  1. Hello All,

I ordered my Fort Fiends Sign 2 weeks ago, and just wanted to check from those of you who have them or any admins about the ETC of said sign. Just want to make sure I have it for my December trip.

Also, my fiance is convinced she is going to deorate or "Bedazzle"  YAYYY it. Is this frowned upon by fellow fiends?                                                                                 :user2552:

  2. Kanye?

    Who's Kanye?

Anyway, Harold, you and I live close to each other, and an hour and a half is typical for me too.  From Tampa to WDW is usually just an hour, no matter what.  The variable is getting across the bay and through Tampa to get to I-4.  Sometimes that only takes 30 minutes, sometimes, if the traffic is bad, it takes an hour or more.

But 1.5 hours from Tampa to WDW is slow.

Should of stated that I live in South Tampa, 15 mins from 275, once on the HWY its a quick Hr & 15 Mins to the gates of MK!

  3. Hey Jayco1,

Let me beging by anwsering your first question: Yes you will receive a hard "credit card like" card, if not a Magic Band! Both work the same way, except the magic band will have spending capabilities, and act as a room key as well. But either way, you will be able to hop to and from all four of the parks any day. No black outs.

My fiance and I, are going on our 3 straight year with the passes, and do not see us stopping in the foreseeable future. We live in Tampa, and its a quick 1.5 hour drive from our door to Magic kingdoms gate! So We heavily utilize Day-cations, and go for one day/night. We also finance the pass so its a measly $60 bucks a month for the 2 of us, and we find that to be a VALUE!

If you are planning on going to WDW more than a dozen time in a year... WELL WORTH IT! Welcome to the club!

  4. Welcome! As I am not familiar with premium loops, because I am a Tent camper, but i do know that you should not worry about too much direct sunlight. Most if not all, sites have nice shade trees keeping your RV and site cool during peak "Sunny" hours.

And as I saw lots of folks reccommending taking the boat to MK, I 100% agree. Its your best bet, and makes for a fun trip over.

As for Bike locks, I have never seen anybody use them! FW is a very safe place, and if you cant trust people at DW where can you.

Hope I helped a bit, and good luck with your Route!

  5. Welcome Fellow Newbie! I should preface that I'm new to the website, but not new to Campsite!

And my advice with a Golfcart is Get one! I've gotten one the first 5-6 times I camped, and on the 7th we decided to pass on the cart, and it was a huge mistake.

Not only are they fun and convenient they made your whole stay more enjoyable. To and from the comfort stations, to the pools, and you can park them at the Main Bus station to the parks, instead of taking a bus from the loop to the station and to the parks.

All i know is that, from now on I will always be renting a golf cart. Or atleast until I purchase my own!

    Have a great time!

  6. Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes, and the information. A special thanks to mouseketab.....Carol, I was able to book Dec18-22, and conjoin my 2 reservations, and then cancel the 18th, and the 19th!

So I am now booked and Incredibly excited to spend the holidays in the Fort.

Again, a big thanks for all the feedback and ideas! Feel free to stop by for a cocktail or some eggnog if you see my sign!

  7. Hello,

Farily new to the boards, and Fort Fiends. I have a dilemma and am seeking some help or advice.

As I am sure most of you know it is EXTREMELY tough to book a site during the holidays, and Christmas season. But with some persistence, I was able to make and book 2 separate reservations for back to back nights (Dec 21- 22, and Dec 22-23) at Fort Wilderness. BUT the kicker is when booking the inital night (Dec 22-23 online I booked a "Pop-up/tent site" which is desired and the next reservation I booked for the night before is for a "Premium Site" (intended for RV's). So my question is, Does Disney have "emergency sites" reserved for occasions like this, or has anybody had this problem? If so hwas it resovled and how?

Any infor, help, or advice is welcomed. Thanks

  8. Hello, Long time Disney camper, but new to Fort Fiends. Here is my dilemma: I have reservations for a tent camp site December 20th-21st, and the 22nd-23rd. I know they book almost 500 days in advance and it is near impossible to get nights that close to Christmas. I was hoping someone on here had some advice, or heck even someone with a change of plans, and that isnt able to stay that night. I'm not sure if sites/reservations can be traded like DVC points/reservations but if so I'd be willing to try.

Any information will help. Thanks from a new Fort Fiend.
