  1. Thanks for doing a TR! Looking forward to the pics and the cool "little things" that you always notice! I assume we are going to get a Dole Whip lesson at some point?
  2. Congratulations!!!! :bravo: Also want to hear how the challenge goes on Saturday night - both of you guys!
  3. I never thought about the waking up part - def not a Waking Beauty here either  I'm more of a face-plant-in-the-pillow and wake-up-with-red-lines-on-cheeks kind of sleeper! ha ha ha
  4. I'm Sleeping Beauty, too! But it kinda makes sense... I'm an excellent sleeper. No kidding. DH says if there was a sleepin' team, I would be captain! :rofl2:
  5. I think there are a couple, but the most popular is gardengrocer.com But I don't think they deliver alcohol - but that would be worth a quick cab ride to the liquor store I think... :'(
  6. Now THAT I think we can ALL agree to!!
  7. I just realized I still have the phone numbers for the red phone booths... ring-a-ding! 407-827-9862 407-827-9863 407-827-9861
  8. ....sitting around a campfire drinking ice cold beer.... and knowing that you have nothing to do for a week but enjoy... no cleaning, shopping, working, nothing but enjoying the Fort...
  9. Good call - I'll stick with the full hook-up. I don't really think walking distance to the landing or pool or anything would enhance my visit worth an extra $100. Thanks for all the good info! I think I'll request the 1700 loop.
  10. So, I went online to reserve my site. Next time I call - probably this afternoon - I'll ask about AAA and request a loop. I went ahead and reserved full-hookup because 1600-1800 sound pretty good. Plus, I can always upgrade - I at least wanted to have a site reserved. Let me ask this - what is the advantage to Preferred? I mean, if I'm going to spend the extra $$ wouldn't I just want to go ahead and get Premium?
  11. Great, great, great info! I like the sound of the 1600-1900 loops being more spread out and quiet. Plus, they are full hook-up, so cheaper :-) We will have a golf cart so I don't really think distance from anywhere is an issue. But, it might be cool to stay down in the 100-300 area to be walking distance from the Settlement. What are those loops that you can see from the Bike Barn looking across the Meadows pond? They look very "exposed" and unshady - having shade will definitely be important in July...
  12. I have read about the loops and the info, but I want to hear it from you guys who actually stay there! There is a possibility we will be renting an RV for our summer trip instead of staying in a cabin. So, which loop or loop type do you like best and why??? And no reason for choosing one over the other is too silly. I'm pretty silly myself. Spill.
  13. Sounds like so much fun!!! We love Crystal Palace for lunch! I have thought about doing Chef M's for breakfast, but it's tough to get up that early for us. Enjoying your TR! Your daughter is ADORABLE! What a fun age to have her at Disney!
  14. I'm showing it operating in July. Thanks! DD is into Dumbo these days and has been talking about riding it again. Awesome pics of the construction!!! Keep 'em coming! :yourock:
  15. Okay peeps - somebody help me out here - getting a little confused - we are going in July - will Dumbo be open? I can't tell if they are working on that or not - I thought they were adding to it, right?
  16. Great report! I can't imagine the loss of power - what terrible luck and terrible weather! I'm glad your last day was nice, though. Good to see Lola feeling better!
  17. I have an identification bracelet for my 3yo - inside is her name and both mine and DH's cell phone numbers. I also put her allergy on it - just in case. I tell her it's her "ticket" and that Mickey will be very sad if he sees her without it. :rofl2:
  18. That sounds really cool, too! Is the Contempo Cafe inside the main building - or is there a view of the lake or monorail or anything interesting? I guess the same question goes for Captain Cook's. Yes, we are definitely not slaves to our food. I am not a stranger to having a dinner of a turkey leg and popcorn - Our last trip we were surprised at the variety of CS places out there - and we didn't even come close to scratching the surface!
  19. The grilled cheese and Dole Whip are at Captain Cook's Snack Co.... the food court-type CS at the Poly. Oh perfect! We love to find cool CS to eat at - we are not meal-plan people - always OOP. Going to the Poly would be super-easy after a long morning at MK. Then we can just stay on the monorail back over to CR to catch a boat back to the Fort. I think I've got it - we will have probably 3 park days where we go to MK in the morning, so one day is Captain Cook's, one day is Cosmic Rays and the other day is Crystal Palace. CP is a great character lunch - and not as pricey as some others.
  20. I'm like you, Kate - reading this TR made my study break a little longer than planned! Great Job, Doodlebug!! :D
  21. You had me with grilled cheese... we will DEFINITELY hit the Poly one day!! :D Is that Kona? That chicken sounds pretty good too - I am a meat-n-potatoes girl and green beans is one of the few veggies I like - oh, the choices! Sounds like Yak & Yeti and Flame Tree are good choices for AK - Do you generally need and ADR for Yak & Yeti? We have pretty good luck with walking up to some TS - like Plaza - but others are a no-go. Thanks for all the input - lunch is the main meal we all 3 sit down and eat together at the same time while we are at WDW. Dinner is usually just whenever some
  22. "Flat Stanley" is a children's book that is basically about a boy who is flattened and all his adventures that he is able to do because he is flat. Teachers often assign Flat Stanley projects to elementary age children (think 3rd grade) who make a paper Flat Stanley and mail it somewhere. At some point, it is mailed back to the child with messages and information about its adventures. I have done several Flat Stanley letters for my nieces and nephews - taking pictures of the Flat Stanley wherever I go for a while - very much like you did with GI Jordan. The kids then get to present their F
  23. That looks really good - I could see DH and I splitting a sandwich that size - we don't eat big, just often! I don't think I would have thought to go to WL for lunch - but it's a great location on the way back to FW from MK. I thought about doing the Akershus princess lunch at Epcot one day, but that's such a hike to get back to the cabin for naptime... Does anyone like any of the places at the monorail resorts? It would be fun to check out the different resorts midday. Last time at MK we did Crystal Palace one day and also the Plaza one day. Really liked them both! On park d
