  1.

I didn't want to have to, but what could we do.

We recently took in a fifth cat. We really didn't want to but he seemed to choose us and I've been feeding him for close to a year, he started coming inside and then I took him to get fixed with the idea that he would go back outside. Well there were some issues with the neutering and he has to be inside for at least 3-4 weeks, so he is ours. He slept in our bed last night, curled up to my husband, so he is ours, I couldn't turn him away now.

Lou, you are a wonderful human being.

  2. I agree on the bunk mattresses. I do have 4 pieces of 4" foam I'd be willing to bring.

I just looked at another rental place that is less than the last place I looked.

If anyone is for sure interested, please post here. We'll start talking deposits and firm plans Jan time frame.

I am definitely interested. And yeah I know how "comfy" the bunks and beds are, luckily at just over 5' I can fit and I'd probably bring a topper with me but also I can sleep anywhere. I'd also be interested in the tickets if you end up going Ed, that is really nice. January will be the perfect time for deposits as then my husband can pay for this instead of getting me a birthday gift. Yay!! You ladies rock!

  3. If I were you, I would purchase your tickets separately, and then you can purchase them at any time. I would recommend purchasing from Undercover Tourist. (They only took about 7 days to deliver them to me). Adding tickets to the reservation itself means adding for ALL, and since we all will have different ticket needs, we can't do that.

Once you confirm, you can be added to the reservation, and your tickets linked to My Disney Experience and the Magic Band.

YES, you can use Magical Express, that can also be added to the reservation.

Awesome thanks. I am totally boring, most of our trips my mother has done all the reserving and the last trip I did everything online. I didn't even know about undercover tourist. Now looking, thanks again.

  4. Just poking around, looks like we can get a bunkhouse for 820 for 5 nights that is advertised to sleep 10, but realistically will sleep 8

(4 bunks, a queen bed, sofa bed, dinette bed).

I would willingly sleep in a tent out back, so that would be 9 of us for the 5 nights at approximately $160 each total.... (campsite and camper).

If we have fewer than 9, they have smaller campers for a bit less.

Any more than 9, someone would have to look into an additional site and another camper.

Awesome, I am short so I can sleep in a bunk or the dinette or heck the floor. As long as I don't have cats climbing all over me I will be a happy camper. I looked into round trip tickets to fly and I think my husband will be totally okay with the cost. I do have a question about tickets, I'd want the ability to go to the parks but don't have a pass, could tickets be added to the reservation? And if so could that be done closer to the departure dates. Also if staying on site can we use the magical express? I've never flown in, we've only driven, which I might do anyhow because I'm cheap. Just thinking out loud and getting excited about getting away ALONE!!! (I do love my family, I really do)

  5. The CG police was just driving through the loop & caught the skate boarder in front of our site.  They had about a 2 or 3 minute conversation. The kid didn't look very happy afterwards.

I blame the parents for that one. My son skateboards but he knows most parks don't allow it so his board usually doesn't come with us when we camp unless we are planning on taking him to a skatepark. And when we go to Disney the board stays home, no need for it since they aren't allowed.

  6. Awwww! That's cute.

Here we are on Dinosaur, we road this ride numerous times because our youngest loved it and he rarely loves rides so we did it over and over again for him.

And this is why I like the candid shots, I am in this photo in the background, I look like heck but I am there, I am never in photos and since I wasn't taking photos I was able to watch my autistic son interact with Ferb. Yeah memory maker is totally worth it.

  7. If I went multiple times a year I probably wouldn't get it every time but we aren't able to go more than once every two years so for us it's totally worth it. I love that I don't have to worry about catching every moment. When my kids met with characters I'd ask the photographer to get candid interaction shots, so worth it to enjoy watching and not having to see everything through my camera lens. And then the ride photos, I don't know about you but we ride certain rides over and over again and have fun doing lots of silly shots on the rides with memory maker we get all of those. Also we make sure to take advantage of the photographers, getting pictures of my family together is an extra that I can't put a price on. Yeah I think it's worth it.

  8. We have theaters like that, but it's not entire theaters, it's balcony sections for over 21 only. Not all the theaters have this section, and they never seem to put Disney movies in those theaters........

This is an AMC theater. They redid the entire thing and when you get your tickets your seats are assigned. The seats fully recline. I won't go except for during the day when it's inexpensive and since I homeschool we often go and it's usually empty. The only problem is not falling asleep.

  9. I have to talk to my husband but my schedule is empty then and since it would only be me going the cost would be fairly low. So I am totally in, I need to do more fun stuff for myself.

  10. Thank you so much for sharing your trip photos. The sappy mom I am I found myself crying a lot because it looked like you had so much fun. Our trip in January was our last trip together as our full family, our oldest left for school this year. I think trips with older kids are so much fun. Our youngest though does not like roller coasters so I spent a lot of time on our last trip waiting with him, which was fine.

The idea of Disney bounding is awesome, I hadn't heard of it but I will have to tell my kids about it, I imagine at least a couple of them will be doing it for our next trip.

I may have to try the homeschool program, I had looked into it for this year but we knew we'd be doing a bunch of trips over the summer leading up to the oldest heading off so I knew financially it wouldn't be feasible. I'll consider it for another year.

I also love that you went without your husband, not that he wasn't there but that you went anyhow and had a blast. I think I may consider doing a rental and only bringing the kids that can get away, it gets so hard as they get older and have so many activities.

Anyhow back to your trip, it looked wonderful, the joy was definitely coming through. Your children are beautiful.

  11. Oh, and going to the parks is completely optional and actually our best WWW is when no one went to the parks. Just hanging out and enjoying each other's company makes it fun!!! (However, if you NEED that ToT or salted caramel fix then by all means no one will stop you.)

No plans, no schedules, no kids, no husbands

Wait, does this mean I can stay up late and sleep in, or heck go to bed early and get up early? And no animals to feed before I even have a chance to go pee…woohoo!! As you can tell I don't get away often.

  12. My husband works so hard and then when we vacation he continues to work hard because he is the primary driver when we are towing the trailer. I can tow it just fine but being a former trucker he just isn't comfortable not being in control. We always vacation with the trailer because it's cheaper than two hotel rooms. So now that the oldest has moved out we are down to just 6 of us. Six is a magic number at Disney, it means we could do one hotel room. We've looked at flights, they aren't too much for round trip. It's a 20 hour drive down to Disney for us, we end up staying in a campground on the way down. We are really, really, really considering a non-fort Disney trip and staying in one of the family suites and just eating at Disney for all our meals which my kids would love. We would probably spend a little more, but we would only go if we could go during free dining. But I am worried, I am worried that we will be miserable in one room, I worry that the kids and I will miss the peace and relaxation of the Fort. But seriously I want my husband to be able to go on a trip and relax. I am so torn. I've even considered sending him on a plane and me driving down with the kids and renting a trailer so all the set up is done. Please tell me I am not the only person who ponders all this crap?

  13. I have stayed in 20-30 different sites and never had a bad one. Some were better than others, but I was at FW.

Mostly I meant "bad" as in difficult to back in or in the case where he mentioned a badly placed tree. It's worth knowing that stuff in advance at check-in rather than waiting until you get to the site. Some sites at the fort are certainly better than others and the app is great for knowing that.
