  1. I think we used them once before and were very pleased with them. We'll probably give them a call if we don't get any help from the place that did the work on the RV last Friday. Thanks for mentioning them.
  2. The batteries are brand new. They were installed s few months ago (at the same RV repair place). The problem we have is that it appears the transfer switch, and I guess the converter, are all hard wired in, so we can't figure out how to turn it off.
  3. That makes total sense. DH thinks he probably misunderstood about the inverter, converter, etc. He's not very mechanically inclined...which I'm sure you guessed by now. :) I think right now, what concerns us the most is that the batteries were totally charged, but when he flipped the circuit breakers off and on, the batteries were suddenly showing on the control panel like they had been drained. Right now they appear to be charging again. Something is definitely not right!
  4. I am so confused. I think I've decided that we just aren't campers. It's time to sell this thing and be done with it! I've read your responses to DH and he's afraid that if we just run off the batteries they will go dead again, which is part of what got us into all these electrical problems. Or are we totally misunderstanding what all of you are saying? He did flip a bunch of breakers and now the lights on the control panel are showing that the batteries are not fully charged again. I'm starting to suspect that they didn't really fix our problems when it was in the shop yesterday.
  5. The thing that is making the noise says "Power 50 Transfer" and says its a transfer switch. DH says the TV repair people called it an inverter.
  6. The thing that is running is under the bed by the fuse box if that helps.
  7. We are so clueless about this stuff...where would we find the breaker for the converter?
  8. We finally arrived at the Fort today after the RV being in the shop all day yesterday with electrical problems. They ended up replacing the electrical panel and the inverter. And that seemed to fix the majority of our problems. It will still need to go back in the shop when we get back in town to fix an issue related to one of those outlets that you can reset. Here's our problem...they told DH that the inverter needed to run until the batteries were completely charged, and then we could turn it off. So it ran all night (making a loud humming noise that kept me awake all night). DH went to the
  9. Okay. Thanks for your help! I'm so ready to stop for the night. It's been a long day!
  10. So when we get off the exit (going south on 75), do we still turn left or is it on the right?
  11. Thanks for trying to find the info for me, Carol.
  12. I hope you are able to find something. I can't find a thing. The last time we stayed there, we arrived late, but had reservations.
  13. Does anyone know if you can just pull into Eagle's Roost without a reservation and just pay in the morning? We are getting a late start on our trip and have decided that Eagle's Roostt will be a good stopping place, however no one is answering the phone there.
  14. Definitely 50s Prime Time. We love it when we get a server that gets into character. I've never really been a fan of Sci Fi.
  15. I agree that the Timeshare Store is a great company to use. We bought our original points at Hilton Head through Disney, but bought add-ons through the Timeshare Store at Old Key West twice. If I wanted to buy a small points package again, I would still choose OKW. The points are usually lower in cost and the rooms are bigger than any other DVC resort. I love the theming there too.
  16. My guess is that someone was camping alone and had some kind of medical emergency. Family members contacted the Fort when they couldn't reach the person. CMs tried to get in the side windows and when they couldn't, they were forced go break out the back window to get in. Just a guess. A few years ago, we were camping at the Fort and had a pipe burst. We were at DD at the time, but a neighbor saw the water leaking out and heard our dog inside. They were able to get a window open and then tore the screen to get in to make sure the dog was okay. Luckily the dog was fine and some wonderful Fie
  17. Wow! It looks great! I think my grand puppies will love it!
  18. Thanks for all your replies. It sounds like BF will be a great place for her to board the pups. And then they can always come by the Fort and go to the dog park with my furry child!
  19. Have any of you brought your dogs to Disney and had them stay at the kennel? We are going to Disney the first week of October. DH and I are staying at the Fort, but our daughter and her husband are staying at another resort. It looks like their dog sitter might fall through, so they are looking at other options. The dogs have never stayed at a kennel before, so they are a little concerned. If you've taken your dog to Best Friend kennels, what did you think of it?
  20. LOL! That was the exact approach I used with her. I work at a high school and have to deal with parents who are annoyed when I can't give their child the class they want, or make a schedule change just because they don't like the teacher, etc. It's amazing how you can calm them down with the honey approach. I've only had one get really angry that I couldn't calm down. I finally gave up and just let the principal deal with her.
  21. I heard back from Taylor earlier today. We talked for about 20 minutes, and I explained why we were so disappointed with the event and what could be done to make it better. She said that Disney has gotten an unbelievable number of complaints, and they are listening. She offered to give me my money back, and I told her it wasn't necessary, but she insisted. She thanked me for being so nice about it...she said a lot of people haven't been, which I hate for her since it wasn't her fault. I was very impressed with Disney's response to my email.
