Why put up nice themed fences around a construction site, when they didn't even bother theming the fences around all of the previously wide open playgrounds.
They just threw up industrial inner city black chain link around the playgrounds, because parents are too busy on their phones to keep track of their kids wandering off.
At least they could've used split rail, picket fencing or even brown chain link.
Obviously the powers to be could care less about the dirty, sleazy campers.
Strip the place of it's charm and unique theming, pave over everything to look like a mall parking lot, and they'll still come with wads of $$$ in their hands, all because its Disney.
Hmm...I did not see the fences around the playgrounds yet. Makes me want to buy rolls of paper, let kids in the campground create "artwork" and then cover the fences. I would have to stop myself from adding, "Please pardon our mess while we think we are improving your guest experience." though.

How very sad that they can't even be bothered to give the Fort some respect and at least put up decent looking fences. Our plan for this summer was no parks - just a nice relaxing stay in the campground. It would be the first time for us, but now I am worried that we will have to find places to go to avoid sitting peacefully in a full blown construction site.

Y’all missed out on the beauty of having a stroller.
DD was 2 1/2 years old on her first trip. And we loved having a stroller. It held her snacks, drinks, extra clothes. She took her afternoon nap in it.
The stroller allowed us to enjoy the park for longer each day. There’s no way a 2 1/2 year old could walk around all day nor my back could have handled carrying her for extended periods of time.
Sometimes I wish we still had the stroller. I’m tired of lugging around a back pack all day. 😂
I think we are just a different type of "vacationeer." When the kids were young, we simply enjoyed following them around and seeing what they would choose to do. Some days we would be in the park a couple of hours before we rode an attraction. When they got tired, we headed back to our resort for rest and pool time returning to the park later in the day refreshed. It is also why we never really needed to carry too much extra stuff. That's just how it worked best for us - in many ways it still does.

I must be a horrible Mommy since my oldest son never did Disney in a stroller. He has been walking the parks since his first trip at 4 years of age.

Our brick was my wedding gift to my husband. Not sure if a "replacement" brick carries the same sentiment....

You can still get the orange but it’s not creamy like dole whip.
Unfortunately, I am not fond of that....

I still miss the orange....

Been ready since December 26th!

Wish it was us!!! Have a wonderful holiday.

That sounds like a really fun experience.

Not a fan of cotton candy either. Why ruin good ice cream and it surely can't help candy corn ice cream...

As a household of musicians and dancers, we are fans of Illuminations because the display precisely coordinates with the soundtrack. It is not a fireworks show, but choreographed theatre. Hopefully, they will not replace it with something as lackluster as the Wishes replacement. Now, that is a fireworks show with music and the music has no soul - other than the instrumental sections, it is like listening to pop radio. It will be highly disappointing if they go for technology over art, instead of art using technology.

Hmm... well you could technically write off your travel costs as a business expense so, might actually be a great way to subsidize some traveling! 🙂
At the Fort??
Sadly, yes. We saw the ranger stop by to check on the him a few times. Don't know if they ever spoke with the owners.

I wish the folks staying across from us this summer had thought of this. They left their poor pup tethered outside of their tent all day. Fortunately, they thought to leave water and found a shady spot, but I still felt sorry for the cute little guy.

Thats when the reload the Pixie Dust, so they have to take it down for a few moments....
Ahh...I wish they would have just sprinkled my camper.

We had problems with the wireless connections dropping out in the middle of the night, but for the most part found the service ok.

That does not look appealing to me....

This sucks. AP is among my favorite. We had our honeymoon dinner there. Oh well, California Grill is still there.
We had our honeymoon dinner there, too....

The saddest part of this to me isn't losing Artist Point, it's how this is going to impact Territory Lounge.
Had not even considered that. Territory Lounge is always a stop on our "adult" night because it is quiet with good service.

We love behind the seeds, too. Three hours would be great.

At one point they had a breakfast with Pocohantas. I find it hard to believe that they would do something to this at one of their critically acclaimed restaurants. Would be like changing the California Grill to a character buffet....

Looks fun! Sorry we missed it.

The boys are of the opinion that they should be running trams to the bus stops since they are further away than the parking lots. The extreme distance added to our general disappointment in the bus transportation this summer.

That’s awesome! Did y’all dive with him? Were you able to get pix from the outside? It’s just going to be the three of us so I’m not sure how we wil get pictures of us. I might have to call an old cranky ex-bus driver and see if he will be around to take some pix. Lol.
I’m sure I will enjoy it as much as she will. I too am (was) an instructor. My first student was my DW. I quickly learned that you should never teach your loved ones to scuba. Lol. I think DD was about 8 the first time she got to breath off of my regulator in our swimming pool. She also did a resort course in Cozumel before so the class was more of a formality then anything. But she did say she learned a lot and she really enjoyed the experience.
We did dive with him - it was my first dive too. Since we were in the tank, we don't have pictures. We did buy the video and it was really worth it. When I look at it now, he seems so small. Hope you will report on your experience.
Heading south.
