  1. I'm just thinking about all the different types of people that come to Disney and the challenges in evacuating them. Babies, special needs, pregnant women, older, younger, different sizes and physical abilities, etc. it's got to be hard.

I know my autistic son who have panicked. Heck I am terrified of heights, sometimes I have a hard time just riding on the monorail, so I probably would have had a panic attack trying to evacuate. The rescuers are trained for those sort of incidents though, so I am sure all was well.

  2. I agree and learn to back, I ended up helping someone back their trailer into a spot on the 300 loop last weekend. Once I got him calmed down and stop fighting with his wife over directions, it was so bad he was in the shrubs on the awning side of his camper. Took me a few shots but finally got him moved over and in their spot. Told him just relax and enjoy their Disney vacation.

This is what I love about campers in general. I know my husband has helped several people back in. Sometimes after a long drive down people are stressed and nerves are pretty tight so sometimes all you need is a helpful person you aren't related to to help calm you down. Often when we pull in someplace we drop the kids off at the playground and I'll get out of the car to spot for my husband. It's just not worth arguing.

  3. I have to say when someone is injured in the parks they are very quick to take care of you.

Our daughter was injured on the Buzz Lightyear ride. She was 6 at the time and as we were getting off the ride the car lurched forward and she banged her face. Her nose immediately started bleeding like crazy. They quickly rushed in to take her backstage and had medics check her out. Her nose wasn't broken and it did stop bleeding after about 10 minutes. They had some big whig types there the entire time, they were very nice to all of us. Her clothes and shoes were covered in blood so they sent someone to get her an outfit in her favorite color with shoes. They asked if we wanted her taken to the hospital, we didn't, it wasn't a bad injury. After they got her all cleaned up and we were done they gave us fastpasses for the rest of the day and we were on our way.

We heard from them later that night, they had someone stop by our campsite to check on her. And we heard from them when we returned home.

It was just an accident, she wasn't doing anything stupid and they didn't do anything wrong but I was very impressed with how professionally the situation was handled. We joke every time we go that one of the kids should sacrifice themselves with a small injury so we can get a days worth of fastpasses.

Anyhow back to the story of the guy who lost his fingertips, it goes to show you that they do have warnings for a reason, I imagine he will always heed those warnings now.

  4. We've done rope drops twice and both were for our last trip in January. We did rope drop at Epcot because my daughter wanted to meet Anna and Elsa and I didn't want a mega long line, we still had to wait two hours but it wasn't bad at all. And we did a rope drop at MK a couple days later just the two of us because she wanted to fill out her autograph book. It was a blast with just the two of us but a total pain to bring the five guys.
