  1. Okay guys, we are winding down this report. I can really streeeeetttccchhh out a weekend! DD did NOT want to get up from her nap - she was hilarious. When I first went to wake her up, she turned over and said "I want to dig, Mommy." and immediately went back to sleep. :rofl2: Then, we manage to get her swimsuit on her and when I went into the bathroom to get sunscreen and came back out, she was curled up on the bed. Sorry, kiddo, it's your only day so we gotta wear you out... After more playtime on the beach it was time to head in and get ready for dinner. We have reservation
  2. I agree! And it was a nice view! Oh, don't the little shacks always have the BEST food?! Thanks! I'm a sucker for mac & cheese as well. Yummy! Yes, fabulous view! Hey, I took some pics of the Carowinds campgrounds for you - I'll get them posted the next day or two. Thanks! I tried the method of "take a whole bunch of pictures and few will come out okay". That's pretty much my strategy - I am a terrible picture-taker.
  3. :rofl2: :rofl2: Sorry, Dave, missed the Walker Scooter comment, here's a couple for you, too :rofl2: :rofl2: Enjoying the TR! Hope your power got restarted quickly!!!
  4. Time to take a break for lunch - a late lunch - it was probably 1:00. We walked back up to the hotel and ate at the hotel restaurant again. They had inside and outside seating - we stayed outside. Check out the size of these mac-n-cheese plates! And this was the kid's plate! We did think it was strange not to come with at least a fruit or something. They just got a big vat-o-goodness. :rofl2: DH and I got chicken wraps. They were fine. The sides were very small. He got fruit - which ended up being one small fruit kebob. I got the slaw - which was probably about 1/3 cup portion. N
  5. Thanks! They were having a blast - just digging and digging! I think that is why a lot of people don't like the sand. It just gets EVERYWHERE! I was unpacking our dirty clothes and putting them in the washer and ended up with sand all over the laundry room - had to sweep it out! We'll be finding sand in stuff for weeks. We all had a great time - it's a fun group to hang out with. No problem! More coming up - not much more, but some.
  6. I really enjoyed this TR!!! The bunk-cots were really cool - very clever! I also like the baby-bed tent thing. That would have been soooo much more convenient to haul on trips than the PackNPlay. The PNP was good, don't get me wrong, but took up a lot of luggage space. Your kids are so precious - and they looked like they were having a ball!!!
  7. Gosh, you guys really did a great job of splitting up, meeting up, and re-splitting up. I'm sure it helped that it looks like you all have a really GREAT group of kiddos! Sounds like everyone had a good time!
  8. Thanks!!! Yeah, that's what happened. I put my beach pics on Photobucket and then renamed the Disney album from last year. I'll try to get it fixed tonight.
  9. Having breakfast... Yes, that is Marie lying in the middle of the table. She goes with us everywhere. If anyone knows where to find her at Disney, I would love to know. We're going in a few weeks and DD would just LOVE to meet her! They had cereal, fruit, yogurt, various sweet breads on the continental breakfast. We got plenty to eat. The only cereals they had were Frosted Flakes, Rice Krispies, and Raisin Bran. Back upstairs and everyone was up and putting swimsuits on - off to the beach! Here come your sand shots, Stef. Sorry 'bout the fuzzies - not sure if SiL would want the kids
  10. Okay, I am desperately putting off writing another paper. I'm working on my masters degree right now and am trying to finish up a Probability/Statistics class. ProbStat is the armpit of math. I swear. Anyway, what better way to procrastinate than post some pics??? View from our balcony off to the left: View from our balcony to the right: Look out below!!! I believe those are the "patio" rooms. Look pretty cool. DD wakes up at 7:15 :argh: Doesn't she know she was up til midnight?! Oh well, so I do the thing any good mommy would do - I pop in a movie and lay back down.
