  1. 387 Miles would put you at Fayetteville RV Resort & Cottages  http://fayettevillervresort.com/

I have never stayed there, but from their web site it appears they are over half pull through and they are just off I-95 a little north of Fayetteville, NC.

When we lived in Annapolis, the worst part was getting below Richmond due to DC/Richmond traffic.  It finally got to the point we would get up super early to miss the rush hours and get south early.

Closest site is in 1600 loop is about 300 yards away, 1900 loop is 800 yards. Having a 31/2 year-old in your group I would stay away from the 1900 loop. Most of the sites in that loop have 8 to 20 inch drop offs around the sides and back of the sites that could cause a toddler fall. Sites 1627-1637 are the ones near the comfort station.

well, heck - without the fancy schmacy graphics isn't that wasn't that what I said?

  3. Interesting that a larger tank, will fit the same space....thanks for passing along the info! :)

yea, they make it happen. I researched this also, but found the stock 28 gallon tank works out very well when towing. With the 35 foot trailer I still need to stop regularly and hit the head or stretch my legs. I love my toys, but found I didn't need this one.

Are you a Good Sams member? If so you can sign up,for a Flying J/Pilot RV card. It gives you 6 cents off the cash price at almost all Pilot/Flying J locations, but the biggest benefit is that it starts the pump at the truck islands without going inside and leaving a credit card. The only downside to the card is that it has to be tied to a bank account and paid each month via funds transfer. I just set it up tied to,an old credit union account I had and leave very little money in that account.

  4. The full hook up sites are 1600, 1700, 1800, and 1900 loops.  While all four are accessed through a side road, 1600 & 1700 are the closest to the Meadows.  1600 being the closest as you can cut through the comfort station shared with the 1500 loop, cross the street and and you are at the Meadows.

Depending on where your site is on any given loop the distance form the Meadows follows the loops numerically, 1600 is the closest and 1900 basically the furthest.

  5. Congrats on your purchase!!!

You have now entered the world of the Ford Powerstroke Diesel.

Might I recommend a little wandering around the Ford Powerstroke Diesel Forum http://www.powerstroke.org/forum/ford-powerstroke-scorpion-6-7-2011-forums/

I have been very happy with my 04 Powerstroke Lariat, but I must admit through the years I have spent thousands on the engine.  Now, mine is a 6.0 and I'm hoping Ford/International learned from their mistakes with the 6.0

  6. We had two Fleetwood/Coleman pop ups.We were very happy with both.

Our fist was a 2001 Coleman Santa Fe.   Here it is: http://www.title-3.com/OldCamper.htm

It was nice for the two of us, but could get a little confining.

We then moved up to a Fleetwood Folding Campers Niagara in 2005.  Nice and roomy.  Here it is: http://www.title-3.com/Camper.htm

The Niagara lasted us until December of 13 when we upgraded to a 2014 Coachmen Freedom Express 35' travel trailer.  Huge, lots more room.  But, in some ways much too large for the two of us.  We found it is no longer convenient to go out for a quick weekend camping as this is more suited to RVing than true camping.  So........

Thursday we take delivery of a 2015 Aliner Expedition.  http://www.aliner.com/campers/expedition/

So, in the southeast we purchased the Niagara form Peco Campers just east of Atlanta.  They were a great group of folks to deal with and for the last few years of the Coleman/Fleetwood time they were the nations largest dealer for them.  But, they were a family owned/run business and sold out last year.  So I can't comment on the new owners.

Here in Lexington, SC I just purchased the Aliner at Johns RV.  The also sell other lines and I know they have many Palomino pop ups on the lot.  Talking to my salesman Palomino offered them a deal on a bunch of 2013 and 2014 units Palomino never sold/shipped so if you were interested they would probably go for a good price.  For full disclosure, I know nothing about Palomino pop ups.

  7. We did an Alaska cruise a couple of years ago and met an older gentleman who "lives" on RCCL ships.  For the entire cruise he was wearing RCCL logo clothing and the crew treated him like royalty.  As I understand it he books lower end cabins and when available is automatically upgraded due to his number of sailings. He just seems ot move from ship to ship as they cross in ports.  I'm sure at some point he needs to fly somewhere as a ship can get locked in to an area for a season, like Alaska.

Watching the pricing you can get the lower end cabins for less than $100 a day which is really a deal for housing and food.

If you live within driving distance of a cruise port you can often find great last minute deals.

  8. I have seen some one modify some diamond plate with a hinge and clasp on the underside of a pop up, I think they used an 18-22 tank on wheels, and when its empty and ready for travel to or from the park, they put it in the cradle under the camper. Some of the tanks are 8-10 inches tall, and you have almost that amount of room between the frame and axle on a pop up.

if you dump it before you leave for home, its empty weight is like 25-30 lbs and should have minimal effect on the trailer.

    Ill look for a pic

Fleetwood had this as an option on their pop ups for a while, but it utilized a thin line portable tank.  I think a standard height tank under a standard pop up would probably bottom out and damage the tank.

  9. My very first cruise was back in 1988 aboard what was then the largest cruise ship ever made, which was brand new and state of the art- Royal Caribbean's Sovereign of the Seas.  Our cabin was the size of a walk-in closet.  There was barely enough floor space for two people to stand at the same time.

Funny, we were married on the Sovereign of the Seas.   I never noticed the rooms were small

Too bad RCCL sold her off.....

  10. 6.0 Fords can be good trucks if they are fixed correctly. I have a 06 and had an 05. Both were bulletproofed ahead of problems. I talked to the buyer of the 05 a few months ago, and it is going strong approaching 200k.

If the work was performed correctly I would not hesitate to buy one. With that said those trucks in your links are high priced imo. I paid 16k for my 2006 dually, lariat, cc, 4x4 with 122k on it back in 2010.

I also had a 2003 and 2005 dodge 2500's with the Cummins. I had more problems with them (no engine trouble) than the Fords.

    Agreed!!

My 04 6.0 F-250 has had the following:

    New turbo

    Tuned/upgraded FICM

    8 new style injectors

    EGR delete

    New oil cooler

    Blue spring mod

The original injectors were the weak point and most of the other stuff was done to protect them.

  11. What type of camping unit are you using? Bluewater Key Resort has restrictions prohibiting tents, pop-ups, truck campers and even hybrids, and requires that travel trailers be at least 24' long to camp there.http://www.bluewaterkey.com/

    TCD

i meet the camper rule, but can't find their pet restrictions. Not sure if Niko would be welcome. $155 per night in season is a bit steep. At that price FW is a bargain.
  12. Coming into this late (sitting on beach in Jamaica)......

All factory to dealer deliveries are towed' again except very small trailers where they can save money with multiple on a trailer. They have a small army of contract drivers that tow them.

Get the inclusion of the skylight install warranty in writing form Jayco. Having talked to someone does no good when you have a problem down the road.

  13. Who did you dive with in Cozumel?

Generally friends.  I was a dive instructor for many years in Ft. Lauderdale and the shops I worked with had regular trips there.

We used many of the dive operators - but through the years and brain cells I have lost to bad habits it all just a fog.....
