  1. I have a f350 and will be buying ramps, it just my first time traveling with the cart in the bed.  The truck is ridiculously tall and was hoping for a slope to help my nervousness of loading and unloading.   It is just a regular cart with no lifts.    I need to get ramps.   Any recommendations.  The golf cart guy I bought from said the black ramps at tractor supply do a good job.    I know some have put a wench on the truck or the golf cart to pull it up.   not sure yet but I better get on it.

I haven't been on here in a long time, but found this thread and caught up in a hour or so. It's good to see many of the "old timers" still around, even if only posting here.   We spent December and into January at the Fort for 15-16 years with APs.  Then we went one year on a 10 day pass, and skipped the next year (to Dollywood).  This year was the first year we have  spent at home for Christmas in all that time.  A couple of Spring Breaks at Dollywood and a lot of the MH sitting in the driveway.  We hope to return to the Fort this winter, but it won't be the same.  Most of you don't know we suddenly lost our dear Kimberly in January a few weeks after she turned 21.  This has hit us hard, but we're trying to cope and keep Shawnee and Blake busy.  I finally packed the Christmas lights away that we had had in our front yard for Christmas.... we made the yard as gaudy as our Fort sites used to be.  We're going to Pigeon Forge for a week in July if I get the fridge fixed.  It goes in for a diagnosis Friday.  It's always something when we try to keep the MH available on a shoestring.

so very sorry for your loss.

  3. I saw this one on facebook last night and borrowed it.   It shows the loops and how close this is going to be.   The right side has the loops if you look close.   This is going to be really close.  I think you can see a boat dock on the upper left.

Would it be safe to say the increase in rv sales of types also increases demand for rv sites?  How could they go wrong with more sites. How many repeat cabin stays are there compared to rvers?

That is a good question.  We love Disney.  We are Cabin Dwellers..  We do not camp...but love the Fort and will not stay anywhere else.  That being said.  Because of the cost of the room charge we can only afford a trip every 20-24 months or so.   Basically we come every 2 years for a week and spend well.   If it(the room charge( was cheaper we would come more often and spend our $ on Disney food.drinks and stuff.  So it is beach one year, Disney one year.    I think Cabin dwellers do not return as often as true campers due to the 300-400 a night cost.  (we normally come during the month of December).

January can be great however, in the past, it has been a popular time for large tour groups and cheer competitons.  If you work around that then it should be good.  I took my kids out of school years ago and January was near deserted...oh how times change!

That is sort of our problem.  We use to go the first full week in December, but someone told.  Lol now we are trying for a quieter time.    Will have to check on those cheerleaders.  Ran into those one trip and wow, they cheered everywhere.  In line, on the ride, before eating.   I didn't mind but hubs got annoyed.
