I vote for Sunday also, I am planning on baking a large ham or maybe 2 smaller ones. That way we can have sandwiches the next day and ham for breakfast.

We need to get a menu started for the potluck dinner for Saturday evening. I am planning on making Italian sweet sausage. Whoever wants to chime in with additions for the menu feel free to do so.

Just pack the camper and go, when you come across something you think you would like to see, stop. Then repeat as much as you like. Go up the east coast and take in the sights.

This is gonna be one hell of a GG. We need to plan something special. Any ideas??

So far I have counted 13 families who will be at the Fort for the 4th of July. Bob and I are looking forward to getting together with old FrIENDS and meeting some new FrIENDS. I just want to know why the heck is it taking so long for July to get here.

Funny Momoffive and MomofsixinSC both with ties to Allentown Pa. Maybe of we can get a GG at Knoebels (J&D campground) you both could make it. Have either of you been to Knoebels?

I was born in Shamokin Pa, still have family there. Hubby and I both grew up in Hopewell Twp. Hubby is from Pennington and I was from Titusville, both just a hop, skip and jump from where Washington crossed the Delaware.

Can I ask where in Pa and NJ do you have family? Hubs and I are grew up in NJ and I was born in Pa.Now we live in North Carolina right off 52. If you pick up 52 South off of 77 up at the VA/NC line. 52 into 85 into Charlotte. Just on the other side of Charlotte we pick up 26 then I95 South. As long as you're not during rush hour Charlotte has never given us trouble.
Oh we pick I81 any day over I95 to head home to family in PA and NJ. Make that trip 3-6 times a year. I do take I95 North when I am by myself with the kids a lot and I would much rather be on 81.

1956 that is when the king of my castle was born.

I am so ready for a Fort trip, but it will have to wait until July 4th. Thats ok because this trip our youngest granddaughter will be joining us for her first visit to WDW. She just turned 2 and LOVES Mickey Mouse. I can't wait to see her face when she sees Mickey in person for the first time. Here she is.

If anyone is camping at J&D this year, look across the creek that runs past the campground. If you see a single campground on the other side of the creek, my cousins rent the space from the farmer who owns the property. We camped at that spot back in the mid 60's. I was born in Shamokin, Pa and still have alot of family members still there. Would love a GG at J&D and Knoebels, It's a great family amusement park with wonderful food and great prices.

We stayed in the 600 loop over the 4th of July 2010, but we were in 635 I think. Lots of trees and the way the loop road runs it was very easy to get into. This was a very shaded spot and had lots of room.I camped at Fort Wilderness this past summer and stayed in the 700 loop. I have a 40 ft 5th wheel and had a hard time getting into my site. I had to ask the people in the campsite accross from me to move there car so I could swing into my site. Fortunately they were there and not in the park. Are there certain loops that are more big rig friendly then others? I think part of the problem was that my site was in a turn which made it more difficult to get in. I noticed the 600 loop had easy sites to get in but were not tree covered. My next trip is during the summer again so i would like shade.

yes their homemade potato salad is really good, their cole slaw (sweet) is good also.Where is the best place to pick up prepared salads (potato, macaroni, etc)? Does the Publix have a decent selection that tastes sort of home made? Not like the stuff out of the carton.
-
We used to pack the camper with all the food we would need for out stay at the Fort. Bob says he doesn't like to haul all that weight, so now we just pack enough food to get us to the Fort, then go shopping at Publix and get the rest.

That sure looks like one of the Bee Gees to me.

I like a filet, done med, with crumbled blue cheese. Baked potato butter & sour cream or loaded.

how about a kitchen sink at Beaches & Cream

UUUUmmmm Bob, where are the kids....they are not in the back seat. Did they get out of the truck when you got fuel? Did you not make sure they got back in the truck before you left the pumps??? OMG

I take ground round, then dice onions into little pieces, add some bread crumbs, generous portion of Montreal steak seasoning. mix well and form patties. Bob doesn't like things grilled on the grill so I have to fry them. While they are cooking I pour over a little A1 steak sauce. I prefer either provolone cheese or american, tomatoes and raw onion and mayo. Or some blue cheese chunks...or fried onions with a litt A1 sauce.

Bob...well somebody has to drive the truck.

Bob made a list on the computer then prints it up when we need it. He checks everything off as it is placed in his staging area, then crosses it off as it goes out the door into the camper. He is anal, he has to be to make up for me being Adult ADD. He keeps me grounded, thank God,

I like Italian Hot Dogs, they are grilled with green peppers and fried potatoes with mustard on a hard roll. Probably can only find them in NJ

May and June are the worst months for yellow flies. I was bitten June of 2008 on my foot and my foot swelled so bad it hurt to walk. Then May/June of 2009 was really bad for yellow flies. I was bitten so bad, they became infected I felt so sick and ran a fever. I went to the urgent care clinic and they gave me a shot of Rosephin (sp). I will NOT go to the Fort in May or June ever again.

We like the new area of the 600 loop during the fall and winter months. We are close to the meadows so Bob can fish off the dock. During the summer months we prefer the opposite end of the 600 loop where there are lots of shade trees. The 700 loop would be our second choice. We have stayed in the 1200 loop also and found the sites to be quite large.
