I totally agree with this and don't understand how it hasn't hurt their recruiting.
One more to hop in Saban's Wahh-mbulance:

It should be noted that the player received a release to go to Michigan last night. Make yourself look like a jerk and then give the release anyway? That's bad PR. No one on his staff told him this was dumb? At least he did the right thing by the kid in the end. Doubtful Nicky would have done the same.

Thanks Nacole and Gwen!
They are a lot of fun to watch.
-
Congrats to Gabe!
Thanks for asking Gwen.
DS just won a tournament this weekend. He is hitting close to .600 and is one of the top two pitchers, averaging a little over 2 strikeouts per inning and an ERA under 2.
DD is playing a year up with first graders in an indoor soccer league. Her team has won 9-0, 9-0, and 7-0 and she has 14 goals.
She has also played 3 scrimmages with the U8 girls travel team (2nd and 3rd graders).
They won 3-1 (she had a goal and set up another goal with a great pass)
They won the second game 1-0 and she scored the only goal.
They won the third game 1-0 and she did not score but played very well.

That is literally the best idea ever

Though we live in GA now, when we visited Niagara Falls we were living in Detroit so we went through Canada and only saw that side. Everyone I have talked to about it says that the Canadian side of the falls is prettier anyway. Are you planning to RV up and back or hotel? Praying for health and safety for your gang!
My mom is from Dearborn so I also have only gone to Niagra Falls by traveling through Canada after visiting my grandmother and other relatives. Oh and I agree the Canadian side is much prettier.
Passports or other special travel cards are now needed to cross the border. DL and birth certificates don't work anymore.
And I do agree the Canadian side is much prettier, that is where we camp when we go as well.
Canuck side is much nicer. Not even close.

Took her to D.C. A few years ago. We had a great time.
Henry ford museum...not sure if she would enjoy it as much as DS(26), and I would.
Yes, but if you went to the Hank Ford, you could see me. Sweetener!

Excellent TR so far Marty!
That is a great DD you have there! Treating to a WDW trip! Holy Moly

Shaka Smart would have been good. He just left VCU for Texas though
Steve wojciechowski from Marquette......longtime player and assistant under Coach K at Duke

A double shift of guard duty. Hangin' with the Goof.
That's how I roll.
-
It seems like things are not going well for your son. That's an awful lot of girls for a young man to have to tolerate.
I hope your daughter didn't get them all going with "the song."
TCD
B got to hang with the girls' dad a bit. That was good enough for him
-
Thanks for ruining my evening, Aaron.
I would not be happy about this either Dave. Losing him SMB for all Gata fans.
-
Aaron, your kids are on a roll!
They are working hard and doing well right now. Thanks Dave!
-
Dem Gatas don't take no jive.
They no longer take Billy Donovan on road trips either.
He is the new Oklahoma City Thunder head coach.
-
DD had a scrimmage with the U8 girls tonight. Her team won 1-0 and she scored the lone goal.
-
Nice TR!
Thanks for sharing

I am going to burn through some of the remaining pics now......that was a great lead-in; wasn't it?

Now we head to the batting cage area:

I still have a huge collection of Garbage Pail Kids. I wonder if they're worth anything.
Did you have Leaky Lindsay or Adam Bomb?
You should check. They may be worth something. Heck, I just saw a news story about some beanie baby fetching thousands. Garbage Pail Kids are antiques compared to beanie babies.
Am I the only one who has now mapped out where the Louisville Slugger Museum is and tried to think when I could possibly get there?
If you are ever in the area, you should definitely go. You could do a little road trip and hit the museum, Dollywood, Nashville, etc.
So, last night, I'm watching the Rays/Red Sox game, and during a commercial, I do some channel surfing. For some reason, we get a network called Flix.
Guess what movie was playing last night?
Elizabethtown.
It was more than half over before I found it, and I had to flip back and forth to the ball game so I could watch the Rays beat those sorry Red Sox in a dramatic fashion in the 9th inning, but I got to see the funeral, and the road trip, and the end. It was a good movie. I'll have to try to find it when they play it again so I can see the beginning.
TCD
You should watch it if you get the chance. I never would have thought I would like it, but I did.

