Just Beachy

I think the cold weather was a fluke because last year the temps were perfect.  A HUGE thank you to Carol for bringing walls for the EZ-ups and to Jen for bringing that heater!!!  But once I had some cocktails, I didn't mind the cold at all!!  :rofl2:   I don't mind Pres Day wkend, except for the price of airfare and the threat of cancelled flights due to snow up here in the northeast.  I will say, though, for me personally, work-wise, it's a great time of year for me. 
 
As for the parks, I think Jen said it perfectly above.

I can't believe how much I missed in this thread!! I have been overwhelmed by work, family, my own health issue, and weather worries. Ladies, I am READY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I forget it at home, I don't even care. Bring on 2013 WWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Juia, I'm so sorry you're not going to be able to make it. But, that baby and your health comes FIRST! We will be ready for you at WWW 2014.
Nicki, I hope you can find a way to make it www and all of your other family obligations. But, if you have to choose, I'm sure your family will understand that your internet friends came first. :rofl2: Just kidding. We will miss you, but we will understand.
Now....NOBODY else is allowed to cancel. Understand? Good. I told my family, NOBODY is allowed to have ANY issues until AFTER February!!!! I NEED THIS TRIP!!!!! :1sm056pullhair: I've had to cancel FL TWICE now. I don't know if I can take much more. Between my husband and my mother, I'm DONE!!! I just hope my mom is home from the hospital/rehab by Feb 15.

Now that the holidays are basically done, I'm getting REALLY excited for WWW!!!! I can't wait!!!

No worries. I'm a hugger, too. And I don't care if Lou doesn't want a hug...he's getting one from me anyway!! :hug:

Ok, Ladies! So, for all of you who have never been to a www, let me give you some insight as to some of the tomfoolery and shenanigans that may will surely ensue.
Just a little story to warn get you familiar with the mindset that accompanies attending a www . The first time I ever met (in person) my twin sister (she's the pretty, thin one), Karla, or as she pronounces her name with that new england accent ...Kaaahla..., we were both flying in for the 2nd ever www. Our flights were arriving within 15 minutes of each other, mine being first in the gate. I deplaned and quickly found my way over to her gate to greet her as she came off the jetway. There was a long string of passengers that passed me. Some were chuckling, and others were looking at me with what I can only assume was a question in their mind as to whether or not I was sane. I could swear I even saw one mother grab her child's hand a little tighter. Finally, almost the last one off the plane, Karla came out of the jetway! I knew instantly that it was her! And, as many twins share that "connection", she, too, knew instantly who I was! Of course, as Fiends, we all share a certain twisted awesome sense of humor. Since I had no way of knowing whether she would be first or last off the plane, I held up this sign throughout the entire parade of passengers from that flight. As soon as she saw it, and didn't run back on the aircraft, I KNEW we were kindred spirits and that we were destined to be sisters forever! This is the sign I held up to greet her with:

We're only strangers for the first few minutes. Before you know it, we're laughing hysterically and all feel like we've known each other our whole lives!! I know my husband thought I was crazy to fly somewhere to meet people I'd only met on-line. Well...he still thinks I'm crazy, but I'm SO happy I did!! This is the best bunch of people anywhere!!! :heartsmiley:

But the buses have the best poles for dancing!!

Anybody who knows me, knows my dh is not a fan of Disney. That being said, in order to get him to go on vacation, we need to go to places other than Disney. I know...perish the thought, but it's true. So, when my hubby said he wanted to go away, I didn't wait around for him to change his mind, as is typical for him. (His last vacation was 4 years ago...an Eastern Caribbean cruise on RCCI) I gave him 4 choices of places to go (no, Disney wasn't one of them...I know better). I contacted Rhonda and asked for pricing. She got back to me almost instantly!! We chose Punta Cana and the planning began. Rhonda handled EVERYTHING for us from the air reservations, to the hotel and all-inclusive package, to the airport/hotel transfers and trip insurance. She also made a reservation for us at a hotel near our departure airport the night before our VERY early morning flight. Every detail was taken care. And...from what we were told by other guests at the hotel who had been to PC many times and stayed in several different resorts... our travel agent chose a GREAT resort for us for our first time there!!! The resort was AMAZING!!! We had the best time and we can't wait to go back! When we do, we will be booking through Rhonda again!! I cannot recommend her enough! Thanks, Rhonda!! You're the best!!
