  1. The 3 Thousand trail parks we stayed at were in need of a lot of repair. (Circle M and Timothy Lake North, both in PA, and Lake and Shore in NJ) You can tell that they may have been a nice place at one time, but we found them to be very run down and in dier need of a face lift and a coat of paint. We used this program ( http://www.readycampgo.com/ ) to check them out, and for the money it was worth checking them out, but I do not think we will stay at them again unless they fix them up. I hope the ones where you live are nicer.
  2. Rt. 95 is about 112 miles thru Ga, I think I would try to make it to the first rest area at the Fla. boarder. They have free orange juice and there usually a 5.0 patrolling it at night.
  3. We have stayed over night at Wal Mart's also and had no problems at all. We even stayed at the one in Jacksonville Fla. 2 years a go and they had signs throwout the parking lot saying no overnight parking, but we just pulled up next to the other campers a long side the Wal Mart store and wasn't bothered at all. You should be fine.
  4. I started a Thread on the other board back in January (Where on Facebook) on where all the cool people went. I got a few PM’s that gave me clues on this site here since the other board was filtering anything that look like directions to here. After finding FortFiends.net, I was getting requests on how to find this place and I was happy to let them know. After getting a warning from the other site in April when I was only responding to the thread on how to find you all here (Reason: Filter Violation), I was basically told to stop leaving bread crumbs to here and soon after I got flushed. I r
  5. Heading to Gettysburg's for Fathers Day weekend. Will be heading to Cape May sometime in August and want to try Lake Kandle too. May try to get to Knoebles. We usually go at lease 4 times a year.
  6. AWESOME pic's! Thanks for sharing them.
  7. We love ours and I love all the mods that everyone has done. Your going to have a blast in yours! Gratz
  8. Ditto on that. When I went with my boys it rained all weekend. It was a mud feast. We left on Saturday night and just threw away our tent. I told the troop that if I can't park it, I'm not going.
  9. WOW! :argh: Those price?s are insane. We thought about going there last year, but to have to pay and extra $30 a night because we are a family of 6 is crazy. (Campsite Rates are based on two adults and two children ages 4 to 18 (non-driving).) It looks like a lot of fun, but one of the reasons we camp is so we spend less on lodging, and more on doing other things.
  10. 1 mile down the road from Knoebels. There is no tent camping here. Nice and green, lots of grass, we will camp here again. This is the nicest camp ground in the area. No need to worry about bringing food. Knoebels is rated #1 for food and it is very affordable. Cheeseburger on a hard roll with lettuce, tomato, and onion, $2.50. Pickles on a stick for a dollar. We LOVE this place. NO, I'm not showing off my balding head or my hitching skills, just some more of the campground between the TV and Trailer. http://www.jdcampground.com/ http://www.knoebels.com/ (Golden Ticket Awards) http://www
  11. Welcome back. I too love seeing my children s reaction as they experience the magic too. :rofl2:
  12. This is our favorite local campground. Very clean and just a peaceful park with good fishing, but watch out for the snapping turtles. I will post more pic's next time we are there.
  13. This place has a HORRIBLE layout. You needed to find your own spot and it was very uneven. Nice indoor water park and lots of activity's. We will not stay here again. We will search for another place in the area, there seems to be a lot of campgrounds in the area.
  14. Sites were sorta tight. Campground is on the top of the mountain,...well,...small mountain. They had a really nice indoor water park with a lazy river. We were there the last weekend the water park was open for the season, that was Columbus Day weekend. We would go back here, the kids loved it.
  15. At what price of gas do you decide on parking the RV or even sell it? I am a family of 6 and camping with our trailer is the only way we can afford to go anywhere. We pack it and go. No need to eat out since we just bring it with us. My wife is a coupon Queen so she knows how to shop for food at a minimum, but with the price of fuel and my Tow vehicle only getting 8 mpg we just don?t know what we are going to do. I was wondering if this was a concern for anyone else, and how bad are fuel prices going to affect the industry?
  16. W00T!!!!!!!!! Welcome. Just follow the bread crumbs, they will get you here. :rofl2: :mort1: :rofl2:
  17. I am not sure if any of the campgrounds in the Wildwood/Cape May area are that good. We did stay at Sea Shell last year but wasn't too impresses. We are going to try this place this year since it's in our home state. http://www.lakekandle.com/ Abagpiper5: Glad to see you found this site. I am the person who sent you the PM on the "other" site today. I saw that you had questioned where the "regulars" had went to. I sent the hello from NJ note with my email address and had hoped that maybe you would drop a line. I figured I would then give you this site's address. Glad to see you found it anyw
  18. We bought our Jayco used from a dealer close to home when the fuel prices were at $4+ a gallon and towards the fall a couple of years ago. When the dealer told use the starting price of the unit we were interested in my wife and my mouth fell. They gave us a price 4k less then they told us 3 month earlier on the same unit. We were even able to get the unit for less than that, and we have only had minor issues that were easily fixed with the help of the camping community forums. We have been very happy with the unit and will buy used again, :wave1: I only wish I could afford to buy new. :rofl2

We are going to try this place this year since it's in our home state. http://www.lakekandle.com/ They mean Wildwood, FL, not NJ, and Lake Kandle is ok, but it is a swim club for the township and gets very busy in the summer. Also isn't near the shore, about 45 minutes to 1 hour drive to certain beaches. I live in NJ as well, but camp out of state. Personally, most of the campgrounds in NJ cater more to the seasonal crowd and turn me off. Haven't be
