  1. As someone from Philly, I can fully appreciate the Jersey comment. Jersey week here would be my nightmare I'm not saying people should be able to get unlimited advance FPP, but it would be nice/smart if you were able to add FPs as you day goes on. As you are able to with the paper tickets. I like access to three in advance but why not give the option of adding more if you use your three. I'm sure we will return to Disney, but we probably won't make the trip three times a year (from PA) as we did this year. I can stand in line at Hersheypark!
  2. Were here now, and while our MBs are working great, were still able to use our AP cards to schedule additional FPs. Once that goes away, being limited to 3 FPPs a day is going to suck. Also, I've tried to reschedule and add so FPPs and the app keeps giving me an error message. I refuse to stand in line at a kiosk behind a group of people who a) don't know how to use it and sorry to say, don't have a full command of the English language making the process take twice as long. I just want to push some buttons in my phone and make it happen. But Disney better rethink the tiered system and limit
  3. We have to keep checking in. I can handle that. It's just a peaceful golf cart ride away from the family each morning.
  4. All hail the Disney Magic and my husband on the internet... He was able to get the explorer to work this morning. He had to get it back in neutral tow and then somehow reset it. Whew! Hours and thousands of dollars saved!
  5. Well, we made it. But not without some drama. First off I didn't get any of the 5 sites I requested and then they put us in a site that was only 44' deep so I called and explained that we weren't going to fit there, we were kindly switched to site 316. Which is perfectly fine, and much tou fathers delight right by the comfort station so he can use that shower. The drama. The transmission in our road blew out. We've been having trouble with it and apparently it switched out of neutral on the trip and kaput. It's sitting in the overflow for the next two weeks, then we'll tow her home and bid ad
  6. We have our 45' MH in a preferred site in 300 loop right now. A premium would give us a little more space, but we fit just fine and had no trouble backing in. Driving around the loop was a little hairy, but we made it.
  7. We are planning I stopping at a walmart in Columbia, SC tonight arriving at the Fort around noon or so tomorrow. I'm ready to set up!
  8. How does the Fort handle recycling? Glass? Cans? Plastic? Paper/Cardboard? (as I look at the wrapped christmas gifts waiting to get packed) Comingled? Separated? Dear Husband will want to know. He once drove bags of recycling across the country and back because we couldn't find a campground that recycled them. Packing makes me so ready to get to the destination and unpack!
  9. I don't know if you are helping or making me more confused. Maybe I'll give my top 5 choices and see where we land.
  10. I think once I've been to the Fort and see everything I'll be less stressed for future trips. Our first Disney trip a few years ago I was a mess, and it turned out perfectly. Now I don't think twice about our trips, it's like second nature. This time I feel like I'm making decisions blindly. I'm a bit of an over-planner... in case that's not coming through clearly.
  11. I'm faxing my site request list to Disney tomorrow and wanted the opinion of someone whose familiar with the 300 loop. My first three choices are 307, 329, 316 I think 307 is definitely our first choice, but not sure if I should switch 316 and 329. We'd prefer not to be crammed right beside another site. 329 has the trail to the fishing canal, which I don't mind, it's better than starting at the side of another camper. I'm also not opposed to 334 or 335. If anyone thinks either of those are better. Thoughts?
  12. I'll be at the Fort with my kids. I have a 9 and 10 year old son. And a 6-year-old daughter who will pitch a fit if she can't play with the boys. We'll probably be somewhere in the 300 loop.
  13. We are arriving at the Fort next Sunday, when should I do my online check-in? We're leaving Friday night, would friday be too early. I'm going to fax my site request on Wednesday. And also, do I just check in for our first reservation or all 8 of them. :panic:
  14. I'm always tempted to use a travel agent, but I kinda like the challenge of pulling it all together myself. BUT, after the stress of this trip I might reconsider.
  15. We are also going to Busch Gardens one day and seaworld. I'm hoping those will be more normal amusement park crowds.
  16. This trip was my husbands idea, I usually plan them when the crowds are low. BUT we're going and we're going to LOVE it. See, that's the margarita talking already. We were at MK this past Easter/Spring break. We managed to do what we wanted to do despite the jaw dropping crowd. It was funny, we had been at Disney most of the week before the Easter crowd came (very low crowd) and then took the coach to Key West. But it was a little too cold and windy to camp there so we cut that trip short a day and went back to Disney. The difference in crowd level between those few days was crazy.
  17. YES! I got on the Disney site first thing this morning and there was an available preferred site for our last missing night!!! I was so excited I could barely type in my CC info. So now I have a preferred site reserved for our entire two weeks! I am so so so very happy. If anymore is looking for a full-hook up site for the 28th I'm canceling that reservation later today.
  18. We will be in the 300 loop from dec 22-jan 4. We have a tiffin zephyr motorhome. Or if you see someone walking two greyhounds, most likely with margarita in hand, that's me. I'm making my margarita this week.
  19. I make my own lime aid concentrate, and then add tequila, triple sec and water and a perfect margarita awaits. I've also made other fruit concentrates but I prefer a classic lime.
  20. I'm going to stop reading articles about how busy Disney is between Christmas and New Years. I AM going to embrace the fact that it will be crowded. I AM going to have faith in my already scheduled fast passes and I AM going to replace the water in my water bottles with margarita.
  21. It's amazing what a deer can endure and survive. Last year I was behind a car that hit a deer and the deer flipped down the road give times. I pulled over quickly and called the police. The deer was, we all thought, barely alive. After 10 minutes of two cops, a game warden, the guy who hit the deer and me standing around discussing what we should do the dang thing hopped up and went running into the woods. We all looked at each other like "WTF was that."
  22. That's me too. Probably why it feels to weird to go on this trip with no plan.
