Pictures from Matthew's Mission Trip to Indonesia

Recommended Posts

Beautiful pictures!

Thanks, but I can't take credit for them.

Really puts thing into perspective. We have so spoiled here.

You can say that again!

That cart thing over the ocean? Yikes. No way.

Cable car??? Noooooooo

That would be another "Mr. T" ride for me!

She sure is... very beautiful.

I love her smile.

Absolutely beautiful there.  Amazing pictures.

Thanks.  But, again, I can't take credit for them.  The men on the trip took all of them.

While PhotoBucket is behaving for awhile, I'll post some more pictures.

Another beach:

I think this sign is easy to understand in any language:

Heating dinner (Matthew's utensil is the stainless steel one in the center):

Let me try and get this finished up.

With some of the locals:

The group found a beachside cafe with sodas they could drink instead of having to purify the water ...

They made their way back to Pok Tunggal Beach.

From there they started traveling back to Yogyakarta.

In the evening they traveled to Salatiga by car.  This is Mount Merbabu (or Gunung Merbabu in Indonesian), a dormant stratovolcano:

A local market:

The group spent a couple of days in Salatiga working at a local orphanage.

A feast:

The group then traveled to Semarang to catch a flight to Jakarta.

I think this picture of Jack pretty well sums up the thoughts of the group:

And about 26 hours later, Matthew arrived home.

Looks like a wonderful experience; glad they got the opportunity. Praising God for a safe trip!

What a great experience and Praise the Lord for His traveling mercies. Thank you so much for sharing and allowing us to see the people whoms hearts we pray were touched by the love of Christ.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your prayers!

There were many problems on this trip that I haven't shared before.  Missed connections ... perilous journeys that I'm glad I didn't know about until they were safely home ... Matthew's flight from Jakarta to Tokyo being dropped in the system by ANA ...  nearly impossible connections to make ... the list goes on and on.  But over and over the Lord worked out all the details out to allow these men to come home and reunite with their families.   Praise be to the Lord!
