I grew up in Freetown which is near Fall River no one has ever heard of freetown... My mom's a snow bird now (she has a house in Nakomis Fl) so when she comes home in May I will most definitely be spending some time in the basement sorting through old family photos If I remember correctly its off the beach where there use to be a walking trail... but other then that I can't remember much more then that so a hunting I will go for that treasure map

i also meant to say that its not impossible to tent camp at the fort... i plan on doing it in may im also from mass and grew up on the south shore...

finding this site has made me want to go to my mums and dig out all our old wdw vacation photos as well... i know we have tons from the fort from the late 80s to the early to mid nineties including a treasure map my step dad had made when his kids were little before he and my mom got together some where on fort wilderness is a tin lunch box filled with tons of stuff i think including money and he buried it some where on the fort and created a treasure map for his kids to find but they never did... im sure its long gone by now but its cool to think about specially since he passed away 4 years a

Ok that would make sense since we stopped staying there around 96-97... i have some great memories of the fort as a kid.... i remember the lawnmower tree use to be surrounded by trees and i could never actually find the tree when did they cut it all the way back?

And I'm pretty sure the cabins have been around a lot longer then 97 unless he is specifically talking about the newer ones... We use to stay there when I was a kid in the cabins and the lay out was almost completely different the back half was the same as it is in that photo but the front was flip flopped

I use to watch this all the time... i worked at a video store and during the day we had to play kids movies so it was an ever rotating group of the disney sing alongs the muppet shows

I just booked my trip! And I started to read www trip report and did get to the barrels definitely a much better use of quarters then laundry... I have several tents super lightweight backpacking tents a four person tent which is prob what I'll bring and a giant 10 person tent... I will most likely know bring my bigger air mattress since I booked flights with southwest and have more room to negotiate weight and all and will also bring sheets as well I will check out the bobble bottle next time I'm at target Since this is the first time I'll have camped by myself and at the fort most likely I

I wouldn't have a microwave but I can make it by running water through the coffee maker and then pouring the hot water into the easy Mac covering it and letting it stoop for a few minutes kinda like cup of soup... At least I hope it would work that way I should test it before I leave home..

What's the barrel? Also do I even want to question the green hose? I'm not a giant oatmeal fan..

I'm only going for like 4 days and can re-wear 2 pairs of shorts I've done worse hiking... so im not truely worried about laundry but that'll be good for longer trips... if this goes well I may go longer in sept/oct for a MNSSHP

So I am compiling my list of items that I will need when I go to the fort so far i have... tent air mattress (twin) sleeping bag coffee pot extension cord power strip air pump flashlight or lantern ( i do have a nice flashlight app on my phone plus a head lamp) fan pillow coffee mug water cereal shelf stable milk trash bags toss away bowls and spoons (unless i can snag some from trails end) easy mac chips clothes toiletries shower shoes what else am I missing or could possibly need? I am flying so 50lbs is my limit plus my duffle carry on for over head and my backpack for under the seat...

yeah I was planning on grabbing my things at the airport or at least grabbing the bag that has my gear in it... i kinda figured that they'd help you get back to your site... and I just hope my site will be available when I get there so I can set up since I wasnt planning on hitting a park that day

My problem with the refillable mugs are unless you spend tons of time at the resort it is just not worth the price... For people that spend all their time at the parks they should have the option to fill it there the cost per serving for the soda syrup is pennies on the dollar they are not losing anything on it...

I've got a random question I know some people have flown and tent camped... I plan on doing that hopefully next month my trips keep getting pushed back due to work but this time I actually have my time off request signed and hanging on my wall at work there is no way my director can change her mind... so anyways.... something I never actually thought about was once I got off DME with all my stuff how do I get back to my camp site? Do i have to lug my stuff on the internal shuttle or will they give you a lift? I'm flying southwest so I can have my 2 free bags plus my carry on so I'm looking at

I love that site... ive been visiting it for about a year and a half... I've learned to love couponing and its great that i really only need to go to one site to find deals and things since she links everything off her site and I can print the coupons that I might need just from links from her site instead of searching myself... plus its always great to see other people who get the whole disney thing...