Our friends loved the show...this being their first ever trip to WDW.
Next DW and I took our kids and their youngest to the front while the rest of their family used their 7DMT FP+.
Chilling with a little green fairy next.
We will pick things up there next time. Hopefully we won't have almost a week before the next update.
Peace be with you

Let's get going again. We are still with our friends from Michigan, left Tom Sawyer's Island and watched DD perform some Saturday Night Fever moves.
Now we are on a mission to Tomorrowland:
Everybody jumbled up and rode with other people for Dumbo and Barnstormer:
Time to meet Daisy:
And Mrs. Mouse:
Next up the other girls wanted to visit with Belle:
Check out these next couple pics.....see anything wrong?
The CM kept stalling with some Disney Trivia while messing with the control box. I could tell he was very embarrassed. I felt bad for him. After fooling with things and several false starts we got a move on:
And guess who was picked to be a guard? Again.
DD scored the Mrs. Potts part:
Our friends DD scored this part:
She earned it. She was loud! What an adorable beast!
Inside the library:
Guarded the place like a champ. Again.
It has become a joke now. After about (guessing) 8-9 trips to see Belle. I have only been overlooked for the role of guard once. Weird.
The Beast:
When it came time for the beast's roar, our little lady, waited about 5 seconds and then said, "Rarr," in the teensiest little voice you could imagine. It was quite a change from the wardrobe room. Everyone got a chuckle out of it.
DD pouring the tea:
Nearing the end:

Mickey definitely needs his musket back. Imagine how cool it would be if the old entrance sign returned. Where do you think that sign is? In the back of the settlement wagon maybe?
Very cute pictures... looks like you all had some beautiful weather :) Plus some major pixie dust with the rides...score!!
it rained very little our entire trip. It could have been a tiny bit warmer so they could have went swimming more, but it was much better than the weather in Michigan so no complaints!
I can't imagine how you felt waiting for them to find your stuff. If it were my camera, I would have had a leaky head.
It was a rough few minutes of anxiety.
Wow! Rider switch for kids who are scared. Never would have thought of that! We used to use it all the time when dd was too little, but now she's just too chicken and we didnt think to rider switch. Ill march her up to the gate all day long and coaster shame her if it gets me free rides.
Although now we have an actual baby, so I guess we will just use him instead
We have used rider switch for this reason on our last couple trips.
Rider Switch is a confusing thing. I thought it was limited to guests who had a child who doesn't meet the height requirements, but Disney's own site says it applies in any case where a child doesn't want to ride:
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest-services/rider-switch/
The thing is that I have heard CM's say the opposite to guests trying to get a rider switch pass.
And to add to the confusion, the Disney site doesn't list the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train as being eligible for Rider Switch:
What Aaron describes (waiting and then the other parent immediately re-boarding) sounds like what is described on the website, but the actual practice I've seen is the issuance of a paper Rider Switch pass which is good for up to three guests, and doesn't expire until the end of the calendar month it is issued. Those things are traded in the CM black market, and are quite valuable- especially the Mine Train ones.
TCD
Your posting of the actual rules will become much more important later in this TR. I will say every ride is different. The only place we received ride swap tickets is BTMRR. We didn't do ride swap on Space though because DW didn't want to ride it.
Our experience was with the paper pass we didn't get to immediately board like what Aaron described.
Actually the only place we were able to use the rider swap pass was on Mine Train and there we had FPs so it didn't even matter. Space Mountain had a huge FP+ line then broke down, so neither of us got to ride. Soarin had a huge FP+ line so after CP rode we left.
Thanks a lot MDE.
WBI
The paper pass we used at BTMRR later in the trip, got us back into the FP queue, so we did wait in a short line again.

Thanks Yvonne. He's been in a small slump and working hard to correct things, so it was a big night for him!

DS hit home run last night and struck out 5 in 2 innings during a 9-1 win.
