  2. We went thru a very bad storm in TN., but came out ok. We always lower ours to one side when we leave for the day. It looks like alot of them collasped in the center, I think you just can't take a chance. these storms come out of nowhere. I would have felt sick too coming back to that.
  3. Thank you!! You will really enjoy it, and the bath houses are the cleanest I have ever seen in a state park.
  4. Last weekend we went to Desoto State park in Alabama. It is a beautiful park. Just thought everyone might like to see.I have to say I am really impressed by the sites and campgrounds in Alabama. We live in Georgia, so we go to alot of our parks, but they really invested in Bama. Roll Tide! Here's our site This is the Lodge. We ate at the seafood buffet. Pretty good. The lodge was built by the CCC. My Hubby and my oldest We visited Little river canyon national Preserve. About 15 mins. away . This place is gorgeous. They have a beautiful olympic size pool too. My youngest Our ca
  5. Thanks for the info, don't worry about it, I get so busy reading what everyone else is saying, I forget to check my own posts.
  6. So really, what is up with charging you $5 dollars extra anyway?. Is that the poop collection fee?
  7. How lucky!! How many times, I've told my truck to go to Disney and it just ignores me
  8. Won't have time to horseback ride, but definitely would like to see the plantation home and go for some nice walks.
  9. Well it will just be an overnighter, but we love state parks, (not to mention the price), but thought from the pictures, there would be some nice things to see and enjoy after being cooped up in the truck all day. Do you know about how far off 75 it is?
  10. When I book my campsite this week, it will need to be in a pet loop because my parents have their dog. If I ask to be beside them in the loop, will they charge me that extra $5?
  11. We are looking into Stephen Foster cultural center State park for our overnite stop on our way down, it's got nice reviews. Any fiends visited?
  12. Thanks everyone, when I told my girls,( They both already have scooters) that their dad and I might bring scooters too, my teenage daughter was mortified. All the sudden the scooters were not cool anymore. Funny how that works isn't it. Teenagers gotta love um :smug:
  13. That's just crazy. They know perfectly well what merch. campers want. Not $ 80 chairs. I suppose thats to go along with the ticket increse.
  14. Thanks everyone, I thought I had read they were allowed, but just wanted to see what my options were.
  15. For everyone that has been to the fort, have you seen folks with electric scooters? We have some and thought rather then renting a golf cart, we could bring our scooters. Would we just park them at the bike racks, and are there places where they cannot be ridden.
  16. We are going to Desoto State park in July, skipping August, (too darn hot), then Fort Mountain state park for Labor Day on Sept., want to go somewhere for October school beak, just haven't decided, and then end the year out in Pigeon Forge for Thanksgiving and go to Dollywood for Smoky Mountain Christmas. We love it!
  17. Yes, I was thinking the same thing. Sara at her age, I think will get used to it, and be a good campin' buddy. I think that my old girl though having never been taken, simply for the fact we've only had a TT now for about 2 years, is probably better off where she is content. That's at home. I hate to leave her that long, but I would rather her be happy.
  18. Hey everyone, we have 2 beautiful cats; Sara, who is 3 and My old girl Katie who is 13. We have taken Sara camping with us twice and Katie once. When we get to where we are going and hook up, Sara settles in by the next day, Katie not so much. I could tell she was not having fun. Well, we only took about a two hour drive to get to where we were going and the first hour was car sick and fussing. I know thats cats for you, but, next year we are planning a 10 day trip to the fort and I'm a bit concerned about them traveling that distance.(about 10 hours). Sara, I think will do ok, but katie, I ju
  19. Ok, so i have the google earth app, and I have been looking. But, really unless you've been there and seen these loops and sites first hand, it really doesnt help too much. We will be booking a premium site, and I was looking at 800,900 and 1300. My parents will be coming down in their camper, and being older they really want to be closer to the pool. So any suggestions or opinions I would love.
  20. Thank you for the "Hello", I think I will probably become an addict.
