were outstanding, but it just didn't ...

Old Key West - Olivia's Cafe - Excellent breakfast!

Polynesian - Kona Cafe - Breakfast sucked!  Dinner is one of our favorites!

Wilderness Lodge - Artist Point - Order the Smokey Portobello Soup; order the Cedar Plank Roasted Wild King Salmon; order the desserts.  Those were the only items we really liked here.

Yacht Club - Captain's Grill Breakfast is on our favorites list!

Yacht Club - Yachtsman Steakhouse - YES!!

Counter Service - Most are unimpressive.  The exceptions are ... Pop Century Food Court (surprise, surprise, surprise - just go outside or back to your room to avoid the noise); Mara at Animal Kingdom Lodge; and Roaring Forks at Wilderness Lodge

    Downtown Disney:

    Sit Down -

    Wolfgang Puck Cafe!!

Fulton's Crab House - Good food ... but too much of it!  Service was good, but we had 5 at a 4 top, which made it hard to set everything on the table.  Add in 10 obnoxious drunks at the table next to us (with us in a cubby hole) and it made it the dinner from hell!

Raglan Road - LOUD!  Marginal food - NOT on the list to try again.

    Counter Service -

Earl of Sandwich - Try it, you'll like it.

Wolfgang Puck Express - a No-Brainer!  Get the Butternut Squash Soup and the Rosemary Chicken!  The pizzas are pretty damned good, too.

Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop - swing by and get your free sample!  The sundaes are to die for!

I'm sure there are a few shockers in there *cough* Le Cellier and California Grill *cough*, but those are my honest opinions ...

  3. We're going to be down for the F&W 1/2 Marathon, and I was wondering about decorating.  We'll be at the Cabins - do they decorate too?  What kind of decorating is normally done?

Maybe a dumb question, but what is it and when and where? Ok three questions  :nyd: Thanks!  :wetpants:

Disney has a bunch of Runs at various times during the year.  The biggest if the Marathon Weekend the first weekend of January;  In February, they have the Princess Marathon Weekend; May brings out the Expedition Everest Challenge; September has a Disneyland 1/2 Marathon ... and that brings us to the Wine & Dine 1/2 Marathon.  The Wine & Dine 1/2 Marathon is on Sep 30/Oct 1 this year and opens the Food & Fine Fest.  A 1/2 Marathon is just what it says - 1/2 of a Marathon ... 13.1 Miles.  You run through AK, DHS and finish at EPCOT.

To find out more about Disney Sports, try http://espnwwos.disney.go.com/sports/ - for the F&W 1/2, go to http://espnwwos.disney.go.com/events/rundisney/wine-and-dine-half-marathon/

I'm registered for the ExE Challenge (a 5K/Obstacle Course combo with a scavenger hunt afterwards) and have ressies for a Cabin at the Fort; I have ressies for the Fort for the F&W 1/2 (and will be registering for that one too).

  4. My friend is married to a very picky eater.  When they were in WDW in October, they ate at the Yachtsman Steakhouse.  She said that he really liked it, but it is on the expensive side.

Yes, it's expensive, but it was one of the best meals we've had at Disney!  If you want a special night out for the two of you, this is the place.  OTOH, the California Grill is the place to avoid like the plague!  Worst service; worst food; ... .  The only thing we enjoyed there was watching Holiday Wishes.

  5. I forgot to include the great news we got when we got back home...an AP PIN code!!! I called my brother and we have 3 trips booked to go back!! May for EE challenge/Mother's Day, Sept/Oct for Food and Wine and our first ever Christmas at Disney! We can't wait to spend Christmas at the Fort!

My best friend has already told me that we could use her golf cart anytime we wanted, so it will be as close to perfect as it can get!! She has a TT and I am trying to help her plan a trip down with her family. We have vacationed together in the past and had a blast!

Actually, our next trip to the Fort is in March.  I have us scheduled for 4 days in a 5th Wheel! :D  I'm PureTCrazy's DB, btw.

  6. We actually are talking about the possibility of renting a camper for a short trip in March. My brother was showing my Mama pictures and talking about trying out camping at Fort Wilderness. What did Mama say? "Will the Mousekeepers clean the camper for us too?" Gotta love that spoiled little woman! :rofl2:

Not a possibility - it's a done deal.  Confirmed Reservations at the Fort, and the deposit paid on the 5th Wheel ...

And, YES, she doesn't like the fact there is no Mousekeeping for the Camper  :rofl2:  :rofl2:
