  1. I have skype, just kinda getting into it. I have the premium with group video so I can have multiple people skyping with me. I was thinking of doing this at the Fort showing whoever the nighttime water light parade or such. Does anyone know how many you can group skype with at once? Is this a possibility to give Fiends the Fort fix via the internet? Maybe even the GG's for those of us who will miss the July 4th GG. Is this feasible? I know as long as one of them has group, all in your groups can see it. Just thinking....
  2. I saw some on ebay, I seriously want some sooooooo bad! LTD has those purple flamingos that are really goofy looking and solar powered body for $13.95. I'll have 2 of those and 2 regular purple flamingos out along with the sign in June. Should be easy to spot me...lol
  3. Well they ain't gettin' my purple flamingos, they're solar powered...lol
  4. I was in too much shock to notice the type. It was the top of 3 on the sign. Ususally gas??
  5. No, they didn't say where, just "this Orlando gas station is at $5.69" and they showed the signage with it on it.
  6. They just had a news show and they showed an Orlando gas station with prices that included $5.69 a gallon??? Please tell me it ain't so!?
  7. I have to stop finding stuff to take to the fort. I am driving down with 3 of us and 2 weeks of stuff in a Chevy Cavalier....
  8. I just ordered 2 of them. In purple of course. http://www.ltdcommodities.com/Garden/Outdoor%2BDecor/Solar-Garden-Crazy-Birds/prod210013.jmp?navAction=jump&fm=search
  9. Oh I forgot. One of the best things you can do with a pop up is put the solar blankets on the bunk ends. It made a HUGE difference. I know some people have used a heavier thing like that but a solar blanket is MUCH cheaper and works well. I put my hand on the bunk end roof and where the solar blanket was it was cool to the touch and where I didn't cover the inch or so it was HOT.
  10. I've had a pop up with a stand-alone and it cooled it Okay. It got it down to about 78 in June in Florida, cooler at night. It was warmer behind it, as the exhaust vent duct was very hot and radiated heat before it went outside. We had a 97 Viking with a roof air and it chilled us, even in June. IMHO I would go with the roof air, especially if it already has the roof ready to go for installation.
  11. We have had pop ups and trailers, up to 31 feet. I do like the size of the 5r's but I find you're still driving a vehicle, truck or whatever. So stops become a major factor. It is really nice to not have to stop for potty breaks for everyone and it's even nicer when all I have to do is ask " Honey, would you make me a sandwich and bring me a cold drink?" and it's all there. It's also much easier to separate kids getting on each others' nerves and mine too. It can be entertaining too. My daughter was sleeping on the bed in back and I took a train crossing a little faster than I should ha
  12. They always say...when you're gently caressing someone, you should smile.
  13. We have gone to the Fort in previous years the 2nd week of June and hadn't run into them. Last June we weren't there though at that time. I am hoping they won't be what everyone has been saying about them the first 2 weeks of June. That's awful close to Memorial day..
  14. DW and I were discussing ways to save money when we retire to the motorhome. We currently have direct TV, but nowadays the web has all stations with their shows on them for free, so why buy satellite? We would just raise the antenna for local stuff and use the web for everything else. We can get unlimited web on a broadband for about $45 a month. Does this make sense to anyone? Or is anyone currently doing it?
  15. A lucky day for us at the Fort. A Gator in the wild. Well in the pond between the 600 loop and the pool area. Took several pics of this guy. He ate well. They fed him a ton of marshmallows trying to get him to come closer. He was too smart for them.... :rofl2:
  16. We tried to book in June 11 months out. They did have premium available but not the preferred we wanted. As it gets closer chances drop. All you can do is try.
  17. And for the thirsty...there's always the world's Largest six pack in Lacrosse, Wi Don't know if there is anything to see inside though. Maybe Lil Lisa would know.
  18. We own DVC for now, but we take advantage of the $100 discount on annual passes and schedule our visits within a 12 month period to save. We're doing it this year, buying June and then going again in the beginning of December. So our costs will only be gas, in a small car, and food. That saves a bunch of money for us. After that we may sell it due to our upcoming retirement. We like camping better anyway. Using DVC for the premiums is not really a savings for us.
  19. We'll be hitting Atlanta about 1 pm on a friday. Anybody know what that will be like?
  20. Just saw on the place that won't be mentioned that there is a person that seems to be pushing people that want to camp away from the Fort or into deluxe or mods. The name was Skyp4wdw. I noticed Magicbus must have seen that too as you looked up who he was. The responses almost sound like somebody who works for Disney and wants to move people into the other resorts. He actually tries to dissuade them from camping. But it would be ok if they stayed in a cabin....hmmmmm. Sorry I peek in there and when I see someone who needs guidance (to a better place) namely us, I send a cryptic message to
  21. That is my fault, I have to pack it with the sign. I am trying to save Curt $$$ in shipping so I can give him back some $$. Hey! I like saving money! :parrot:
  22. Just curious.........what's this? I've never eaten at the Brown Derby. OK, I know I'm fat, but I would need about 3 of those to be satisfied... :parrot:
  23. As soon as the coonskin comes in. I'll put them out with the sign and all!
