  1. Remember don't stress out. Typically I get stressed out with the fact I might be holding people up. I am pretty good at backing in. So what I usually do, especially if you have a premium spot. I back into the spot anyway possible. I get in the spot to clear the road. Once in I leave my wife in the back with a handheld Motorola radio. I tell her to tell me before I hit something. I back as far into the spot as I can. Then I get out and survey the spot. Where the water, electric and sewer is and where I want the camper. I then pull forward aiming towards where I want the camper. As I pass where I want the camper I see if it's level. If not I put two leveling blocks where I want my wheels. Then I pull all the way straight out, I line the camper up where the blocks are and back straight up onto them and stop. This usually is very quick and easy. More than once I have heard how quick and easy it looks from campers around me.

I also keep everything I need to set up the outside in one bin in my pass through. Lights, hoses, hooks, awning tie downs. I always have people ask me how I set up so quick. It's because evening is in the exact place, no more no less. So if there is still stuff in the bin I missed something, if not I'm done. My dad camps with us a lot and even noticed it. So he timed me once to be funny. From the time I backed in it was less than 20 minutes till I was in a chair with a beer. I guess I got quick at it because usually soon as the camper is in the spot my family usually goes off to do something and I want to catch up quick.

Just a few tips that you might be able to use

  2. We were there a month ago. It was a disaster. We were staying off property and used uber to get in. It was a pain getting in, then a pain getting out of there, because there was no good place to get picked up. So after our uber driver couldn't find us we took a cab. The crowd was insane. With all the privacy walls you could barely walk, much less with a kid in a wheelchair.

  3. Another question. How does the boarding work.mwe went to do online check in last week, but it was saying not to show up till after 3. We waited because make a wish had our packet. When we got our packet it told us make a wish reccomendation was to arrive around noon because buses get there at 1230. Our initial plan was to get there as early as possible, it's a two hour drive approximately. I had seen on a famous TCD report that this might be a great idea so we can get to the aqua duck quicker, we are wearing our bathing suits up. Plus we want to have lunch on the boat.

So we decided to not do online check in, we thoug even if it takes a few extra minutes at check in, we will still be 3 hours earlier than what the online check in slot was. I didn't know how strict they were about online check in and the time that comes with it

  4. We are really pumped. They told us he was awarded make a wish in late February early March. However, we were in Baltimore till July, so he couldn't have his wish granted till we returned. So we have been planning, and thinking for months. With all the struggles we were going through the thought of this trip is the only thing that kept our spirits up most days. Now it's two days away and we are in a state of disbelief.

  5. We typically always use the truck pumps. As stated above. I have never had a bad experience either, and usually stroke up friendly conversation with the friendly truckers while fueling. We also use the plan of my wife goes inside to pay and we communicate through text or phone so it speeds up my time. I try to spend as little time at the pump as possible.

We occasionally use the normal pumps, and that is a problem 90% of the time. We have used those in both a tt and a mtorhome. It seems every time someone will pull around to the pump in front of you and block you in, then go inside and get drinks and food. Then another car/or truck will pull up behind you oblivious to how difficult it is to maneuver our vehicles. Then you get blocked in, or block two pumps and anger everyone else, while stressing yourself out. So as long as you use the big boy pumps and are respectful that you are on vacation and they are making a living and need to fill up quickly sometimes. Everything works out great

  6. We did. Luckily Halloween is near. So his Bon voyage party was two nights ago. Mom and myself went and got him a costume as well as ourselves. We can't wait. Our biggest obstacle is packing all this stuff. It's a seven day cruise. So a formal and semi formal night. We have decided to do a formal both nights to get really good pictures, with us being in the hospital so much most of our pictures of the last couple years have been our son in a hospital room or with ivs or other stuff. So we want a great couple of pictures for Christmas, finally a positive Christmas picture. Then it's Halloween so there's the pirate party and a Halloween party. So that's two costumes. My wife and myself have decided to embrace this as much as possible . We do not think he will like the kids camp. He has been moved around so much the last year from Florida to Massachusetts to Florida to Maryland and now back to Florida. He has been having some really emotional times about always meeting new friends, and hen leaving them. So we are going to be his best friends and act like kids again with him, but we honestly hope he does join kids club.

So we have two formal outfits per person, two costumes per person then outfits for everyday and every dinner. Seems like a lot of clothes and shoes.

  7. My sons initial wish was to have the Walt Disney suite, but that was not an option. He loved the fact it had a refrigerator with unlimited Mickey bars, so he will love that he can get them for free.

About the movies. Do they have the channel with all he old Disney cartoons. That was my sons favorite part of the fort was watching and waiting for steamboat willie. He already asked if they had that on the cruise. He will also need to give his back and legs a rest and has to sit in braces for an hour every day, so that is a good thing.

He already went and picked out a pirate costume for the pirate party. We were going to let him do the pirate make up garb at the place on the ship, but there last appointment is 1245 everyday. We thought it would be horrible to have him miss a day of pool and evening for the make up. His main goal is to ride the aqua duck as much as his body can take.

Thanks for he tips on the starboard side viewing. I was wondering where the best place to see it was.

As for the wand. It appears I will be pointing it at the konch cooler.

Thanks everyone for the cheers. This kid has earned it after spending most of the last year and a half in hospitals

  8. Ok. As many have followed and given advice on our sons medical journey up and down the eastern seaboard he finally has some good coming his way. He was awarded make a wish. His make a wish was a Disney cruise to Saint Thomas. We have tried a few times to take a Disney cruise with him, but couldn't due to how he was feeling. So now we are going. Tonight we had his Make a wish Bon voyage party and we leave Saturday morning. We are going to be on the Disney fantasy and it is the Halloween cruise. Any tips on what to do or what to see. We did a Disney cruise before he born over 11 years ago. I think it was 2003, with our daughter. It seems a lot has changed now. He is so pumped and we are too. Also has anyone ever done a make a wish cruise with Disney. They gave us a make a wish granting stick and told us to have him point with it and make wishes. We don't know what that means.

  9. We went there a couple times, actually bought at shirt from there. That's a big house. Do you guys have any access to the clock tower or is that all separate. I found the shower truck interesting. Lol.

We will definitely be back up early January probably be there for New Years. I will let you know when it gets closer

For those of you that have been follow Along here are two stories done about our son. If you click on the picture in both articles it is actually the video of the news cast. For some reason a lot of people have thought it was only an article. He has been broadcast over 26 times in different cities and national news like newsie. He was actually science dailys medical discovery of the week a couple weeks ago. Thank you all for giving advice and following along. We still have a long road and a lifetime of treating his conditions, but we are definitely on the right path.

  11. We were able to return home to Florida till December. Hopefully he stays pretty good until then. Good news. He was granted make a wish and he wished for the Walt sweet on a cruise to at Thomas. They couldn't grant the Walt suite, which we totally understand, but we are going in the fantasy at the end of September. Our next Disney trip planned is the fort for Halloween. Halloween can't come soon enough. We might do an overnight trip to night of joy also, but who knows. We need our Disney fix. Thank you to everyone for the advice
