Just curious...Are you calling or just checking the website? I wasn't looking for the 5th, but I called and was able to add the 6th to my December reservation.

I have done both. although I have been checking online more then calling.

We love doing the smucker uncrustable PBJs because they are frozen but by lunch time they have defrosted but the bread is still nice and soft and the jelly is still cool. very easy to grab and put in the Disney bag in the mornings too.

Oh and yes a tent that size should fit on the pad without an issue. Check out the sites at the fort app on phones done by fiends. you can look at specific sites and see their sizes and then you can put a request in for those specific sites. Its not a guarantee that you will get that site but its always nice to try. Disney tries their best to give you what you want or at least close.

We have a Coleman Prairie Breeze tent 9 person 14 x 10 ft. We love it and the cots from bass pro fit in it without touching the walls. We are involved in boy scouts so the tent gets used a good bit and we have not had any issues. It gives us plenty of room and is easy to set up.

I keep checking for a full hookup site to open up on December 5th as we have the 6th-21st booked but would like to come the 5th.

We've stayed there twice.  The first time was quite a while ago, maybe 1997. The second time was maybe in 2008 or so.

 

It's a nice place.  Nothing special.  Certainly not the nicest resort you can find along a beach in Florida.  It has a nice pool, and a free mini golf course.

 

The restaurants on property are about the same level of quality as you would find at a Disney resort- I'd compare them to what they have at the Saratoga Springs DVC.  Nice, but nothing spectacular.

Thanks.  These are the answers I am looking for to help us make our decision. As our wedding is in south FL so we may just stay at another hotel that is more local as we are going to Disney at the beginning of December.

No we aren't.

My fiancé and I are thinking about going to Disney's Vero beach for our honeymoon Nov.7th-10th. We have never been there before so any advice on the hotel and its restaurants would be greatly appreciated.

I can believe it.  We were at POP and wanted to extend for Saturday night (so we could actually sleep before driving home) and they told us they were COMPLETELY booked.  We couldn't even get a late check out.

 

Sounds like the parks would have been a zoo over the weekend!

My Sister-in-Law and her family were at the wilderness lodge this weekend and only did the parks late at night other wise it was just miserable.

1500 is open for business.  Yes, there was a travel trailer, slide out and everything, I would estimate at least 28 feet long in it.  So much for the rules.  1600 is still closed however.

Ok awesome. I put my request fax in for the 1500 loop sites. Fingers crossed!

On Saturday I noticed a travel trailer (about 26' or so) set up in 1500.  Weird.

 

And by the way, as of Saturday ALL loops were open and FULL!  Most crowded I've seen the Fort in awhile.

Wow that's crazy busy! I check in at the fort on Saturday.

Is Loop 1500 open again or are they still putting guests with partials in the preferred or premium sites?

My sister and brother and law are leaving for Disney tomorrow evening. They are staying at wilderness lodge this trip but are spending one of the days there at fort wilderness because my nephew who is 4 LOVES Cloud (one of the ponies at the fort) He rides him EVERY time he goes to the fort.  

Well today while I was watching him he asked me why the camper (we have a popup) was up. I told him it was up because his uncle and I are going camping soon and he then asked me where we were going camping and before I could answer he told me we should go to Disney because that is where cloud is and he is very nice and that he loves him. Any way after the conversation he decided he wanted to draw a picture for Cloud since it will be a long time till he sees him. (He doesn't know he is going to Disney tomorrow as his parents are surprising him) He asked me if we could mail Cloud the picture/letter telling Cloud he loves him. He is going to think we mailed it when really his mom is going to bring it with her and talk to the people doing the pony rides that day before he gets there.

Is there any other way that we could make him seeing Cloud extra special this trip? Any ideas anyone???
