Your wife's first ever Dole Whip? Well now that she has had one, she needs to try one with rum in it. You should send her to WWW (otherwise known as Wild Womenz Weekend ) so she can do that.

For us the orange dole whip was a must do.  Not so crazy about the pineapple either and miss the orange dreadfully.

They don't have a no bag by-pass line there?  That stinks.

Also, they need to figure out a way for monorail riders going to EPCOT to bypass security since they've already been checked at the TTC or hotel and are inside the security bubble.

It didn't seem so.  We had to wait in line with everyone else this summer.

  3. We have done both online check-in and have checked in with our site not yet ready.  In both instances, we did not receive a text when our site was ready.  The first time we waited until after check in time to check back with the front desk only to learn that the site had been ready for hours.  Now we don't count on the text - just call periodically.  With online check-in at the resort hotels, I have received a text when my room was ready both times we used it.

    Amen to that.

And if they're going to use crushed coquina for the tent pads, it needs to be periodically refreshed, so it's not a completely hard, packed down surface.  There are many sites that have exposed tree roots in the tent pads because the coquina has eroded.  Tent campers shouldn't have to set up their tents on tree roots.

They did actually replace the boards around sites and refresh the coquina in some of the 2000 loop while we were there this summer.

so proud of my nephew, sgt trenton richards.  He and about 2000 Oklahoma guardsman are down on Texas helping with hurricane relief.  They are in Sinton Texas just outside of Corpus Christi.  He made the evening news.  He sent us the raw footage and I posted it on my Facebook page.  Actually I shared his mom's post as I don't know how to post videos on any social media

More evidence of the honorable service given by the Guard that is often overlooked.

We made it through safely, Lost at least one barn, last oak tree in yard, it withstood Donna in 1960 and was a big tree. Some water intrusion damage, a few shingles of roof, but we are all well and safe,  have a generator going so have power and water. Wind was over 100 mph about midnight last night. Haven't been out to check grove, but know I lost most of my crop and probably some trees. Need to do a lot of clean up now.

Glad to know you are safe, but sorry that your crop was damaged.

Quick update, some wind, not bad, raining off and on. Storm is still well south of us. Tornado warning for north of Fort Meade, I live just south of Fort Meade, call Fort Meade home town.  No damage, we are prepared and just waiting. Tom

Thanks for posting.  Praying that you and your family stay safe....

After some official NCAA visits, Gabe signed a Letter of Intent this weekend.  He and his parents are much happier than I am with his choice.  Until his letter is filed with the NCAA and all his recruiting coaches have been notified, I'm sworn to secrecy.  But I can tell you that it's a small Division 1 Christian university (4,500 students) that's close enough to me and David that we can make day trips to see afternoon games.  Full ride with an extra food allowance and hefty stipend.  A sweet deal, and the university seems thrilled to have him aboard.

    Congratulations!

  9. I still love to read, but life frequently gets in the way.  My family thinks putting reading on my vacation "must do" list is insane, but for me it is perfect for a quiet day on the campsite. I read a lot of historical fiction as a child, but have strayed away from it as an adult, but I am putting these on book list.  The non-fiction book is going on the list too - I find the that time period fascinating.  Thanks for the recommendations.

  10. We watched a shuttle launch from the pool at the Contemporary many years ago.  It was more exciting than I would have expected.  We also watched a rocket launch from the rooftop garage of a Cocoa Beach hotel.  That was fantastic!  My DS and DH were fortunate to see one of the last Shuttles launch at the Space Center - my son still talks about it.

I guess I pretty much just labeled us as space geeks.

    Thanks for the link!!
