  1. This was just emailed to me. I don't know if it has been discussed yet. It was reported in the Miami Herald Newspaper.

    LAKE BUENA VISTA -

Disney has announced that limits on the new FastPass+ program are going away and the theme park giant is also adding pa park hopper feature to the system.

The Tampa Bay Times reports (http://bit.ly/1nu2q7g) FastPass+ lets visitors make advance reservations for select rides, shows and parades. The free service is part of Disney's billion-dollar project to enhance vacation planning.

Since it began, visitors have been restricted to three FastPass+ uses a day, all within just one park, but starting Monday uses

Users will still be able to sign up in advance for three passes. They can then get another one at any FastPass+ kiosk in the parks. After using the fourth FastPass+, the process can be repeated.

  2. Thanks TCD for your day to day diary. I have been going to the Ft since 1978. But mostly our adventures have been since 2001. But after reading your reports, I still learn things. I must have missed about what they built over by the dam behind the 300 loop. I know you reported it as a bat house ala April fools. But I missed what it actually is. Our next trip is in Dec. so if I see your site set up, I will have to toot my horn! Again thanks :wave1:

  3. Regarding the Fantasmic show we have only done it with a dinner package. The last time we did it was in Nob 2013. They had just redone the seating. And to be honest I do not care for the new seating. I am a amputee so I do use my wheelchair. The old way of seating was all the way to the right. With wheelchair seating top row. There would be a two seater next to the wheel chair. So hubby would sit next to me and anyone traveling with us would sit in front of us. Well now, hubby sits in front and my guest would be in the row in front of him. But eventually I had to use my cell phone to talk to them. So unless it has changed, anyone in wheelchairs be prepared to not sit with your entire party

  4. How are non guest going to be able to link MB to FP? Will it only be for pass holders? We just went to WDW on March 2-12, with our Fl resident passes expiring on March 4. We were able to link the FP for 3/1-3/3. Then on the 4th it would not allow me because my passes had expired. As soon as I renewed them, I was able to link FP. I figured they didnt want people to take FP when there wasnt proof that they wouldnt be there. Sounds like it is going to be something that is going to be constantly changed. It doesnt affect me at all cuz we always stay at the FT :heartsmiley:

  5. I just read were Disney is now offering the magic bands to off site guest. They will be able to reserve fast passes, and I think dining reser, up to 30 days before their arrival. They do have to purchase the bands. I was thinking this is a perk (the bands) for resort guest. Right now it is easy to book fast passes. But I am thinking in the future it might be difficult to reserve as many and as easily. Any thoughts?

  6. I was at the front desk for a different reason when I decided to ask a CM about the pet loops. He ran down the list, as if he memorized it,of the non pet loops and pet loops. So yes there are non pet loops I too obey the Ft's rules. I believe that people think just because they spend x amount of dollars, they are entitled to do whatever they want. I wonder what is going to happen if God forbids, a dog attacks another dog or for that matter a person

  7. I apologize if this topic has been brought up in the past. I have only been apart of this wonderful blog for about 6 months. I was thinking about this earlier. I have been going to WDW almost since day 1. My hubby and I started making our own traditions since we were married in 2001. One of the traditions was going to MVMCP. I want to say the first three years we went it was great. Not only was it great, the ticket was under $30 if I am not mistaken. Then every year something was taken away. It started with no MVMCP. Then they stopped taking family pictures, then the annual party ornaments went from porcelain to felt. But the biggest thing I missed is when they had all party quest waiting on either side of the park. They would close up all the stores and change out the merchandise to party souvenirs. Then after all non party guest had left, the party started. Now I feel that it is just a extension of the day at MK for another $65 for 5 hours. We haven't attended the party for the last two years. It is very disappointing. Has anyone else attended the party within the last couple of years?

  8. Ok just came back from the Ft. Of course I requested a non pet loop and of course their were dogs in the loop. One next to us who barked all the time. Then a family was playing in the road with their kids and a yellow lab"playing" with them, unleashed. They acted like they were in their own back yard. Just before I went to call the front desk they went in for dinner. I have a suggestion I made to the fort. When you check in, they should put put a big Pluto on that parking pass. Then when (and if) security decides to start enforcing the no pet loops, then can clearly see who did or didn't sneak their pet in. Simple.

  9. Thanks for the tip, we've only done very early breakfast there when it's all new and fresh, always excellent...

Never done the breakfast. We have always enjoyed Hollywood and Vine without any problems. But again it's never been an hour before closing. We try to go to Hollywood and vine at least once a year.

  10. Oh my goodness do I hate writing this post. We love love love Hollywood and Vine and especially if we have Fantasmic Dinner package. Even though I am. Not crazy how they have changed the seating for the show. Anyway back to dinner. We had dinner reservations at Hollywood and Vine for 7:00pm. Studios closed at 8:00 pm. The restaurant had closed down one side of the buffet line. They had closed down the pasta bar. So you could not build your pasta plate. The food that was being served was not fresh. Not that it tasted bad, They just weren't refilling the pans. They were already tearing down the dessert station and it was only 7:15. The waitress were cleaning up their stations. We felt like the great uncle who wasn't welcomed anyore. So my advice is if you are offered a reservation near the Park's closing, I would think twice, especially if it is a buffet

  11. I just wanted to thank each and everyone for the wonderful advice about the dining plans. Since we only have 10 days left til we see Mr. Mouse himself, we decided this time we are going to write down everything we spend. Our travel agent told me Disney quoted a price of $1600. For two people and t believe you have to pay first. Well for this $1600 s quite a bit of money and we are going to pass. Now if we were staying, in a hotels things may have different. We are already paying over 125 a night then add another $16 to that. It gets to be a little out of hand. What happened to cheap rates at the Ft and more importantly, why they don't offer any Fl residence rate or pass holder rates. They do for the cabins, but not for the sites.

  12. Ok guys we have 17 days and 22 hrs before we are back to the Ft I was going over my dinning reservations and out of the 10 days we will be there, we have reservations for all but 2 nights for dinner. And 2 of the dinners are dinner shows. We don't have breakfast or lunch reservations because of our RV. My question to anyone is, does anyone stay at the Ft and use a dinning package? Do you find it worth wild?. We have never done a package because we will barbecue or make a sandwich. But this time we will be meeting friends for dinner for 4 nights. And then there is the cost, which I have no idea. It will be a matter of pen to paper. Thanks for any help

  14. We have been going to the Ft for over 30 years. back when they had the trams going thru the loops instead of buses. And long before pets were even allowed to camp. Even up to 10 years ago, guest abided by the rules. This is what gets me. They can't even enforce the rules of I vehicle in the parking lot, or those smelly golf carts. Now it seems to be the pets. Why can't people just follow the rules. This is when it gets out of hand cuz people want to do what that want. These are the same people who don't understand why their children do not listen.

  15. You're preaching to the choir here.

The management style at the Fort apparently is to let any guest do whatever he or she pleases, and only take action if another guest complains. And the taking action part is usually just listening to a guest vent and apologizing, and still doing nothing.

I've never seen any other business thrive the way the Fort has despite the inept management.
