nutters4wdw......Amy 5
Does anyone have a campground to recommend for an overnight stop in Tallahassee? We're coming through on I-10 on the way to the Fort from Texas so easy on and off would be nice. If we get in early enough a pool would be nice. Thanks!
ImDownWithDisney 342
Don't stop at the KOA just east of Tally. That place sucks for the cost.

PrincessNana 15
We stayed at the KOA west in Tallahassee . It was ok, but we would probably not stay there again unless it was an emergency. If you can push on for about an hour, you can stay at the Jellystone park in Madison. Much nicer place.
PureTcrazy...rita 380
I am from this area. There aren't any really great ones. Someone here posted about Big Oak. It's ok. There is also Dove Rest in Marianna. I posted a review of it on here I think. I'll go look for links.
PureTcrazy...rita 380
Here is a link to Dove Rest. http://www.fortfiends.net/forum/topic/5052-dove-rest-cg-marianna-fl-at-exit-142/
PureTcrazy...rita 380
Here's big oak. http://www.fortfiends.net/forum/topic/4385-big-oak-rv-park-tallahassee/?hl=tallahassee The Jellystone is nice if you're not too tired. Our state parks are nice too, just no sewer hookups.
Davydee 3
If you had a choice between Big Oak or the Jellystone, would you pick the Jellystone over Big Oak? Thanks! David
PrincessNana 15
Big oak looked pretty nice. The Jellystone campground is especially good if you're traveling with kids, it's easy on and easy off, lots to do, nice shady sites (not a plus if you want satellite) and pools and beaches. It is a family destination campground, so lots of kids and family groups.
DaveInTN 3,247
I also agree to avoid the KOA west of Tally....Chattahoochee? Overnighted there once. Not so great.
nutters4wdw......Amy 5
If the day goes well it looks like we're gonna try for the Jellystone. If not, there is a place called Stone's Throw that we may have to settle for. Really hoping we make it to the Jellystone, the other place looks okay for an overnight but we were really hoping for a place to really relax for a bit before the last push to the Fort. Thanks for all the info and links, Fiends rock!
etg052 1
We recently stayed at Florida Caverns State Park in Marianna. No pool but plenty to see and do and it was pretty easy to get off and on I-10. I'll camp there again when heading tot he Fort.