  11. I try to think on my feet. Although it is not unusual for me to tell DH something I am planning to do and he says "Oh that will not work" or something like that. Then it does! I did send the purse through the washer and dryer and it came out okay! I know - I thought about you guys. I wondered if there were any campgrounds around because I didn't see any signs for any. I am sooooo the opposite. Not about the gritty "junk" :rofl2: ... just about sand in general. Doesn't bother me. DH hates it too - I tried to tell him to just "give in" to the overall sticky, gritty beach thing
  12. Hey!!! What happened to my pictures?? Now I gotta go do some checkin'....
  13. Okay, so we left off with our arrival at the Tides Folly Beach. Sorry, I didn't get a photo of the hotel. Strange, but oh well. It was very windy when we showed up - even more windy than usual "beach windy". DH picked up the parking pass and room key that Linda left for us and we went upstairs to drop off our stuff and get down to the beach. Linda and the rest of the crew were in Charleston having dinner, so we were on our own for a while. They are usually late and not good at figuring time, so we knew even though they said "We'll be back at 9" that probably meant about 10:30. We were h
  14. Thanks, H! I am proud to be a Carolina girl! ;D not native, but I figure after 15 years maybe I can be grandfathered in... Okay, got my pics... on with the show...
  15. :rofl2: Ha ha ha! No Home Alone! With only one I think it would be hard to forget her. Plus that big ol' empty carseat would be a dead giveaway. Of course, given our packing frenzy...
  16. Just a side note while I'm waiting on DH to email me a couple of pics that go with the next update... Folly Beach is only about 10 miles from historic Charleston, SC. If you search for a hotel in Folly Beach, you will come up with only results in Charleston except for one. The Tides Folly Beach is THE only hotel in Folly Beach. Other than that, you will be about 10 miles away and right across the bridge for Charleston. Here is a photo of two of these hotels: I believe that is a Holiday Inn, a La Quinta, and something else there. These hotels are strangely situated right on top of the hig
  17. It just adds to the excitement, doesn't it? And the craziness!
  18. Okay, got it! I'll start off with the cast and crew. First is me, DH, and DD3. DH's sister's in-law family always go on a summer trip together. Often, they end up on the Carolina coast and we get to join in for a few days. They are a fun fun bunch! So, group number two is... you know what, I better name them or you'll get all confused. SiL's group: Linda (SiL), Bill (her hubby), Kailee(15), Jack( 8 ), and Emma(2) the kids. SiL's BiL's group: Tom (Bill's bro), Linda (I know, there are two), and Adam(15) SiL's parents in-law: Bill (yes another double name) and Brenda Whew!!! Does that c
  19. Comin' right up! :rofl2: Sorry - texting has completely ruined me from using complete words sometimes. Glad you are all ready to read along! I'll do my best not to bore you to death... OH, me too - that's why I couldn't resist. Pull up a seat! Why yes, yes I do! Comin right up... now let me figure this out...
  20. Hi everyone! I've been enjoying reading everyone's TRs so much, I just couldn't wait until our Disney trip next month to get "get in the game"! So, here is a non-camping, non-Disney TR for ya - I hope some of you will read along. DH's sister and her in-law fam were all coming down to Folly Beach, SC, in June. In short, we got the dates wrong and she called Sunday saying "Hey guys - where are you?" One hour later, we were packed up and on our way. More on that to come.... We stayed 2 nights and had a wonderful time. I'm currently getting all my pics loaded so I can get some photos to y
  21. We like the Jungle Cruise too! With DD2 last year, we did character meets and Dumbo first thing. We hit the JC about mid-morning, I guess. Your grands are adorable!!
  22. Great update! We did not spend much time at DHS, so it is really fun reading about it. I think this trip, I might have to get DH to do something with DD so I can ride RNRC!
  23. What a great report so far! I know you were thrilled to have this time with your family! I'm with you on the scooter thing. My MiL can get around okay day-to-day, but there is no way she could navigate Disney or anything else by foot (arthritis, knee problems, age). We took her with us to the zoo and tried to get her to rent a scooter and she refused, and she ended up missing out on a lot of good stuff. Yay about nursing school! That's pretty good job security, too. There are always sick people who need to be taken care of.
  24. Wow - how have I missed seeing this report??? Am enjoying it so much! Your whole group is hilarious! You guys look like you're having a great time. That's so great that the kids were responsible enough to do their parent-less night and do it well! Here's to some grown-up conversation! :doublebeer: I saw you were riding Kali River Rapids at AK - do you think a 3yo could handle that? She's not big on roller coasters or "fast" rides - although we tricked her into riding Goofy's Barnstormer last year when she was 2. She did fine, but when we asked her if she wanted to go again she said "
  25. Great TR! I absolutlely love the Sleepy Hollow picture - beautiful! I also enjoyed Gutsy - that Zoe is a hoot!
